Terrible customer service. Merchants should have a grace period. Emergencies arise where the coupon event cannot be redeemed. Groupon is very understanding about it and will give FULL refunds. And that is why I will continue my business with Groupon and NOT LivingSocial. I purchase at LEAST one/two coupons per week. Because they were not accommodating with my situation, a single $100 voucher cost them literally thousand of dollars of my future business. Good riddance!!

The following is a slightly altered (for clarity only) extract from the last of a long series of e-mails I have exchanged with Living Social UK re. a pair of flip flops I purchased 29 days ago through this group discount site from Beauty Fit (UK), which never arrived. I think it speaks for itself.

"In order for your fine print to accurately represent the T & C of our contract it should state:
“Please allow 14 days for delivery of the product from the date of redemption of the voucher. If however, your product is not delivered by the merchant within this period despite multiple attempts by you to resolve the problem directly with the merchant, the merchant not being contactable by telephone because it does not not answer it and does not accept voicemail and not replying to e-mails re. refunds whilst also lying to you twice about the date of delivery and most, importantly, never sending the product, we will send you repeated fob off e-mails in reply to your complaint about the merchant we chose to represent. Then, if you persist in your complaint, we will eventually pay lip service to sorting the problem out with the merchant but then do nothing except send you factually incorrect, self justifying e-mails, explaining that it is not our problem that you are out of pocket owing to the at best shoddy business practices of our merchant. Finally, when we have decided that you are indeed something of a nuisance, we will offer you credit to purchase items on our website, rather than actually offer you a full refund including the additional shipment and delivery costs."
NEVER USE LIVING SOCIAL.

We purchased tickets for a two back to back sooccer games with unlimited food and drinks at The Redskins stadium in Washington on 06/07/2014. We flew there fom Atlanta GA.
The "unlimited" Food and drinks were taken away in front of our eyes 30 min. after the first game began! The staff didn't care to explain anything! They just rushed the drink coolers and the food out without saying a word! Actually,when I asked one of the staff members if I could get something to drink, he grumbled, "NO"!

I purchased a voucher for a whitening service, and was treated like a nuisance to the woman at the salon.

I called to request a refund, and was told that the woman had marked it redeemed, so I could "call her and talk it out."

Absolutely insane. This is a horrible company.

Bought a Bluetooth speaker, never received Any shipping or order confirmation or the item weeks after ordering, so I put through a PayPal dispute to get my money back. Just another Internet scam, avoid at all costs or buyer beware, And use the PayPal option

Bought a deal is Living Social for a voucher with Ministry of Deals. Order not fulfilled 6 weeks later. Living Social not interested - very unhelpful! Both thieves.

I arranged to purchase some goods through this web-site and initially had problems with the voucher reclaim process which is difficult and challenging. On making a request for help they abrogated their responsibility by referring me to the retailer; very unhelpful. On receiving the goods, Mach3 Razor Blades, I found them to be of an inferior quality and internet enquiries suggested that they were fake/counterfeit. Again, believing that 'Living Social' had both a legal and moral duty of care to customers, I contacted them again, only to receive an uninterested response and to be informed that it was not their problem! My experience suggests that other potential customers of both 'Living Social' & 'Nifty Spot' need to be aware!

Beware of livingsocial.. got totally ripped off by these guys, I practically handed over my hard earned cash for a promised discount voucher. DID not get this discount, which I had to pay full price again. They told me since I purchased with dealbucks they cannot refund my money.. which is utter bullshit as I have PROOF that I paid by credit card. Then they APOLOGIZED for that mistake, but still say it's company policy to refund in "deal bucks" - note this IS AFTER they admitted that refund is possible given certain circumstances. Which MY circumstances is within THEIR conditions of refund!!!

