PUBLIC presents itself as a large and reliable retailer, but unfortunately my experience did not reflect this.

When purchasing a BRAUN TexStyle 3 iron, the staff strongly encouraged us to buy additional insurance, explaining that the product would be repaired or replaced promptly if anything went wrong. However, this promise was not honoured.

After only three months, the iron broken and stopped working. We returned it to the store and were directed to the repair department, where we were told the item would be sent to the main distributor and repaired or replaced at no cost because it was insured. As we needed an iron immediately, we had to purchase another one.

Three weeks passed without any update, so we returned to the store expecting a repair or replacement. Instead, a staff member spoke to us dismissively and informed us that nothing would be done, despite the insurance premium we had paid.

PUBLIC LARGE BUT NOT RELIABLE
This experience was very disappointing. The insurance was presented as valuable protection, but when we needed support, it appeared to provide no benefit. I would advise customers to carefully review the warranty and insurance terms before purchasing, as the service and reliability did not meet the expectations created at the time of sale.

4th day in a row that they cancelled my orders after verifying them and i also pay them. They verify my order and after 2-3 hours they cancelled it because are items with limited stock. I called the customer service and they told me I should put it to come at my address and not a physical store and also pay with card. I did that for my next 2 orders and they also cancelled them after few hours. And a good amount of money is on hold and I should wait one week until i get them back. Very poor behaviour

The inverter and compressor was installed April 2026 TOOK THEM 3 WEEKS ,and is now faulty after 3 months no repairs have been attempted and we are getting lies upon lies from the distributor and the company Public cy , we bought it from claiming they have informed the technician . Its been 3 weeks and still nothing has been done no comunication from anyone . Absolutley disgusting , especially because its summer without an air conditioner

This company has discriminatory employees. I experienced discrimination at the Larnaca branch because of one of the employees there. I asked for a World Cup album, and shortly after, another customer asked for the same item but spoke in Greek. The employee told him, “There is only one left, wait and I will give it to you,” even though he had already told me that the item was unavailable in the branch and that I should order it online. Then he gave the last one to the other customer.

Dont ever buy anything from public, most unhappy staff, i dont know how they treat them, i got a Philips iron didnt work, took it there next day they didn’t give my money and they were un polite, public Paralimli service!

I placed an order (R329031064) for an Apple iMac on January 30 2026, and this has been one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had.

It has now been two months with:

No delivery
No clear updates
No resolution

On March 12, I was told they “need more time.” Since then, I’ve only received generic copy-paste responses like “we are working on it,” with zero actual progress.

At this point, it feels like they are simply delaying instead of solving the issue.

I have now been forced to escalate the case and proceed with a chargeback.

If you value your time, money, and sanity — avoid this company. I will definitely never order from them again.

This is not a delay — this is complete failure of customer service.

Another very disappointing experience with Public.

This is now the second time they have cancelled my order. I placed an order for Pokémon Destined Rivals packs when the website clearly showed around 100 pieces available. My order was confirmed, yet shortly after they cancelled most of the packs. Then it happened again, cancelling more packs and leaving me with only a few.

Their explanation was simply “high demand” and that the stock may not have been reserved. This is not a valid excuse. If a website shows stock and confirms an order, the system should reserve the items for the customer.

Customer service has been very poor and not helpful at all. Unfortunately, the experience in-store is not much better. Most of the shop staff seem clueless and are usually unable to properly help customers with questions or issues.

To make things worse, when they cancel orders they do not refund the money immediately, meaning customers have to wait several days to get their own money back.

Overall, a very frustrating experience. For a large company, the service, organisation, and customer support are extremely disappointing.

If i could give this company zero stars I would.

