They will try to milk you for more money …
Went through the order process then they contacted me saying I needed an upgrade due to my prescription which I agreed to (more money) then they came back again asking for more money and I refused so they sent me glasses with the wrong prescription in one lens! Do not recommend
Good customer service & frames, poor wait time.
I had lenses put in existing frames and they were perfect on return.
The largest issues is the company looks Kiwi but they ship everything to Aussie, so time-frames are waaaay off. My frames took 6 weeks, not what was advertised. They should be honest on the website.
Regardless, for about $100 I have a good set of prescription sunglasses and they are far more expensive in NZ so it was worth the wait.
Shout out to Eva, she is a star. She assisted me and was patient and helpful. I know people emailing for updates and worrying about their order is frustrating. She handled it very well.

Do not buy from this company unless you are happy to give your money away with no guarantee of a product that will last. Bought frames from them which broke after 9 months , took out of case and fell apart in my hands. Company said no warranty as per website from receipt of delivery it’s no longer their issue . They don’t care about consumer guarantees act , they don’t care about their customers. Only solution offer was a different frame or nose piece at my own expense including paying for my own shipping . This company sells defective products and does not care one ounce about the customer. Buyer beware For those who see the canned reply from the company below please be aware I have sent multiple emails , photos & requests for a resolution , all I have been offered is a replacement nose bridge at my own cost & I have to pay postage, what’s worse is they offered that and don’t even know if they have one in stock . Honestly simply have zero care for their customers,

Placed order and paid - order was broken during manufacturing, requested refund and was confirmed. Two months later no refund, multiple emails to and from Optically - genuinely believe they are a NZ based SCAM company

Don't waste your money.
Waiting a month and a half. They sent a tracking number which shows no traction. Have been asking what's happening and keep getting empty promises that it's on it way and will be delivered end of each week. Wish I had read the reviews first as this service is appalling. Have asked for a refund and get told to wait 2-3 days for them to check status of my glasses. Which they have been checking for the past 3 weeks of me asking so doubt there is something new to tell.
Don't use this company unless you are happy to give your money away for free.

this is not a good company. I have been scammed. I paid over $140 for new glasses and nothing has arrived. they contacted me on the 6th August after my previous review and promised to get it sorted and refunded me the postage cost. But since then nothing. I will be contacting my bank to see if i can get the money reversed.

At this point in time it has been a month and no email updates or contact about my order. Email to 'customer service' bounced back as an invalid email. Contact number is a random whatsapp account - emailed today with a request for a full refund but little to no hope of that arriving.

Not great, but they regained some credit
I initially wrote a pretty scathing review after getting what seemed like a cookie-cutter response when my glasses didn't ship (damaged at the lab, no more in stock). I came on this site looking to see if the site was a scam and saw people were having my exact experience. Same responses, same excuses. I didn't hold high hopes for getting my refund (other peoples reviews said they were still waiting for their refunds).
I say all this to give context to the partial retraction of my initial review.
To Optically's credit, they did get back to me and I did receive my refund. Their service still leaves a lot to be desired. Their customer service is pretty patchy and the 72 hour guarantee doesn't appear to mean anything.
Some friendly advice for Optically (as I know their staff are reading this) would be that using robot voiced out of hours responses (especially at times that are within their advertised business hours?) and using whatsapp as a means of communication gives off a very "scammy" vibe.
I do appreciate that Optically made the effort to resolve my issues and if they improve their service I would probably try them again in the future.
Excellent reglaze, just takes way longer than expected
I used the Optically reglaze service for some frames purchased overseas.
The glasses were excellent when received back from Optically. They took ages but the finished product is very good.
Optically NZ were responsive to emails asking for ETA updates but need to probably set more realistic expectations for how long the service might take. This might avoid some of the negativity in other reviews. The website indicates reglazing 10-12 working days from receipt of frames. My frames were received by Optically NZ on 26 April and the finished glasses were received back today 25 June. Their confirmation email indicated it would take 14-28 business days from when they received them. It was therefore closer to 42 days. I was not in a hurry fortunately. Next time I would like to try the new frames as they appear to have a good selection and much cheaper than retail stores in NZ.
Absolute fraudulent company.
Absolute fraudulent company and should be wiped off the internet. Had the exact same dealings as another person where Optically claimed the frames “broke” in the lab, they were the “last ones” and I should chose another frame. Hideous.
The “online chat” goes directly to a WhatsApp cellphone number..

This is a fraudulent company. After Optically failed to process my order I requested a refund and, despite numerous correspondences over months via email in which they promise to complete the refund, my refund never materialised.
Very helpful service from Optically
Optically were very helpful in answered questions and in providing costs for my prescription which requires special lenses. The shipment to New Zealand was in a reasonable time. And the glasses matched the description.

I ordered glasses and heard nothing for weeks, then got no response and finally after asking for a refund was told the frames i ordered were broken, I picked new frames out, then was told they were broken too. So I picked new frames. Then I was asked for another 45 dollars as my prescription was so hard. It wasn't. When they finally arrived the prescription was wrong and I cant use them. never again. I cant read with them at all and the prescription I entered was correct , it worked perfectly on my previous glasses

Horrible, slow service, still waiting
Horrible service, horrible support.
This claims to be a local company, it is not. I'm a month into this experience, and I'm not even sure where the glasses I sent to reglaze are, they have been "in transit to Sydney" for three weeks.
Customer support seems to be there to delay and placate. Excuse after excuse, each contradicting the last. Responses come days late, no tracking, no updates unless I chase and then they are vague and ignore my questions, adding a diiferent excuse each time.
Shockingly bad experience, and I am left wondering when (or if) I will ever get my glasses back. Avoid at all costs, use literally any other reglazing service there is.

Communication was good
Communication was good. Cost was reasonable and competitive, My Glasses were unusual with larger frames which took longer than expected, However Mike kept me informed, I would recommend this company and use them again.
7 weeks to get glasses, excuses ++
Website states 5 to 10 working days if frame in stock . Took 7 weeks. Each time I emailed was given a different excuse when they bothered to reply . Customer service is shocking . They don't bother to email to advise of delays. I think the only reason they have a customer service department is to field of the complaints and enquiries about "where is my order!" And think up a new excuse . Definitely would not order from them again .very stressful experience.

Three weeks since I ordered my glasses still not here
Three weeks since I ordered my glasses, I am still waiting for delivery. Comms are slow. They gave me a shipment update two weeks ago from Aus Post, and if the actual item exists, it is somehow lost. I asked them to chase but promised but have not received a response. These people are not NZ-based; I don't think they are Aus-based. Avoid better options out there. Saying it was because of my unique script is a bit of a joke given you had this when I made my order traditional stores never had issue and got in a week
