I was very pleased with this tour and the company behind it. It was effortless on our part once we reached the destination. Our tour guide was fantastic!! Cannot commend him enough. Tour took us to the most wonderful locations. The hotel location was wonderful. Enjoyed the town of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi immensely. Wanted to stay! Visit Racy’s Cocktail Bar in the town of Sant Agata. Great food, drinks and atmosphere.

My husband and I are from the USA, and we enjoyed the Imperial Morocco & The Blue City Tour even though we picked the hottest time of the year. We went to experience the culture & food of Morocco, and I was on a quest for custom made shoes for my non-petite feet. Alas, I didn't find my shoes, but we had a fun and memorable time.
Our guides & driver were indigenous Amazigh (term I prefer over Berber) from the Happy Valley of the Atlas Mountains. Our main guide was Aziz who was invaluable to the group. I expected him to be knowledgeable and he was. He knew his way around every area we visited & he could truly find anything you needed...SIM cards, laundry service, duct tape- in a medina! Younes was our guide for only a couple of days & he shared his culture and hospitality with us. Our driver, Mustafa, got us to our destinations safely & had a varied musical playlist!
I appreciate my tourmates being kind and considerate when some of the walking was too much for me! All in all, Morocco was a memorable learning experience!

I had to cancel my trip due to having to replace the motor in my jeep. On The Go kept $985 of the $1500 I paid in. They are telling me they refunded the money to my card, but I no longer have that card. It has been one month and I still have not received my refund. They just keep telling me the funds have been released and to check with the bank. Do they not think I don't check with my bank every single day.

Aziz was a fantastic guide whose passion for Morocco’s rich history, culture, and traditions brought every destination to life. His depth of knowledge, patience, and attention to detail ensured we didn't just see the highlights—we truly understood and felt the spirit of the places we visited. He was consistently attentive to our comfort, always ready with thoughtful recommendations, and made every outing feel personal and engaging.

Our Driver, Mustafa
Navigating Morocco’s varied routes requires exceptional skill, and Mustafa made every leg of the journey smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. He was an exemplary driver: safe, punctual, completely calm behind the wheel, and extremely professional. The vehicle was kept immaculate, and long drives felt effortless thanks to his steady driving and warm demeanor.

Finishing the Journey with Younes
For the final couple of days, Younes looked after us and maintained that exact same exceptional standard of care. Warm, personable, and insightful, he stepped in seamlessly to guide us through the finish line, making sure the conclusion of our travel was just as memorable, fun, and well-organized as the beginning.

From start to finish, Aziz, Mustafa, and Younes turned a great itinerary into a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone planning a visit to Morocco!

I recently came back from tour of Slovenia and Croatia which was very well organised, visited many interesting/beautiful places , stayed in very good quality accommodation and was supported by — our wonderful guide Zlatko, and drive who did a great job looking after us. I would certainly recommend this tour.

We have used On the Go tours previously and this trip was as good as the other two we completed. We found that the administration of the trip was very competent and any matters that needed addressing was done so quickly and effectively by our fantastic tour guide Omar.
In terms of the tour itself, we found that Omar was the best tour guide we have ever had. He was very knowledgeable and competent across a huge range of subjects and issues. He was very engaging and made you feel that there was no problem that couldn’t be addressed. Thanks Omar, you were fantastic. Regards Tony and Tania.

Our tour was first rate. It was well organised, everything was taken care of, and our tour guide, Omar was the icing on the cake. He was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, friendly and caring, has a good sense of humour and related well to all on the tour.

This tour was totally overpriced for what they delivered. Only 3 days of activities, and just 2 dinners. Poor communication from tour guide and hotel was very basic-although the staff were very helpful. Did not cater well for older adults- had to wait in severe heat in Positano without shelter.
Also it needs to be up front that this tour caters for Irish tourists (who were lovely) but it does not communicate well with those who are not! We came from Australia and thought we would be On The Go Tour exclusively. We had no idea that it was run by another group called the Travel Department that is predominantly for the Irish!
We spent $7000AU between us. We could have visited those places ourselves and stayed in a nicer hotel for much less than that!

