I had cause to visit your unit as outlined on the attached receipts and I and my party were most so very disappointed by the whole visit
Firstly, the disabled toilets were a disgrace dirty and urine all over the seat what a disgrace this was brought to the attention of the manager / greeter on the front desk but when I returned to the same toilet 20 minutes later it was still in the same mess and as a person like myself in a wheelchair I myself as I needed the toilet I cleaned up the mess to enable me to sit down to user the toilet would you say that’s acceptable???
Then moving onto the state of the place ibn general it was disgusting we waited for over 30 minutes then to be sat at a table with the floor covered in discarded food with no care was a disgrace then to then discover over at least 10 tables that were not even in use so we could have all been at down immediately but not the case As per the indicated wait.
Then the order waited in the queue to order for a further 20 minutes as thre seemed no rush then waiting another time for the food and drinks to arrive that we were then told there was a mix up with tables for orders so staff were going round asking people what they had ordered
Food arrived Luke warm and asking for its return to be re-cooked were were informed no at this we just upped and left as enough was clearly enough

Always use papas but tonight the fish was thin and lots of batter. The small fish was minute and the classic was small! The only thing that was enjoyable was the curry sauce with the chips, not value for money at all

I chose to celebrate my 60th Birthday with a meal, not at a swanky restaurant or high class hotel but at Papas, Willerby with my elderly parents, a place we have eaten at for over the last 5 years usually every couple of weeks with family or friends or even at times just myself & my wife as we have for the last five years had fantastic food & great service however on Saturday 18th things took a huge turn for the worse.

The meals arrived and we all commented on the fact that all the fish were of the same size ( Small ) and that I had ordered a Large Haddock and it normally comes – LARGE and on a bigger plate than the OAP Specials, the meals were brought to the table by two very young lads who were rather rude snapping that the order was correct and the fish is not sized by ‘size’ but by weight ! We questioned them to check but they were adamant they were correct and what we had was what we ordered & left. We were all rather taken aback and upon close examination of my plate of food the fish had been placed on a double layer of chips to make it appear bigger than it was, we stopped one of the boys again and showed him but again were told – that’s just how it is.

We ate, then asked for the bill, which came and was correct so I went up to pay, bit much as it was my Birthday but never mind, I handed the bill to a young lady at the till and spoke with her regarding the meal saying how underwhelmed we had been with the evening and that we felt that we had not received what we had ordered as in I had not received my correct meal and that we had twice questioned it and been fobbed off and could I speak with the manager.

She said he was busy, and gestured to a man that was stood at the side of me chatting to another couple up near the tills, after about 10 minutes they finished their conversation and I started to explain our issues, he was neither rude nor very apologetic and said that we should have queried it further which we had done but basically we had been told to just eat what we were given. I explained that it was not the 1st time we had been and my meal which I normally order & that came was not the meal that normally comes, it was a sorry state of a plate full with a small / medium fish.

He apologised and said that he would refund the price of my meal from the bill which he did and as a gesture as it was my 60th Birthday give me a bottle of wine, what did I prefer – me reply White Pino which the ladies had been drinking and he said that they didn’t have that so was offered red which I declined so accepted a Rose Pinot. Whilst I was away the young lady that had greeted us when we arrived came up to my wife and parents asking what was wrong and what had been the issue, they told her and she said she was sorry but had not been made aware and if she had would have just brought an additional fish as the customer ‘is always right’

I then paid the Bill and myself & wife walked away from the Till area to meet up with my parents who had gone up the stairs awaiting our return, they were stood with about 8 other people who had also finished their meals and were leaving, my wife & I got to the top of the stairs and spoke with my parents and then a young lads came running through shouting ‘COME BACK HERE YOU HAVNT PAID’ we thought he was shouting to one of the other couples and my Wife & I and my parents turned and walked towards the door, he again shouted for us to return as we hadn’t paid !

We stopped turned around and assured him that we had paid, in full by card, he said, no you haven’t you need to come back it hasn’t gone through, embarrassed as we had basically been accused of ‘doing a runner’ we returned to the till area, whilst walking back with my wife as I had paid by card I opened the online banking app on my phone and sure enough it showed a payment to Papas Willerby for our meals ( modern technology eh )!

