After an excellent discussion or two covering options, changes, etc. with Warren, I decided to purchase Sterling Antique Leather Chesterfield sofa and two Dorothy Wing Chairs Antique red. Warren kept me informed of progress and the delivery was earlier than expected which itself was done with care. Also, the sofa feet were changed on delivery and look better aligned with the chairs. The quality of the product is superb, fantastic craftmanship and an all-round excellent service. If you have the money, I would strongly recommend S.W.James for a long-lasting product that will significantly enhance your room.

We are so pleased with our Monty sofa and footstool. We have had them both for just over a month and not only do they look great but they are very comfortable too. Like many others, we placed our order without actually having sat on one of these sofas but we couldn’t be happier with the comfort and finish. Having spent many months trawling the big stores and online for a new leather sofa, I finally opted to go with S. W. James. This was the best decision I have ever made, from requesting the leather samples which arrived very quickly I could see that both the quality and colour of the leather was way better than any other I had seen. Having dogs this was essential.

My next concern was would the company have a sofa that would fit through the very narrow front door and hall of our Victorian terrace, after many emails, measurements, photos and phone conversations with Warren I felt reassured that my choice of sofa (Atticus corner sofa) should fit. The Order placed, I was kept informed of progress through out the build process the front door / hall way and were quickly in place, however the corner section of my new sofa objected and try as the delivery men might, it refused to fit through the front door, it was a couple of cms too wide. As you can imagine I was gutted, however a quick phone call was made, and the corner section was dispatched back the workshop to be adapted, at no extra cost. Two weeks later, S.W. James’s Dispatched Neil on the lengthy journey back to Kent, to fit the now adapted corner section. Any concerns were very quickly dispelled it slid through the door and was fitted to it counter sections with in minutes. Whilst it has been a bit of an extended journey to get the sofa of my dreams, I am more blown away by the quality and look of my new sofa than I could have imagined.

If you are starting out on you new sofa search I can highly recommend S.W. James, I can honestly say from personal experience they go above and beyond to ensure that their customers feel valued and receive a quality leather sofa that is unbelievably comfortable. I think you would hard pushed to find a company who will proved the same level of service, care and attention to detail. I’m so impressed that I am now considering purchasing a wing chair and footrest.

My only regret was not living closer to the factory/ workshops, to be able to go and visit their showroom. Mrs Beck, Kent.

Altogether a very enjoyable experience. From discussing my needs, choosing the design, and leather, to following the construction, I wS able to be involved all the way. When the corner sofa was delivered it looked stunning has been hugely admired, and is very comfortable.

We researched a number of suppliers of leather chesterfield furniture throughout the UK and decided on the manufacturer, S W James.
This was based, in part, on the information on their website, which included extensive and detailed reviews. In addition, we initially had a long telephone discussion with Warren Kinsey, the co-founder of the company, which has a long and distinguished history in the manufacture of leather (and other fabrics) furniture.
During the conversations, Warren discussed all aspects of the whole manufacturing process. as a result, we actually bought two green antique leather sofas (2-seater) and one seater.
Over the time it took to make the furniture (about 8-10 weeks), Warren kept us informed (by email, text and phone) of how the furniture was progressing and what was being done.
At all times, we were confident that the sofas and chair were progressing well. The furniture was delivered from Macclesfield to Edinburgh on time and fully informed of the delivery, which was also to a high standard.
We are absolutely delighted with the sofas and chair, which are of the highest quality. Cannot speak too highly of the friendly, helpful expertise from start to finish.

I had been researching leather sofas for quality and comfort. I needed sofas that would stand up to life with pets. My new Chesterfields from SW James are beautiful and fit the bill perfectly. The service was great from the start talking through all the details, sizes, leather grade etc. I received regular updates ensuring me my sofas were on schedule for completion and delivery in timescale agreed.
On completion again I discussed delivery options with courier service and my sofas arrived on time and in perfect condition.
These are British made by true craftsman and the whole experience has been great so a big thank you to SW James and team.

We have just received our beautiful Chesterfield and are so happy with it. After lots of research on handmade quality furniture there was simply no other company to match SW James. We travelled for 3 hours from Sunderland to Bollington to visit the showroom. We were greeted by Warren who was very welcoming. All of the sofas are beautiful and ooze quality, we decided Huxley in vintage grey was for us! Warren was very helpful explaining the process and even measured out the size of our living room so we could truly visualise how things would look in the space. We were kept up to date at different stages of the build. Our Huxley 3 seater , snuggle chair and footstool were delivered a couple of weeks ago and they are amazing, they are so comfortable and luxurious. The customer care given by Warren is first class. 100% recommended.
