Quick and easy.

I chose Optically mainly on the range they have and also price point which is important to me.
Its nice being able to choose add on extras to suit my needs, like anti glare and polarisation etc.
Having the measurements on the frame site was reall helpful as was the ability to insert a photo of myself with frames added.
Good communication and a reasonably quick turnaround made my dealings with Optically a breeze.

One of the many reasons I have given 5…

One of the many reasons I have given 5 stars is due to the fact that the staff, this time Mike, has given outstanding Customer Service. From helping me navigate the website, to finding specific type of glasses, to organising replacements, my husband broke his new pair and Mike went above and beyond to organise a new pair.
This service has been amazing, I would and do share my experiences when others needing a great glasses supplier.

Above and beyond

Optically went above and beyond with truly exceptional customer, with a tricky custom reglazing project. Communication was excellent. I was never left wondering what was happening. The value for money is unbeatable and I am super pleased with the final result.

Absolute nightmare dealing with…

Absolute nightmare dealing with optically in NZ. First I ordered a pair of glasses and they took 6 weeks to arrive. 2 weeks into this process my wife ordered 3 pairs of glasses the first 2 pairs (sunglasses and reading glasses) took 6 weeks to arrive, giving every excuse in the books as to why they did not turn up. Now the last pair the most important pair, it has been 3 months and still, they are not here, we have a tracking number for them but it is with Australian post and I cannot complete an inquiry with them as I don't have an Australian phone number and optically is not answering the phone...absolute nightmare and totally hopeless!

This has been an absolute nightmare

This has been an absolute nightmare. I placed the order to have the lenses in my prescription sunglasses replaced on the 11th of July. Told it would take approximately 4 weeks. The sunglasses have been lost. Have sent the courier tracking information. They have credited my bank account for the initial charge but are reluctant to re-imburse me for my sunglasses! Have spent a lot of time time to get this resolved. Would definitely not recommend them.

We understand that you sent your glasses to be reglazed however we have not received your glasses. There is no reason why we will not process your order if your glasses were delivered to us.

You have shared the tracking details and as informed by our support team the package was not signed by anyone at our premises. As per your conversation with our team, we did ask you to share the address details where these glasses were sent for us to confirm if it was sent to the correct address however we have received no update for the same.

As we have not received your glasses, we have refunded you in full for the order you paid for however, we cannot reimburse you for a product that we never received. As a gesture of goodwill to make up for the missing glasses you were offered to select a frame from our website that will be sent to you without any additional cost. You will agree that this is the best that any genuine organization would do however you denied the same.

Please contact our support team if you wish to share more details about the package or take the offer suggested above.

Following the delay in getting the…

Following the delay in getting the glasses & having difficulty seeing , the glasses were returned to repair the narrow vision . The glasses look good but my range of vision is limited . Not entirely happy & may not try again, spend the extra & be stisfied .

Awful customer experience

Awful customer experience. Glasses took ages to send, then were sent back to Australia after landing in NZ. I was told by the CS team that it was my job to contact the courier company. They won't provide a refund, even though it's been almost 2 months since I ordered.

I can confirm that your order was processed and dispatched within the promised time however due to issues with our delivery agent the glasses were not delivered to you and have been returned.

As informed in our previous emails, we had agreed for the glasses to be resent to you once we receive them however we are still waiting on the delivery hence they have not been resent.

I understand you had requested a refund over the weekend and the same has been processed. Also, as compensation we are willing to send you a free pair and ensure it is delivered to you on priority, kindly contact our support team with your choice for us to have the needful done.

Good glasses, good price

I have purchased glasses 2x times from optically.
2x pairs each time and have been happy both times.
I'm aware now of the time it takes to receive them which can take time but if your wanting a better price than the optometrist in town this is a great way to go.
There communication is done by emails and in nz you receive the emails very late at night so it's a once a day response so it can take time but again the price is good and the glasses I have received in the past have been good.
I've just put in my 3rd order.
Can't wait for my next order.

Always great service. Used them a few times as the turn around was faster than the others I tried out. Also emails and messages always returned. Very professional service

Ok but long wait

Replacement lenses installed into existing frames as expected, but took over 4 weeks from when I sent off the glasses to when they came back. Luckily I found another company in Mt Roskill which did basically the same service on the same day for another pair of glasses I had, otherwise I would have been without glasses in the right prescription for over a month.