I ordered a lovely umbrella back in January for my daughter's birthday present. I noticed that my bank account had been debited with the money almost immediately. I never received the umbrella. Contacted customer service via the email address provided. Got reply straightaway saying that they would "look into it and re-order it". Never happened. Never received goods and never got a refund. Will not be using LivingSocial again. BEWARE

Bought a cheap deal for my hair after being unemployed for a while phoned the hairdresser Kool hair and did this 3 times only to be told cant have the date I want. Now I have not redeemed my voucher so am entitled to my money will they give a refund no. I wanted a particular date as am off to London next day to a concert. If he had let me book in feb for may I would have got 13th!! What an idiot. Now Living Social do not want to know have booked a hair appointment elsewhere costing me more but hey I got in right away- should make them pay for that as well!!!!!!!!!! Not Happy. What happened to the customer is always right???? Wont buy from them again.

I had a problem with one of their seller daviedeals.com. I paid for an item on the 23rd of March, today is the 6th May and I still don't have it! They said they would sent me a complimentary item, then proceeded to tell me they would send it in their own time! LivngSocial has been helping me throughout this and they have kept n regular contact sorting this out for me. I have bought other things through this site and not had any other problems.

I bought a voucher for a local hairdresser. After several attempts to book an appointment by phone I contacted Living Social's so called "Customer Service". My treatment was dreadful. The inference was that I was lying to get a refund. They would not refund my purchase. I tried contacting the salon by email and completed their online enquiry form but there was no reply. I have lost my money.

As long as you don't need customer service it seems fine. But in case of any problem with retailer of the voucher you buy, consider the money lost as livingsocial CS is pathetic.

They know how to take your money but they don't know how to ship your product! I had to fight with one of their providers to receive my product in a month. Placed another order with them thinking it would be better.... not at all! The site said they would ship the product and have it by the following Friday. It has been 8 days and it still has not shipped. I was told it would ship in the next couple days, yeah right.
After I receive this order (or should I say if I receive this order), there will not be a 3rd chance. I am done!

absolutely no customer service. Their advice is to "read the fine print". You are not going to get any service from Livingsocial.

Living social sucks because I work for Groupon

I bought some resistance bands - the clip broke after being used twice. POOR QUALITY, RUBBISH ITEM - NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE,

They would not give a refund. In my experience they are running a very very poor and inadequate service.
They have cheap low quality items .

I have to say that for the most part Living Social has been "ok" to use ... buyer must beware and read all of the fine print.
Once bitten, twice shy - I now make sure I read everything, compare and then purchase.
I have been refunded for false claims, etc - no issues.
This week, unfortunately, Living Social has ran a "deal" for $59 "FOR A $150 VALUE SILVER PACKAGE AUTO DETAILING at City Automotive (in Rexdale, Toronto - ON).
I reviewed the package and compared it to the same package on City Automotive's website.
They dropped a main feature (car interior shampooing) - in essence you are not getting the deal they proclaim.
Upon calling the owner at City Automotive (who refused to identify his name) - said that he was "fed up with people not reading everything before they purchase the coupons) ....
I then contacted Living Social - "who apologized profusely - didn't quite understand the point I was making and suggested if I were not happy that I might want to consider going direct to City Automotive to ensure I get the entire package at their regular rate".
Really?????
Sorry, Living Social! That is completely false advertising and misleading - NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Buyers, BEWARE!

First they cancel a voucher and didn't bother to tell me so I was waiting around all afternoon for nothing. Then on a separate occasion I purchased a voucher however there was a problem with the merchant and when I went to cancel they refused to refund my money. Terrible!!!

I bought two vouchers for the Hog Shack restaurant in Richmond BC from Living Social that I gave to my niece and nephew. My niece went to the restaurant for lunch and they told her it was redeemed already. How could it redeemed, I gave it to her personally and it's first time she was going use it. I called Living Social to report the voucher had been redeemed. They are so fake on call being really nice saying we'll do everything we can to help you when really they are not going to help you at all. I should have been credited for that loss. I asked to speak directly to a manager two times on the 4 or 5 phone calls to them and nobody would put me through to a manager probably because there isn't one. I am so disgusted with Living Social that they believed the Hog Shack restaurant over me, the consumer who was telling the truth so I told them I was done with them and to cancel my account effective immediately. They don't care about you. Give your business to Groupon, a much better company.
