Parking at Luton is the worst…
Parking at Luton is the worst experience ever…. The drop off area is temporary whilst repairs to the multi storey car park. You get 5minutes for £5, thereafter £1 per minute. Dropped a single passenger yesterday, had to wait for a car to move before being able to park, passenger retrieved bag from boot, quick hug and on our way. Had to stop at pedestrian crossing (red light), waited for green light before being able to exit. Went to pay online….. ended up 4minutes, so just within minimum payment….. phew.
Parking is a joke
Absulte chaos trying to get out of the drop off zone today at 13.30. No traffic control, only 1 staff in attendance shrugging his shoulders. Got there at 13.29, couldn't get out until 13.54, so now may have to pay a penalty charge! Chatted online, they fobbed me off with it's not under their control...but the airports. Absolutely ridiculous!
Congratulations to all the staff…
Congratulations to all the staff including the passport control. Both outgoing Thursday and returning today Sunday the whole experience was excellent.
Are you deliberately trying to be the…
Are you deliberately trying to be the worst airport in the country? Over an hour’s wait for bags (at 3am) with no one present to take accountability. No announcements at all. Not one single person from the airport or the airline (EasyJet). You all hide behind screens and behind each other. For the flight fares and taxes we pay you ought to be ashamed. But you’re not. You pat yourselves on the back thinking you got away with it. Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic.
Very expensive
Very expensive and very slow with everything. The prices are sky-high for even things that used to be free. I am not overly impressed what this airport has turned into.
Alternative Screening Methods not ALLOWED
Security staff will trample you right to screening ...if you ask to opt out of the millimetre wave "tombstone" screening gate, they will talk to you very condescendingly and treat you like a criminal. No matter that your bag has passed the x-ray screening machine, they will make you wait until some higher ranks ass scratching super trooper employee will finally come to you with a patronising attitude, they WILL separate you from your hand bag and will take you in a back room where they will pat search you (they will refuse to do it in front of the security gate - on the spot even the procedure is EXACTLY the same as if the security gate beeps on some forgotten keys / metal in your pockets), then, go back to your hand bag and spill all the content out, looking for illegal item, bear in mind the bag already has been through x-ray and was cleared, (maybe they'll plant something in your bag when they take you in the back...?), obviously, after finding NOTHING illegal on you or in the bag, they will threaten you into giving all your details...
They are not police.... they’re only EMPLOYEES assigned to security check. They have no power to open your bag or get your id details. If you refuse, they threaten to not allow you to travel despite you pass the security screening.... They WANT your information so they can black list you.
Every single time i fly from Luton i get the same treatment - TO BE MADE AN EXAMPLE - HOW DARE YOU OPT OUT OF THE MACHINE SCREENING...
BTW, that makes you think of what else the machine can see and the pat down (hand) search can't...?!? Maybe more people should opt out…
OPT OUT should be verbally not on a form that requires all your information.
Staff at security very intrusive, when you say "for medical reasons" they will ask for details. They have no manners and no respect for your privacy. If you argue your case, they ARE threatening you with flight denial. YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS and you are a smuggler if you want to opt out of machine screening
Now, when i travel a add an extra 1-2 hours to pass the pat down search, and I am prepared to even LOSE the flight if that is what it takes to have my rights, I am not a criminal hiding contraband or illegal items, just don’t take easy the tyrants at every single turn
If you ask the staff involved to identify themselves they will refuse or just give some “designated” code and no information about complaints procedures….

Absolute rip off airport. Just arrived back and required a baggage trolley. You now charge £2.00 for the privilege of using it. What an absolute rip off. I use other uk airports who do not charge for this service. We pay enough to use the airport and i live locally. In my opinion this airport has not improved in 20 years and has gone further backwards. Long baggage waits, charges upon charges for basic services you would expect. I will travel further and not use this airport ever again. Rip off britain…….!!!!!!
Too far
Our first and last visit to Luton Airport was quite challenging. I had to walk a long distance to reach departures, which was particularly difficult due to my disability. Inside the terminal, there were no signs to guide us, and I didn’t see any staff members available to assist.
When we arrived at the self-service machines, we were incorrectly charged for a weight of 0.6 grams. One staff member came over to help, but they couldn’t stop the payment and refused our request to speak with a manager. This situation was stressful and unnecessary. At that point, I was in so much pain that I needed to sit down, but there were no seating options available. Additionally, there were no charging points for our devices while we waited.
Although the Accessibility department and the staff were excellent, the overall experience did not provide a great start to our holiday.
Passenger service helper Charles drake
We had passenger services help for disability and a lovely young guy called Charles drake helped us through all the different checks and he was a delight friendly helpful and nothing was too much trouble he was a credit to the job thank you Charles
Absolutely disgraceful
Absolutely disgraceful, by far the worst airport experience. I’ve seen better in developing countries. Massive queues for the toilets, disabled person waiting 20 minutes to get into a toilet only to find none had any loo roll. They cannot handle the amount of people they have there. Utterly disappointing, it’s my local airport but from now on will go further afield.

