Sanctuary housing and accommodation are good but the management is very bad. There have been several instances where staff have behaved very rudely to the students but instead of making the student feel secure, they choose to make them feel unheard. And several instances where students have gone to complain about their Apartments and their issues, students have to give money to solve them, in my particular case where I went to them because my fob is not working. After all, they turn off the access to my particular fob, they choose to charge me for it saying I have damaged the fob and I need to get a new one where whereas I have the same phone and lost money during trying times. Thank you Sanctuary Management for this memory.

Absolutely awful company, there aren’t any maintenance and everything is dirty messy and old. Price and location is acceptable. Some of the stuffs are rude, stupid and completely useless which doesn’t deserve any respect. Have the very weird stuff and fire alarm appears everyday. It claims itself as non Profi benifit Organisation which is absolutely a scam, I have heard too many outrageous and ludicrous stories about this company, my advice is don’t go there!!!!!

This place is cheap for the price of student accommodation in Manchester but then they have a hopeless management team. The lift is broken for weeks and excuses given for not repairing the lift because they have to wait for certain parts being shipped from China.... We raise complaints but management just choose to ignore us. This is extremely inconvenient especially during summer when everyone is trying to move out. Am I expected to throw all my luggage out of the window when I am living at the 10th floors?

Sanctuary Students do not accept full-time degree apprenticeship students.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

I lived here during my first year of university.
When I moved into the flat myself and my flatmate had no access to running water which was not resolved for over 3 days. This meant we were without both a working tap and shower in our bathrooms. I rang and emailed every day to get this sorted and they never responded. I was woken up at 3am to two grown men coming into my room, which they had a key for without my knowledge, to do some plumbing. This was a scary experience as I was completely alone and vulnerable, I received no support over this experience.
Later on in the year I woke up in the night to a mouse in my room. The building is infested. The mouse ate through some dried food I had and multiple items of clothing. It kept me up all night squeaking and scratching. Sanctuary made me wait 4 days before sending someone out to help. The exterminator that came gave me a trap but told me I would have to check it and empty it myself and I received no extra help or compensation. Following this experience I had to be prescribed anti anxiety medication as I had developed ptsd due to living with a rodent.
The flat reached over 30°c at points and myself and flatmates were forced to reach out to environmental support as Sanctuary provided no assistance.
The manager Joanne Bell has no regard for the safety of the residents and her communication skills need extreme work.
This is a dangerous place to live and I urge no one to give this company money or trust.

Please don’t live here. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. It’s basically like living in a construction site. Someone complained about this 4 years ago. The work will always be on going.

Aggressive bullying and harassment was noted to the staff and completely ignored. The staff responded to the issue patronisingly and rudely after a group of students politely asked for help. The rooms are tiny and bleak. It would be more pleasant and homely sleeping under a bridge.

Well, due to Covid19 all students were advised to return home for safety reasons. SS are still insisting full rent to be paid even though students have gone home. I do understand contracts are contracts but come on, the rent includes bills. No water or electricity being used, no wear and tear or everyday maintenance required as properties are empty. Profiteering to the extreme. I thought contracts should be fair?? Students still have living costs even if they have gone home, parents lost jobs, students lost jobs. Think before you use these people. A lot of landlords have cancelled rents, SS leave a lot to be desired.

Unlike other accommodation providers, Sanctuary Students will not offer even a partial refund to students having to return home from university as a result of the coronavirus shut down. Avoid them if possible, as if your uni closes for any reason, you'll still have to pay rent whether your there or not!

After universities closed (only online teaching) and recommended that students return to their homes due to Corona Virus, sanctuary students have decided that no one is available for a refund for the remaining weeks of the contract for students in Liverpool. Other accommodation providers such as Unite have cancelled final payments for all students who have moved out!

I understand that there are still some costs to running buildings, but charging students the full amount is disgusting. A partial refund would have been better than nothing! No communication from sanctuary apart from a Facebook post!

Avoid at all costs and choose another provider!