Great service at a reasonable price

I picked up some lovely frames online that I needed lenses for. Some of the local optometrists wanted to charge an arm and a leg, so it was wonderful to find this service. Great price and fast, friendly communication. Happily wearing my new glasses now. Thank you.

Appalling

Appalling. They are not based in New Zealand - their returns/refund policy is a lie - they will never refund you - and will give you the runaround for months. On top of which the delivery takes months and the prescription was wrong after that wait. Absolutely horrible experience - avoid like the plague.

BEWARE - TERRIBLE, SLOW, STILL NO GLASSES

BEWARE. I usually order from clearly and tried Optically because they had a good deal on multi-focal lenses. I ordered two pairs of glasses in January. In early March, after much chasing, was told that they didn't have the frame for one of the pairs I ordered. Was told to select another, more expensive pair and pay the difference. At the time I was told that they take 18-26 days for multi-focal lenses. Have had to order glasses somewhere else. I have attempted to cancel the order and was told that by selecting another pair I have in effect re-ordered and have to wait again. Also beware, the website says refund costs EXCLUDE refund for lenses, which is the bulk of the cost so have told them to supply both and will now wait for both pairs and hope they arrive and are the right prescription.

Please beware ordering from this site. I am two months out and still not glasses. I needed another pair in January. 8 days ago I order two pairs from Clearly because lost faith in this crowd, and those are in the post now and meant to arrive on Monday. I will stick with Clearly in the future.

EDIT: 19 April - Still no glasses. I have been told the replacement pair for the one that they couldn't supply was also not available. Thankfully they have refunded the unavailable one in full. The other pair is still not arrived. Last week the website said it had dispatched. I checked again today and it no longer says dispatched, says it is back in quality control.

Avoid this crowd. I ordered two pairs from clearly in March after it looked like I would never get these. They came within 10 days and am very happy with the clearly glasses.

Worst online experience ever

I have ordered my glasses 12th December 2021 and no update for a while so I contacted again around Chrismas time. They finally got back to me saying it will be dispatched next week and due to Christmas Holiday, it might take longer than usual for the arrival. My glasses arrived 20th January which means it took more than a month for the delivery.

Then 5 days later, the frame broke all of a sudden so I contacted them to see what they can do and they said they will send me the new frame only and asked me to bring it to the optician to regraze it. I asked one of the opticians how much it would cost and I passed the quote over to Optically and they said I would have to pay the cost of regrazing, not them, so I said the cost is more than the amount I paid for glasses, then they asked me to send broken frame for fixing. I was so shocked to know that they didn't know how much it would cost to regraze.

So I sent it on 11th February 2022 and no update for a while, and I contacted again on 27th February and they said my glasses have been handed to the logistics team to get them shipped to me on the same day...

And I finally got it on 14th March which is 14 days since the item was dispatched and to my surprise what I found in the parcel was dummy glasses....

I simply have no idea what is going on with their operation, but I simply will never use this service again.

Optically.co.nz a great option for customers wanting less expensive glasses. An honest and reliable business.

Great service and very pleased with the glasses.The prescription is accurate and the lenses well fitted. It was worth buying them online as opposed to going to a local optician and about 40% cheaper.Any questions l had were always answered promptly, honestly and politely. I was a bit hesitant about using this service, but needn't have worried. My only concern was that it took nearly two months to receive the glasses, but this was partly due to postal delays because of Covid. That said, l can confidently recommend this service to others!

Very Looong delivery - Clearly is better

First time to order at Optically, and I REGRET. They said it will be delivered in 10 days, it’s more than 20 days now and they said it still on the process of product check and will be dispatched after that.. what a deceiving delivery advert they had! Should definitely go back to CLEARLY, as they never failed early delivery as always.

Strongly NOT recommended

this is the worst online shopping experiences I had made
1st week (early Feb) - ordered two pairs
3rd week - i requested a delivery update; the first pair frame is broken and no stock; so it can't be processed further; the second pair is being processed still
4th week - i changed the first pair frame order; the second pair was dispatched; and tracking order was provided
5th week (early Mar) - the first pair received
6th week - chase an update; the second pair is being processed; and dispatched soon
7th week - no update (no tracking number)
8th week (mid March) - no update (no tracking number)
9th week - tracking number provided despite many requests for update
10th week - finally received.
