Our experience with this firm was satisfactory at the outset but deteriorated as the transaction progressed.

Initially, the process was handled efficiently. The early stages of the purchase were explained clearly, which gave us confidence that the matter was being managed appropriately.

However, communication became increasingly challenging later in the process. When contacting the office, administrative staff were often unable to provide updates, and as our solicitor worked remotely, it proved difficult to obtain timely responses. While we did not expect immediate replies, we did expect communication within a reasonable timeframe. On several occasions, our emails were only partially addressed, which required repeated follow-ups and created uncertainty.

We also experienced difficulties with the survey arranged through the firm. The report contained inaccurate information, which resulted in delays and required us to intervene directly with council to have the matter reviewed. This added unnecessary pressure during an already complex transaction.

In addition, we were advised that we would receive cashback from our lender and were asked to provide supporting documentation, which we supplied promptly. However, we have not yet received this payment.

As first-time buyers, we would have benefited from clearer and more detailed guidance throughout each stage. Certain aspects appeared to be treated as routine from the firm’s perspective, but they were not self-evident to us. More structured explanations of the process would have reduced confusion and helped us feel more informed.

In summary, although the initial handling of the matter was positive, ongoing communication issues, delays, and the handling of the survey meant that the overall service fell below our expectations. The process became more stressful than necessary, and on this basis we would be reluctant to recommend the firm.

We hope this feedback assists the firm in improving communication standards, clarity of guidance, and oversight of third-party services.

We wish to commend Louise Docherty who helped us to write our first Will whilst she was still to complete her legal qualification. Within the following year -by which time Louise had qualified- we decided to get advice on having a Living Trust. We’d been so impressed by her professionalism, and her upbeat temperament that we specified that we wanted Louise to handle the matter. We were not disappointed in our decision.

We quickly came to trust Louise. She is knowledgeable but told us when she had given us a tentative response and needed to check the matter out. When we need future legal guidance. Would have rated a zero if this was an option. Would advise anyone going through probate and needing help guidance to look anywhere else but here. Endless mistakes, forms completed incorrectly no updates or acknowledgment from seniors when they place junior solicitors on matters that are important but happy to charge and take your money before things are completed. We have found premier solicitors to of made what has and is a difficult time for our family losing our dad/husband even harder. You can’t trust the work being done as they can’t even spell names correctly or complete land registry documents correctly. Absolute joke! Awful experience that is sadly still ongoing nearly 2 and a half years later. If you want support and accuracy and trust that matters are handled correctly and with care these aren’t the right stop for you.