Worst customer support I ever encountered. I shopped from their online store they didn’t have the goods, they didn’t deliver anything and never refunded the money. 300 euro gone. Customer support is non existent

I placed an order for a TV that was shown as immediately available with delivery in 3–4 business days. After many days with no updates, I contacted customer support multiple times and was repeatedly given assurances that I would receive information, which never happened. Eventually, I was told that delivery was uncertain and would likely be after the holidays, so I canceled the order.
Although I was informed that the refund would be processed within a few business days, weeks have passed and the money has still not been returned. Despite several follow-up calls, there has been no clear update or resolution. Overall, very poor communication and an unacceptable delay in refund processing.

Never again. This is the worst customer service ever. We bought 4 televisions on black Friday. They supposedly had to deliver within 5 working days. After weeks of lies, excuses beyond any imagination , on the 9th of January I had to ask for a cancellation and a refund

as others have notified, they will go bankrupt soon as they provide the worst possible service online. you need to get the product in a physical store then maybe it's ok.

Purchased a television on Black Friday, was informed that it would be delivered on 5th December. Two days later was informed that it would be delivered and installed on 30th December. I have been calling the store every two days asking them to allow us to collect it and install it ourselves. They then told me I couldn’t collect my paid for TV as it is sold to someone else. They offered to refund my money within 7 days so I could buy it again for more money that I originally paid! I went to the store to complain in person and spoke to the store manager who promised to have a TV delivered on Monday 5th January.
On every occasion that I called the store, they said someone would call and to date 5th January 2026, noone has called so I called again today, same sorry excuse that they would look into and get someone to call to sort this problem out. I am now on my way to the store yet again to get my money back with interest.

Bought online a xmas gift for my son. The gift didn't arrive and after days of delay i called them to find out Public had never sent it in the first place. The customer service is inexistent. I will never order again!

Their system is trash and designed to scam users. no matter what they tell you at the time of sale. they absolutely disconnect afterwards. Never again

We ordered a TV on black Friday they said delivery will be on the 16th. On the 16th Dec the technician called and said he did not receive the TV (it’s not in his delivery storage room). So our 9am appointment never happened. Called public multiple times and they said the message has been passed on so they will call to inform me about the delivery and they will update me in the next 1-2 hrs and try to make delivery today. Of course no one called. Called again 2pm they said in max half hour they’ll call me and of course no call again for an update. So after 1 and 1/2 hrs I called again. He informed me since ive not had an update they will not deliver today and the technician will contact me. I called the technician, he checked his order for tomorrow and he did not receive anything . The technician also raised this with public but to no avail. Public also refused to provide another contact number of whomever is supposed to sort this out. Highly disappointing and unprofessional ‘service’. Wish I’d read the reviews before buying anything from them.

They charge different prices online and more expensive on store. For a simple thing from €7.00 they charged me €11.00. And i told them but didnt care.

We bought a tv and wall mounting on the 22/11/2025 and they told us that we will have the tv installed until the 28/11/2025. We paid 1500 euros and they still didn’t bring the tv and installation and today is the 14/12/2025. I have called them 4-5 times and always they say that they will check it and come back to me. Than nothing is happening.
Never again from Public. The worst service ever!

Do NOT buy anything from this company.
They sell defective and potentially dangerous products and then refuse to refund or replace them.

I purchased an air fryer that had a strong toxic plastic smell from the very beginning — a smell so bad it caused headaches. Instead of taking responsibility, the company tried to blame me, claiming I “don’t know how to use” the device. This is insulting and completely unacceptable, especially since I followed the instructions exactly and have owned air fryers before.

They returned the faulty product to me without fixing anything and acted as if the problem didn’t exist.
This company shows zero accountability, zero respect for customers, and zero concern for safety.

Avoid them at all costs.

Χειρότερη εταιρεία. Μείνετε μακριά. Περιμένω μια παραγγελία εδώ κ σχεδόν ένα μήνα. Τους καλώ κάθε μέρα και κάθε μέρα μ λένε θα με ενημερώσουν για τη παραγγελία μ. Ότι έχει μπει σε προτεραιότητα ενώ ξέρουν πολύ καλά ότι αδυνατούν να την παραδώσουν.
