Not collecting waste and need to pay for that. Customer service very poor.

Terrible company and service. Their goal is to over charge in every possible way. They will miss your bin collection consistently, not provide invoicing, and have poor unresponsive customer service. And then they'll charge you even more to pick up your bins after cancellation

Very dissapointed with the lack of communication from this company when trying to have bins removed following closure of our account after 6 years of service. To be fair we never had issue with them prior and the service was always reliable so its disappointing that it has ended this way.

We struggled all summer, I'm at home with the kids so my wages aren't coming in, I genuinely couldn't pay my bill last month, my bins were still taking and I could pay what I finally owed this week, that's a gift, we all get weeks or months with unexpected expenses it actually really helped me , I definitely recommend Thorntons as the best company to bin deal with

Worst company, nightmare, incompetent. They make it impossible for you to leave, don’t acknowledge emails, not even the ones sent to the tricky address they have if you want to leave. You have to pay 45 euro to leave and give a month notice which is impossible as the emails I sent and the conversations I had with some of the agents are not logged ( they keep saying they didn’t receive it and that I didn’t ring) Keep proof of any interaction you have with them, you will need it ( and even with proof they will keep on denying..)

So nice to deal with. After I had an issue with another bin company, Pamela in Thorntons was so helpful. Would highly recommend them. Best customer service around.

Great service, skip was booked for a Saturday, got a text that day saying it was delayed till following week due to high volume of orders.
Arrived Monday, got a text to say it was on the way. Collected 2 days later, got a text beforehand also. I will definitely use thorntons skip hire again.

Worse customer service ever. You tell them that you want to switch to another company and they don't care or try to retain you as a customer. Clearly the girl in the customer services does not care at all and does not give you any solution.

Would give 0 if possible. Avoid at all costs. Having only been with thorntons about 3 months. Bins have not been collected 3 times. On contacting was left feeling I was unreasonable to expect them to collect the bin on designated day. Bin was left out day before on kerb like neighbours but mine not collected. Call centre staff neither gave explanation or apology.

I regularly get skips from thorntons but not anymore.

I filled a standard skip with garden waste (bits of sticks etc). The driver called today to collect and without even entering the property he looked at the skip from 50-60 feet away and left. He then sent me a text to say he will not be collecting the skip because "it's badly loaded and over loaded". We're talking about a load of garden waste here so there's only one way of loading. The skip is stacked up just like every other skip I have ever seen in my life. It is not stacked any higher than any other skip I've seen either.

I've had this particular driver out before and he has this high and mighty attitude problem.

Steer clear, excess charge is a scam system (they don't credit for times when the bin doesn't go out) other services offer almost twice the weight allowance.

And if that's not enough, another scam: 15 euro per bin to be collected if you move from them??????

Its their bin, madness!

Absolutely terrible. Mini skip supposed to be collected same day.. Friday. Rang next day, was promised it would be collected next working day. It's now Wednesday and have been told they will "try" to get it collected tomorrow. It is in my drive and a car has been damaged today by hitting a skip that is supposed to be gone 4 Days ago!!!!!! Poor girl on the phone said she had seen calls for it to be collected and would pass it on to management...won't be holding my breath for a response considering the performance of the company they "Manage"!!!!!

Thorntons recycling must be the worst refuse collectors in Dublin. The positive reviews seen here are absolutely baffling. They constantly forget to collect my brown bin and my green bin. When you eventually get through on the phone , which can take over 10 mins , you are promised a return call which may or may not happen. Leaving a voice mail or emailing them is a complete waste of time.
All this from a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction. I would not recommend them.

I thought they were excellent. Could book a delivery date and collection date on line. Had longer than the standard 3 days and was competitive on price. Could not have been too much better.

Excellent service. Really helpful and efficient customer service. Highly recommend.
