I've used Red Letter Days several times for gifts over the last few years, and the experiences are always great. Most of us have enough 'stuff', I love having experiences with loved ones and making memories instead.

Understood what I was trying to put over and acted quickly.

Despite paying £8.99 for next day delivery voucher didn't arrive on time. Very difficult to talk to anyone [except AI] about this. Delivery charge is extremely high considering you're using Royal Mail and not a first rate courier such as DPD. Asked for refund of delivery charge but answer was a flat "NO". Used Red Letter Days a few years ago and had a bad experience. Vowed I wouldn't use them again but as they're now part of Moon Pig I gave them another chance. Absolutely won't be using or recommending them again.

Booking was easy Checking in was really quick. Nice touch with giving cookies. Rooms were lovely. They were called cosy rooms but they were big Great location in York central

I was generously gifted a two night stay-but when I looked to book -I would have had to pay quite a lot towards it for anywhere “decent”
So I opted to change it to a spa day at Bannatyne in Bristol with a friend !
That place needs a LOT of money spent on it ! It’s so rundown and dirty-
So I would not want to be gifted or ever buy anything again from Red Letter Days-just choose myself and book directly

It was easily to book this

It was a lovely afternoon tea. A pleasant venue and we were not rushed at all.

28th September 26. Tried to book a two day stay at the Churchill Hotel in York using a red letter days voucher. Told by the Churchill Hotel that the voucher number couldn't be found but a provisional booking was made while we all tried to get to the bottom of things.

The Churchill Hotel tried to contact red letter days but couldn't so we had to.

Red letter days confirmed the voucher number and sent a link for booking at the Churchill hotel but asked for a further payment which we gave via credit card. Churchill hotel say a booking has not been made by RLD.

We have an email from RLD confirming the booking has been made but now saying, the booking is for another hotel. Impossible for us to have booked with another hotel because when we recieved the voucher as a gift, we knew exactly where we were going to stay using this voucher... The Churchill Hotel.

Still trying to get to the bottom of this but red letter days are not making things easy.

50 minutes on a RLD chat line took us in a loop, right back to complaints dept wherein we have to wait 48 hours for a response.

This review will be updated as things progress. In the meantime, people need to be made aware of any scam or fraud that might be taking place regarding RLD and 3rd parties who take extra credit card payments.

Update: 30th September 26. Finally, a reply from RLD and we were able to book what should've been booked 2 days ago. Isn’t it lucky our stay at the Churchill Isn’t until December. Imagine if we'd booked it for yesterday.

We've passed on this to everyone who would buy us a voucher as a gift in future, not to, especially RLD ones. The hassle Isn’t worth it. Cyber world hasn't improved things has it... it's actually made things worse than when we could converse with a human rather than a machine or chat bot.

There are many complaints with these voucher schemes across the board and we've reached the point of never giving or recieving them as gifts.

No doubt RLD will reply wanting more info and apologising with bog standard corporate excuses, but it will fall on deaf ears because we'll treat this company as they’ve treated us and others... with the contempt they deserve and ignoring them.

Another company here that seems to be training their employees on how to lose customers.

Great value for money. Massage and relaxation room excellent. Pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi etc perfect. Good size pool as well for a decent swim. Friendly staff. Recommended

Lovely day out at East Somerset railway. We rode the train and had a cream tea in the pretty cafe. A really enjoyable day!

We were bought a "Countryside escape" experience from my parents for our first anniversary as we never got to get away after the wedding.

We go to book the experience to find tons of inner city travel lodges and holiday inns not exactly the "peaceful escape to the countryside" after wading through all the budget hotels across the country we found a hotel that looked good to find out there is an additional cost to this. Something that should be more visible when booking not in the teeny tiny print where my tech novice mum can't see... which got her extremely upset as she thought this was all paid for experience to treat us.

The experience description states "Abandon the hustle and bustle for a peaceful break in the countryside"... "Feel revitalised with a one-night stay at a choice of stunning venues, whether it's a country manor house or a cosy inn" ... "Spend the rest of your visit exploring idyllic villages and landscapes and enjoy the chance to escape the everyday" think this is extremely misleading when the top choices are inner city travel lodges, holiday inns and premier inns.

Would have been the same price booking direct with the hotel rather than going through this experience.

If you are looking at buying one of these experiences... make sure to read any reviews and every word of the small print as it might not be the experience you think.

I had a Red Letter Day given to me as a gift.
It was a meal at Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse. When I went to book it they wanted me to pay a further £69, which I was not willing to do. I opted to exchange it for another Experience. This was a problem on the Website, however I got through to the helpdesk and they sorted it out for me.

Actors were excellent , no over acting !
Enjoyable evening with good food .

Beautiful food, kindly and professionally served in interesting old chapel restaurant.

Red Letter Days are great. There are some really good deals and they are easy to book. We use them every year to book a golf trip and it is fantastic.

Please avoid Red Letter Days - Absolutely appalling customer service!!

My experience with Red Letter Days has been disgraceful from start to finish.

I purchased a voucher from this company, only to find that the voucher didn’t work when I tried to use it. Naturally, I contacted Red Letter Days expecting them to resolve the issue and refund my money.

Instead, what followed has been an absolute nightmare.

I was repeatedly told that my refund was going to be processed via BACS, despite the fact that I had paid for the voucher by card. I was given repeated assurances that the money was being refunded, and I trusted what I was being told.

Three weeks later, I still have no refund.

Even worse, Red Letter Days have now stopped responding to me altogether.

So to summarise: they sold me a voucher that didn’t work, failed to resolve the problem properly, repeatedly told me my money was being refunded, gave me completely confusing information about how the refund would be processed, and now appear to have simply ignored me and left me out of pocket.

The most frustrating part is that this could have been resolved incredibly easily. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable — I simply wanted my money back for a voucher that I couldn’t use. Instead, I’ve spent weeks chasing a company that seems completely uninterested in sorting out its own mistake.

The repeated promises that my refund was being processed, followed by three weeks of waiting and now complete silence, have left me with absolutely no confidence in this company.

I would strongly recommend avoiding Red Letter Days. If something goes wrong with your purchase, don’t expect the kind of customer service you would reasonably expect from a reputable company.

An incredibly disappointing experience and, frankly, an unacceptable way to treat a paying customer

EDIT: ‘Maddie’ has now responded to my review asking me to get in touch so she can get to the bottom of all this for me. HILARIOUSLY, Maddie is the one I’ve been dealing with in emails and is the one who has constantly lied to me telling me I’ll be receiving my refund soon! An absolute joke of a response and I’m STILL waiting for my refund. I have since reported Red Letter Days to the fraud department of my bank and escalated this to the Financial Ombudsman. I reiterate, DO NOT USE RED LETTER DAYS!