My daughter has additional needs and wears a sunflower lanyard. When we were going through passport control one of the security staff saw us and ushered us through to 'priority'. This saved her so much less stress and anxiety. This happened every step of the way until we reached the plane. On our return the same thing happened. Every member of staff we met were so friendly and professional. We never even knew this 'was a thing'. We thought the lanyard was just to indicate to people the she had additional needs and that people may be a bit more patient. Thank you to all the staff
Worst airport in the UK
Luton Airport is the the worst airport in the UK by far. Parking is incredibly expensive, the entire airport is a building site, the main entrance/exit is just chaos, moving around the over crowded terminal is a nightmare and there are no airbridges. It reminds of a 1960's airport when customer consideration and care did not exist. Would have scored it a zero if I could!
Avoid Luton if you can
It truly continues to live up to its reputation as the worst airport in the country.
My recent experience travelling with my four sisters, three of which need special assistance was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had of special assistance.
We waited for what seemed an eternity for the ‘ cherry picker’ to help us and many others requiring assistance off the plane. We were ALL then bundled on to one of these where four of us had to stand. The driver wasn’t considerate of how many people or that there was an unsecured walker on board.
Then when we got to passport control we were told after waiting around 15 mins that we were likely to have to wait at least another 10 mins.
It really was such an awful end to a lovely holiday.

I was leaving England this morning with my family, and I lost my passport in the trey when checking the clothes. The staff were really helpful and Mr. Tariq helped me find it quickly

Avoid the drop off / pick up area ar Luton Airport. They charge £5 for the first 5 minutes, then £1 for every minute thereafter. The area was congested at the time, I spent 11 minutes in the congested traffic, Luton Airport charged me £11 for the privilege. I would suggest using the Mid Stay car park fir picking up / drop off, it's free for the first 15 minutes. Its a longer walk to the airport but you save time on traffic congestion and charges
Feed-back
I write to give some feedback about my experience of being a Luton airport customer.
It is with great upset that I am writing this email as today’s experience was no different to my many previous ones. Out of all airports I have travelled from and to, in the UK and elsewhere, Luton remains the one which has constantly been so poor in terms of the staff attitude to customers: very rude, abrupt, bullying, discriminatory and disrespectful. I am a British citizen and I wonder where is the British politeness and respect to individuals. Where is the well known respect and consideration of diversity?
It has been years since I have been using this airport and although I have seen a tiny improvement in the staff’s attitude towards customers, this still remains a massive problem.
I am thinking of no longer using this airport at all and like me, there are so many others who think the same.
I hope you will give this some thought and your team will address this issue. Your polite and apologetic reply won’t change the whole experience that customers have day by day. So, I really hope you will not just discard thi but give it a bit of consideration.
With many thanks,
A customer

Luton is the worst airport in the country. Parking is a rip off and to top it all £43.50 to print a boarding pass at the airport! Technically issue stopped us doing this on line, so you would think you could just check in at the airport! Not a Luton without a stupid charge.
Avoid Luton Airport
We used Luton Airport earlier this month for the first time and in 40 years of flying Luton Airport is the worse airport I have ever experienced. We certainly won’t be using Luton Airport again. Badly organised, security staff with a shocking attitude, no management available to speak too, absolutely no sense of basic customer service. Avoid using Luton Airport, there are plenty of other airports in London who actually appreciate having passengers.

Yet another terrible experience at Luton Airport. Awful attitude from staff and shocking standard of customer service with them shouting at travellers and hanging around with little interest in general not least for the elderly.