Me and my friend Susie had such a wonderful experience with On The Go Tours! Everything was so well organised, and the whole team was friendly, efficient and professional from start to finish.
Our tour guide Hung, was absolutely fantastic. He explained everything clearly, made sure the whole process was easy for everyone, and was always patient, helpful and approachable. His recommendations for places to visit and things to do during our free time were spot on and really helped us make the most of our trip.
The hotels were in great locations, clean and comfortable, with easy check-in and very helpful staff. The restaurants we visited also had great service, with friendly staff and everything running smoothly.
What really stood out was the amazing energy, patience and kindness of Hung throughout the whole tour. Very knowledgeable and he went above beyond to make sure everyone was happy and looked after.
We honestly can’t praise Hung and his team enough. Thank you so much for making our trip such a memorable and enjoyable experience.

On the Go tours was a great experience, fast, friendly and efficient. Our tour guide Hung explained everything clearly and made the process easy. Thank goodness for our guide, as first time travellers to this region (Vietnam) and getting on in years, Hung was brilliant. Travelling from top to bottom we were able to have many wonderful experiences. It was often wet and very hot however Hung catered for all situations. My husband ended up in hospital and thanks to our guide the situation controlled with a great outcome. Hungs knowledge was impeccable, he made it a fantastic trip.

We had an excellent experience with On The Go Tours and Amazing Borneo Tours. The itinerary was great and the tour guides were friendly and informed. Malaysia is fantastic and the accommodation and food were great.

Aziz our guide was excellent both in his local knowledge and verbal communication. Nothing was to much trouble for either Aziz or Lahcen our driver. The itinerary was very good and the accommodation in all night stops were fantastic with great facilities. Memorable in all accounts and a trip we would highly recommend.

I won’t comment on the sightseeing options, we enjoyed some and not others. But as these are subjective views we accept that other travellers might have a totally different opinion.

Instead I will comment on the organisation and arrangements which were mostly unsatisfactory.

When we received the final documentation I pointed out that although there were 3 train journeys there were only 2 sets of tickets. The response was that train tickets have the code VR as if that answered the point. I had to reiterate the issue and only then received a new document including all 3 tickets.

The airport and collection service was very efficient and much appreciated.

With the exception of the Home Hotel Jugend which had a charm of its own the other hotels were not up to 4 star standard. However, there was even a problem at the Jugend where we discovered upon checking out that the rate included afternoon tea and evening dinner! No one informed us of this and instead we unnecessarily spent over €80 on a restaurant meal.

The Scandic Grand Marina was well located but the service was substandard. On the first morning we left our room to go sightseeing and upon returning at about 4pm discovered that housekeeping had tidied our beds and emptied the bin but had left our soaking wet towels on the bathroom floor and hadn’t replaced my dirty tea cup.

The Hotel Sokos Kupittau was bright and modern but the lifts could not cope with the number of guests and the wait to get up or down was long. 

After unpacking upon arrival (about 6pm) we discovered that one of the lights in the bathroom (which incidentally was tiled with black tiles) wasn’t working. There were other lights but still it was  rather dark. Ringing down to reception proved fruitless, after some time no one answered, so I had to go down to reception deal with the issue personally at the reception desk.

It proved too late in the day to have maintenance sort out the problem and they did offer us a change of room but as we expected the problem to be sorted the following morning we decided to live with the dark bathroom. However, when we returned from sightseeing late afternoon the next day it still hadn’t been sorted. Once again we were offered a change of room but as we had unpacked and were leaving early the following morning we declined.

On our first morning we discovered at breakfast that very many tables were full of dirty crockery and had not been cleared and cleaned. This made it difficult to find an empty table. In the end we cleared a table ourselves and put the used crockery on another dirty table.

But the biggest complaint was not with the hotel itself but with the hapless arrangements in getting to it. We didn't realise until too late that the train from Helsinki to Turku actually stopped in Kupittau and the station was in the same complex as the Hotel Sokos! Had we been prepared we could have got off there but instead went on to Turku thus requiring a taxi journey costing €21. Why was the ticket not just to Kupittau or why were we not informed to be prepared to get off there? To their credit, we were offered a €21 rebate.

