As a Fulbright visiting scholar, I used the Sprintax system to prepare my 2025 tax documents. After dedicating approximately one week to understanding and completing the process, I was able to download only the federal tax return, while the state tax documents were not accessible.
I reported this issue to the IIE Sprintax team on April 2, 2026. Owing to time constraints, I subsequently accessed the system again and obtained the state tax documents by paying the required service fee. On April 3, 2026, Mr. Mark Valentine responded to my inquiry and provided the state tax documents. In my reply, I noted that my colleagues had not incurred such charges. Mr. Valentine assured me that he would review the matter with his team.
On April 7, 2026, he confirmed that the amount paid would be refunded. I sincerely appreciate his professionalism, responsiveness, and commitment to resolving the issue.

I’ve used Sprintax before and had a really good experience, which is why I chose to use them again this year. Unfortunately, this time was very different.
I filed my taxes through e-filing, as I’m currently in Australia and can’t easily post documents. My return was rejected by the IRS, and after that, Sprintax became pretty much useless. The only guidance I was given was that it was now too late to e-file again (as you only get one attempt), and that I’d need to post my return instead—which isn’t practical for me. Beyond that, they offered no real support or alternative solution.
What’s especially frustrating is that I paid nearly $100 extra for additional support services, and it didn’t feel worth it at all. When I actually needed help, there was none.
Really disappointing compared to my previous experience, and I don’t think I’ll be using Sprintax again.

The support I received in figuring out my login issue was extremely prompt and very helpful. Alexander Nedelchev figured out exactly what the issue was and my problem was sorted!

It's useful for filing state taxes. The help function using the chat is very convenient and one employee helped me out well. However, another employee later gave me incorrect information on my tax treaty information, of which I can only guess the consequences. Interestingly I did not get a pop up to provide my feedback on the interactions, so I'm doing so here: please make sure employees ask questions if they are unsure about something. I'm using and paying for Sprintax to prevent mistakes, so this happening I found a bit concerning.

It was my first time to file my return in USA and Sprintax could not have been easier. As a first timer I had made a mistake. And the the customer service helped me step by step patiently too. Spécial mention to Allison who helped me a lot to correct the mistake that I had made. I will definitely use Sorintax for future tax filing and highly recommend to anyone looking for an easy to use service with great after sales service.

Iliyan Petrov was very responsive and helpful, and made tax filing smooth and understandable! I needed clarity on many sections and Iliyan explained them so thoroughly.

Update (April 2, 2026): > Despite Sprintax's reply below claiming they are "actively working to resolve the issue," this is entirely false. Their agent (Allison) is completely ignoring the official IRS bank statements I provided and is still giving me factually incorrect information. They have not taken a single action to fix my delayed FICA claim or update my address with the IRS. Do not believe their PR replies.

If you are an international student or scholar, do yourself a favor and DO NOT pay for Sprintax's premium Post-Filing Service. You are essentially paying for a wall of canned responses.

I used Sprintax to file my 2023 FICA and Federal tax returns for my internship at Amazon. The IRS received my documents back in April 2024. Because I anticipated delays, I specifically paid extra for their Post-Filing Service, which promises that their tax experts will contact the IRS on my behalf if issues arise.

It has now been almost 24 months, and my refunds are still missing. I have provided every single document they asked for, including a hand-signed Form 8821 (authorizing them to speak to the IRS) and a Form 8822 (for an address change).

Instead of actually advocating for me, their customer service agents (Megan, Todor, Yana) just send me in endless loops of automated replies: "wait another 60 days," "wait another 8-10 weeks," or "your case is sent for review."

The worst part? When I explicitly asked them to provide the IRS Agent ID, the exact date of their call, or an IRS interaction reference number to PROVE they actually contacted the IRS using the service I paid for, they completely ignored the question. They cannot provide a single piece of evidence that they are actually doing the work.

Sprintax is happy to take your money for premium upgrades, but when it comes to actually picking up the phone and resolving a delayed case with the IRS, they leave you completely in the dark. Extremely unprofessional and incredibly frustrating.

I had excellent support from Mark Valentine regarding tax filing with Sprintax. Feedback was timely and he also provided answers to all my queries. I am extremely happy with the services I received I received!