We arrived at the tills where we were again accused of leaving without paying with other people looking at us as if we were criminals, so I explained that yes we had indeed paid as the payment was showing on my banking app, we were again told NO YOU HAVNT so I showed my phone to who we think was the manager detailing the payment however he still was not convinced even though we had proof – he offered no apology for the whole fiasco and we left with loads of people looking at us as if it was US that were at fault.
We have since emailed twice with no response to our email

I honestly don’t know how the chef can serve those chips to customers . Possibly the worst I have ever tasted. Dry ,bad bits no taste to them . Like eating cardboard.. the fish was excellent and the mushy peas good.. staff very nice and friendly but will not go back until they do something about the chips… ask marklews or ocean fish bar or steeles or becketts how they cook thers cause all at far better…

Excellent food at Papas in Willerby - went with a friend for the first time (which is amazing as I pass the restaurant so often and had never been in) and was served by Annie, who I would vote for as the best waitress I have ever had the good fortune to meet! No waiting around; food served in a timely manner; regular checks with us to see that we were happy with our orders and refresh our coffees - having eaten out hundreds of times in all sorts of restaurants here and abroad, I can genuinely say that this experience was the best in decades!
It really makes a huge difference to be greeted with a smile and to feel so welcome! Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable, Annie - we'll be back!

Worst fish & chips ever tasted, served in a pasta dish, oil stale, food only warm, batter far too thick, mushy peas looked like slop overflowing in the ice cream dish they were served in. Wasn't busy 5pm, plenty tables. No excuse for poor food. Come on Papa get your act together. After all we are paying customers who deserve to be able to rely on so called good establishments to be served decent food. How this one won BBC award is beyond me.

Blackpool was quiet but we managed to find Papa's fish and chips. Really nice food with excellent gluten free choices. Staff were friendly especially Darren.

Fantastic experience at Papas fish and chips.

Chris greeted us/looked after us.
He was very polite, friendly and welcoming.

The food was delicious and had good portions.

Everything was very clean.

I was very grateful for the use of the portable heater.
On this cold and wet day.

Pay and display parking is on the promenade.

If you have a disability Blue badge. Parking if Free of charge.

Is wheelchair accessible available throughout.

However, the wheelchair door open button did NOT work.
Help was needed to open these.

From entering and being greeted by Darren the whole experience was excellent. We went around 4:15pm so wasn't too busy. We had the senior Haddock and Chips they were delicious, freshly cooked crispy batter and proper home made chips. We had the choice of a dessert but to be honest we didn't have room so in replacement they let us have another pot of tea. Yorkshire tea bags so it was a good brew. Darren was so helpful, my phone battery had died and had my train ticket on and he very kindly charged it for me. What a star. He is an asset to Papa's he is very welcoming to everyone, even checking the waiting staff that they were ok. It did get very busy later but he always had a smile and a greeting. We would definitely go there again.

Visited Papas at Willerby, as we were in the area. Both got fish and chips, fish was as always delicious and cooked perfectly.
We were served by the lovely Annie, who as always polite, friendly and attentive.

Walked in had to wait a while to be seated had to pick a clean table and there weren’t many, the gluten free fish and chips and curry sauce were amazing could do with gluten free vinegar, need better servers. Blackpool papas

Papas in Willerby, Hull is a fish and chip restaurant and takeaway which we drive from Leicestershire to use. We don't really use a Leicestershire based chippy. These trips to Willerby are made even better when we have Annie serve us. She is excellent. Smiling, never flustered and obviously enjoys her job. Then there is the fish n chips which are always piping hot and delicious.

Willerby near Hull, absolutely enjoyed our meal, always tastes fantastic and today our server was called Annie, delightful lady who couldnt do enough for us, excellent service thank you Annie and the rest of the team.😊

I visited Blackpool on the 10/08/2024 with my family and our dachshund Milo. Our waiter Daz was very accomodating. The meal was nice and he even threw in a sausage for Milo.

We visited Blackpool Papas restaurant and was served by Darren, who was lovely, caring and very helpful.

We visited Blackpool for the day for our sons birthday and had amazing service from the staff at the promenade. Although it took a while for our order to be taken, the food arrived quickly, fresh and hot!
The server couldn't do enough to help us.
The friendly atmosphere created by the front of house staff was lovely and will keep us coming back again and again

Had a day out in Cleethorpes and as usual visited Papa's for lunch and it did not disappoint, plenty of choice for a fish and chip restaurant and for 5 of us it cost about £13 each for lunch and a drink.

The food was very good, never had a bad meal and our waiter Jake was a ray of sunshine and was very attentive and happy to help, a credit to the team!

Decided to check out Papa's at Crystal peaks Sheffield as I fancied fish n chips and I hadn't tried Papa's before and I remembered my friend saying they have a seniors menu and a 2 course meal is only £8.99 so I surprised my friend and asked if she wanted to join me. So I went into around 12.15pm ..decided to have Haddock n chips with lots of scraps/ batter and lemon sponge and custard..Usually Haddock is too strong for me but it's was delicious and a big fish for senior and lovely chips, scraps n tartare sauce..The sponge was beautiful, and custard too. I will be back with friends in near future..oh! and the tea was a good cuppa! The really nice woman name Pauline asked if we would put a review on here and I was very happy to do, and so was my friend..thank you Pauline and the other member of staff who showed what customer service should be ..I would have gave more than 5* would can't ..forgot to add, the restaurant was very clean!