We arrived in Tampere at about 6pm on the Saturday and the Hotel Sokos Torni couldn't find our reservation. When I quoted their reference they discovered that the booking had been made at the Hotel Sokos Torni in Helsinki! So we were stranded without a hotel, which made us quite anxious. I eventually got through to a woman on the emergency number. She was very efficient and within half an hour had booked us into the Scandic Positalo and notified the Sauna Tour to pick me up from there the next day and not the Sokos. However the Positalo was only 3 star and we had booked and paid for 4 star accommodation. On-The-Go claim it was also 4 star but that was clearly not the case. In fact on Tripadvisor it only scored 2.9! According to booking.comthe difference in the room rate was €47 per night so that was €94 of value paid for and not received. On-The-Go refused to reimburse us.

Overall we found the organisation very inefficient and we paid for their expensive mistakes. I certainly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else or use them again

Recently completed Turkey unplugged tour hosted by the wonderful Metin Edzi.
The tour met all our expectations regarding sights offered, meals and accommodation. Metin with his immense experience provided a broad depth of knowledge and insight which was delivered with great enthusiasm and passion
The additional “Back streets” and Bosphorus tours gave an extra insight into Istanbul and Türkiye history.

⭐ 1 Star — Very disappointing for a NZ$11,000+ private tour

We paid more than NZ$11,000 for two people for On The Go Tours’ 11-day Italy tour from Venice through Florence, Naples, the Amalfi Coast and Capri to Rome.

We chose and paid for a private tour because we expected a much higher-quality, more personalised and seamless experience.

On The Go Tours describes its private Italy tours as “high quality”, with “excellent hotels”, transport and guided sightseeing. That was certainly the standard we expected for the price we paid.

Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of that.

We expected a private tour to provide good levels of guided assistance, properly organised connections between hotels, tours and trains, and a much more seamless experience, rather than repeatedly having to make our own way to connecting tours and trains.

We also had serious concerns about some of the hotel choices and their locations. For a tour costing more than NZ$11,000 for two people, we expected good-quality hotels in good, appropriate locations. Some of the locations left us uncomfortable about walking around the surrounding areas, particularly at night.

The tour was also not as guided as we expected. We were frequently left to manage parts of the itinerary ourselves, which was not the premium, well-supported experience we believed we were paying for.

We raised all of these concerns with On The Go Tours after returning home and gave them the opportunity to address them.

Unfortunately, their final response was that they were not prepared to offer any compensation or meaningful remedy.

That was extremely disappointing.

Italy itself was wonderful, and there were enjoyable parts of the holiday. This review is about On The Go Tours and the quality and value of the tour we received.

For more than NZ$11,000 for two people, we expected a considerably higher standard of organisation, accommodation, guidance and personal assistance.

In our opinion, the tour did not deliver the standard of service and value we reasonably expected from a private tour at this price.

I would advise anyone considering this tour to carefully establish exactly how much guided assistance, personal support, transfers and hotel quality they will actually receive before booking.

Very expensive tour that did not deliver what was advertised

We paid a significant amount for an expensive small-group, fully guided tour, but the experience did not match what was advertised.

Our driver-guide repeatedly left us to find our own way around at stops, meaning we often relied on our own phones and Google Maps. On ferry crossings, he did not consistently ensure everyone was together, and on one occasion we were left at the ferry terminal despite being told we would be collected, with no way to contact him.

I also had a documented shellfish allergy. When an issue arose, we were essentially left to deal with it ourselves and were even told we had gone to the wrong country. Communication with the guide was another major issue. Several of us asked him to slow down and face us when speaking because we were struggling to understand him. Instead, we were repeatedly told to “listen better.”

There were also inaccurate booking information and other issues during the trip, along with promises about photographs/information that were never followed through.

What is perhaps most disappointing is how On The Go Tours handled our complaint. They acknowledged some issues, including that incorrect information had appeared on their website, but ultimately concluded that the tour was delivered “substantially” as advertised and refused any compensation.

The scenery in Scotland was fantastic, and we enjoyed the company of several fellow travelers. However, the level of guiding, organisation and customer support did not justify the premium price we paid.

If you are considering booking with On The Go Tours, I would strongly recommend reading the details carefully and not assuming that “fully guided” means the guide will actually accompany you throughout the stops, or provide the level of support you might reasonably expect from such an expensive tour.

A group of 8 family members traveled together ranging in age from 31 to 86. My mother uses walking sticks, W
walker and a times a wheelchair. On the Go Tours reviewed our itinerary and contacted each stop and gave us a detail of each ones accessibility so that we could make plans for each stop on the tour.

The tour guide and driver were amazing throughout our tour with their knowledge and enthusiasm.
