Very helpful operator who appeared to understand my issue and gave some useful pointers

Great actionable advice. I did not have to wait long. I also appreciate that I could get advice by email/message and phone. The advisor on the phone was knowledgeable and gave me useful ideas to solve my issue.

Appointment was easy to book online with repeated reminders on text and email a few days before. Waited 15 minutes on the phone line from confirmed time slot until an advisor became available.

Jacenta was pleasant and professional and reassured me of my rights as a leaseholder. She emailed a few links to other information that were very useful. I felt confident and prepared me to raise my concerns with the management company.

Had a mixed experience, some initially good heartening advice, then a delay in response followed by what seemed strong advice which turned out not to be the correct advice so am not sure what to think to be honest.

Of no use …….. no use whatsoever I have learnt by myself that a lease holder is nothing more (actually a lot less ) then a secure tenet in social housing

I have received advice from the Leasehold Advisory Service on several occasions, on behalf of the residents management company for our block of flats. I have always found the advisors to be very knowledgeable and helpful.

We are caught in the trap of the cladding fiasco, which the government will not support in its true financial requirement. After more than one year of waiting for their decision to award us costs for the cladding and its replacement, we still do not know if we are going to be hit with impossible amounts for which, as two old retirement couples (my wife and I), we have no means of raising loans, which we would not want to do in any event.

The Lessee company is well aware of the government's statement that Building Owners should accept responsibility, pay for the work and recover from those responsible for all defects.

In our case, the Building Owners are making no effort to do this nor are they taking any action to assist us by making a contribution: they extend full responsibility to their leaseholders, whom they must now fully understand had no part in our building's demise. To link this to the Grenfell tragedy as "maintenance" is a disgrace. In my opinion, a Building Owner is a risk taker, relying on the large majority of Lessees to meet their financial obligations and thereby give them a healthy profit. But our owners are taking no financial risk on this occasion and making no reward to us out of the profits that we have produced.

I am personally very disturbed that a plainly false Building Control Certificate, which was issued to me, allowed me to buy something that was so seriously wrong, which the developer should not be allowed to escape from, but for which we cannot take legal action on because after first paying for this repair work (probably some £40,000 per flat) we do not have any money left to take a long legal track to a court action. So, we lose anyway!

Very happy with the leasehold advisory service - - the advice give impartial, objective and above all helpful - Thank you!

The service provided is fairly basic and, in my experience, offers limited practical value. The guidance tends to remain at a very high level and does little to assist with real-world situations.

This is a government-funded service that appears to exist primarily to legitimise an outdated and inherently unfair system. The primary function seems to be procedural rather than outcome-driven.

I was particularly surprised to learn that advisers are not qualified solicitors. Given this, the guidance offered felt closer to informal opinion than professional legal advice, despite being presented as authoritative and practitioner-led.

Overall, the service gives the impression of existing more as a policy safeguard than as a genuine mechanism for delivering justice. It does little to address the structural imbalance faced by leaseholders and reinforces the sense that there is limited political will to pursue meaningful reform.

The lady that I talked to was very helpful and precise!
