Blackpool Papa's fish and chip was amazing, the fish was huge and even the chips were too, great for what they were charging, couldn't even finish it it was that big but we got a to go box to take the rest with us.

It does take a little while for it to come out but worth the wait.

The staff were lovely and polite. Will definitely go again.

We ordered our meals and when they arrived the chips and musy peas were only Luke warm. I reported this to a waiter who promised to bring a new order of chips. We waited quite some time our other part of the meal fish and a pie were now cold. I went to the kitchen and tried to explain this the chef argued with me that it was only a few minutes since I reordered this was totally not the case. He did say he would provide completely new meals. This was not acceptable as we had already eaten part of the original meal . I must point out the restaurant was far from full I dread to think what the service would have been like when full.

As I said in another review I took my wife to Pappas at Crystal peaks big thankyou to Sam the manager and of course the chef Michael who did an amazing job, infact best fish & chips I've had, I've been to so called famous fish & chip shops, well there no where near as good as Pappas at Crystal peaks, what a super night we had thanks to Michael who cooked everything to perfection, cooked perfect and all hot even my wife said how good it was, so massive thankyou to Sam, Michael & can't leave Eva out. We will be back, try it you'll love it.

Visited cleathorpes this weekend, called into Papas for fish and chips. As usual the food was fantastic, such great value for money. The experience only improved by the service we received from our waiter Lauren ✌️ can't thank you enough for a wonderful experience.

Find the restaurant closed at 1945 despite being advertised as open until 2200.
Very poor answer from the manager at crystal peaks branch who ignored me for as long as he could before saying they basically close when they want

I’ve booked a table online but have not had the table confirmed. They say it will be confirmed within 24 hours of booking. I have phoned the restaurant several times but nobody answers. I’ve messaged them on social media too but no answer. I cannot imagine why the booking system is not automated.
Do I turn up at my booking time with my elderly mother who struggles to walk? Will I be asked to queue or turned away?

I'm not usually one to comment but this is one for my Coeliac/Gluten Free fam out there.

I was so excited to try some seaside British fish and chips and this place comes highly recommended for GF. The service was fantastic but the food was terrible.

The oil used to cook the chips was definitely old and dirty. The chips were soggy, heavily soiled in dark gross oil. The fish and the batter really was very nice, I'll give them that. Given the exchange rate was so bad, it cost me about $30AUD so I wanted to just persevere and eat.. But I gave up when I found a massive black hair in amongst the chips. I literally just got up and left, I don't even think anyone noticed. Honestly, I'm used to putting up with terrible gluten free food, but this was next level.. hence, I'm leaving a review.

Had a great meal out I had just chips as I didn’t want fish and there chips as enough to feed two people. The fish my husband had was cooked to perfection and the batter was lovely.

Fish perfect chips perfect and staff polite. Would highly recommend paps blackpool

What has happened to this place ?
Scruffy, used, lift not working, toilets at the top of the building.
We thought we'd give it chance to redeem itself with the food.
The medium Haddock were lovely, however we ordered a small haddock and chips for my grandson. Clearly 'reheated' as fish was brown. My wife did not want to complain, but to be honest it was inedible. Felt very 'palmed off', as if to say let's give them this fish, rather than throw it away.

Location: Whitby. After two attempts of providing our whitebait starters (which both arrived very burnt and very oily) we decided to cancel our complete lunch order and pay for the round of drinks we had. On a positive note service was good and the manager apologised refusing payment for our drinks plus our dog was allowed to sit with us in the restaurant. We would definitely not recommend and we are unsure of their ‘Best British Chip and Fish’ status and how it came about……which is proudly displayed by the entrance. 0/10.

Visited the cleethorps branch to day 2/3/2024 the food was hot and tasty and our waitress STELLA was not only friendly and efficient but also nothing was too much trouble for her.
Will definitely visit again let's hope Stella is still there

Our waitress 'Charlie' was super friendly with a great sense of humour! Food was hot and tasty, we will defo be back.

Feeling peckish ,with Papa's chippy staring me in the face ,in I drove ,empty car park ,take away ,one or two in . saw the menu , a tad perturbed by the offer of "Yorkshire fishcakes " The thoughts of I don't think so !! So, one bag ,,,tray ,,,box of chips ordered .I looked at this box of ,chips ,,they were ALL exactly the same size, like a half of a very small ball . Back to the car ,lifted the lid ,and there they all sat ,like the red army I

The potatoes used ,were what farmers used to let slip through the grading machine for the pigs to come and scoff, when potatoes were picked by humans ,riding the potato machine around the fields .This will be the vision that will always come to mind ,when I

What can I say; the service was exceptional. A young lady named Alex was our waitress. A family group of four on a busy Saturday afternoon and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was fresh, piping hot, delicious and plentiful.
The only downside was the sauces - They had run out of bottles condiments such as ketchup (they were that busy), so we had to use sachets. But given we were issued a table at all, we were very grateful.

After a previous unsatisfactory experience at the Papas Fish & Chip Restaurant near Crystal Peaks, Sheffield, my wife and I decided to give it another chance earlier today. The premises were only around 20% full with ample tables to choose from. This was rather surprising on the run up to Christmas and the Wetherspoons premises opposite was bursting at the seams. After being seated near the window, (I presume to make it appear busy with customers), it took almost 30 minutes for our order to be taken and another 15 minutes before the meal arrived. When it finally arrived, 30% of the chips were cut so thinly that they were hard and inedible and the remainder were only warm. As it had taken almost an hour to be served, I did not want to wait further for the chips to be replaced so I put up with them. The accompanying Scampi was no more than average in size but was tasty. I had selected the ice cream for desert but when it came, it was more ice than cream and my wife left the majority of it. I think that having given the premises a Yellow card on my last visit, this time it has definitely got a Red card and I very much doubt that we will be dining there again.

Absolutely horrible tofu and chips in Whitby, no seasoning just a block of raw tofu battered. Have emailed them twice, no response.

Today 2/12/23 Usually the best fish and chips but not today. The Bilton shop has team members i havent seen before. Perhaps that is tge reason. Fish and batter Chewy. Chips not hot. Training perhaps or when its not busy, cook fish as ordered.. being left on the rack effects its quality.

After a recent visit to Blackpool we visited Papas for some fish & chips. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful with my allergies. Food was delicious! Thank you

Always fresh, hot and delicious!
Customer service is exceptional, always friendly, courteous, with a smile. We live in Knottingley (60 miles away), this is my husband's birthday weekend. We have made this a tradition to come to Papa's for lunch after walking the dogs on the beach. If you come to Cleethorpes, you owe it to yourself to have fish and chips at Papa's.
