From the moment we visited the showroom we knew we were making the right decision, and the order for our 2 seater and 3 seater Huxleys, plus a Blanch desk chair was made on the spot. In the eight weeks or so since then we have received regular email updates from Warren and today we took delivery. The sofas and chair are of a different level of quality to any other furniture we have ever bought - simply stunning. Then the icing on the customer care (it is care, not just service) cake arrived a few minutes ago - a beautiful bouquet thanking my wife and I for our custom.

SW James are an exemplar of what good old-fashioned service should be and I have no hesitation in recommending then unreservedly.

Who would of thought a holiday on a canal boat through beautiful Bollington, would begin our journey of finding our Vintage Chesterfields....and so pleased we did.

We are absolutely delighted with the pair of 'mini Monty Chesterfields' we recently purchased from S. W. James. The quality, design, comfort and craftmanship is superb.

I knew from first seeing the photos of their chesterfields that I wanted an SW James sofa for my flat. There is a large variety of styles and materials to choose from and ultimately, I selected the Huxley with vintage honey leather. A bit apprehensive about such a large purchase without seeing it in person first but was relieved to find that the sofa exceeded my already high expectations. It’s comfortable, well made and high quality. No wonder all the online reviews of this company are so stellar! Would absolutely recommend to friends and family and am extremely satisfied with the purchase.

We ordered 2 Huxley’s and a laurel footstool and are very pleased with the results. There was no pressure to buy during our shop visit as is the case with some companies and Warren was very professional, friendly and helpful with all of the questions we had. We took a couple of leather samples home and spent a bit of time deciding which leather to go with. We opted for the 5 year protection plan for all 3 items and at a very reasonable cost, we have peace of mind should we have any accidents within this time.

Warren’s chosen delivery company were professional and the service they provided was excellent, all items unwrapped and delivered exactly where we wanted them, with no damage to the furniture or property. We will no doubt be in contact with Warren in future for another small order and I’m confident these sofas will last a lifetime. We are glad to support a proper British company employing highly skilled local craftsmen with a wealth of experience, you really do get what you pay!

I had been recommended purchasing my leather sofa from S W James. What an absolute pleasure, the customer care that is provided is above and beyond. Warren was very patient and explained everything throughly making my decision so much easier. Nothing was to much trouble, I was able to ask for as much information regarding the different ranges as I needed. Warren would send images of different chesterfield sofas, he would call to talk me through everything or email, nothing was to much trouble. I chose a Huxley 3 seater with a stud detail on the arms and castors for the feet. To say I am delighted with my purchase is an understatement. So we have been wanting a Chesterfield sofa for a long time and finally took the plunge and bought the Florence 3 seater, chair and footstool from S W James. We absolutely love them. From start to finish the service and attention to detail was second to none. We made the journey to meet Warren at the show room where we were greeted by someone who is obviously very passionate about what he does and a very genuine nice guy. We have had the most wonderful experience dealing with Warren and his team at SW James.
From when Warren met us at the door of the showroom, in the beautiful canal side location in Bollington, we felt were in good hands and we weren’t wrong.
He didn’t rush us into placing our order and he gave us the time during our appointment to make sure we made the right decision. When you visit the showroom, you have the place to yourselves and Warren’s full attention. If I’m honest, I usually dread visiting showrooms, as I hate being made to feel I’m being constantly watched by sales staff waiting to pounce but Warren made us feel like we could take as long as needed. The whole experience was pleasant and stress free.
Our dog Bertie, also enjoyed the visit and took the opportunity to ‘try out’ the different sofa’s to make sure we ordered the one that best suited his sleeping requirements, which turned out to be Huxley.
From placing our order through to delivery, Warren kept us updated and any time I had a query, my calls were quickly answered by his team and he always got back to me, personally, within an very short time, even when he was away on his holiday.
Warren couldn’t have done anymore, to make the whole process as stress free as it was. He and his team provided a fabulous personal service. They made us feel that our business with them was truly appreciated. They couldn’t have done anymore for us, if they had tried.
The delivery went smoothly and we are so happy with the quality and workmanship of the two sofa’s we now have in our home. They have had nothing but compliments from family and friends especially about how comfy they are.
