I had a very poor experience with HSS Hire from start to finish.

The skip was delivered a full day late, which caused unnecessary disruption to my plans. Despite this, customer service showed little interest in resolving the issue. I had to chase four separate times just to get any form of response, and even then no meaningful solution was offered.

To make matters worse, I ordered a 12-yard skip specifically for my waste requirements, only to be told by the actual skip provider that I wasn’t allowed to use it for that type of waste. As a result, I was forced to fill it as if it were an 8-yard skip, effectively paying for capacity I couldn’t use.

Overall, the level of customer service was unacceptable. There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused, no attempt to put things right, and no offer of even a partial refund.

I would not recommend HSS Hire based on this experience.

I was able to buy the digging tools that I needed for a garden landscaping project for a much better price than I had found anywhere else. They arrived exactly as described, well-packaged and within the promised 24 to 48 hours.

Great telephone service, good product & price. Fast delivery on time with great helpful delivery drivers.

Despite being promised delivery on Friday(had the garden being done Saturday) and chasing it on the Friday at 4pm to be told it would definitely be with me by 5.30 it did not turn up.
I called them on Saturday to cancel the order and to refund me all costs. I was told this had been put on the system. Monday I received an email to say they were on the way and I replied saying I had cancelled the order. I then got a call from the delivery driver saying he had put them in my garden. I told him I was not accepting the order and to take them away. When I got home they were still in the garden.
A total lack of communication and ignoring my requests is beyond a joke. They have had my money and now I’m left with extra sleepers that I do not need.
If you need something from this company forget it. Use someone that values their customers and offer a least some type of customer service

Delivery was scheduled for 10th April. Waited in all day but order didn't arrive. Received an email at the end of the day confirming delivery on 11th April. Only half the order arrived on the 11th. Told by the driver that the remainder of the order would arrive 13th April. Requested delivery by 10am but it arrived after 1pm. I lost and entire weekend of work. Very poor for a company like HSS.

Great product, great price and fast delivery

Very easy to find the product we needed on the web site and order . Delivery window was just two days from order .
The delivery driver was so nice and managed to drop the ton bag of soil well in side your garden clear of the drive .

Used the live chat proservice . Spoke to a very helpful adviser, Daniel N. who my order up for me so all I had to do was pay. Also gave me useful tips on how to use the equipment. Would definitely use the live chat service again

Absolutely awful company, would never pick again. I rented a sander and edge sander, alongside buying items required to restore my floorboards. Due to be delivered on Friday but when I called on Friday to ask for an update it turns out my order had been rescheduled to Monday due to no availability. I asked to cancel my order as i needed the items for the weekend and not on Monday. Received an email for a refund for not the full amount. Such poor communication and handling of the issue.

Awful experience with HSS, should have been easy, order, choose a date and get delivered but no... date of delivery got extended by 5 days then waited in all day for delivery not to turn up. Called the day after to be told it says delivered which it definitely had not been. To get told then it would be delivered Friday morning for it to not turn up again then to be told on the phone it wasn't in stock. Waste of time company.

Skipped Wickes and went direct to supplier HSS. Soil was top quality and dry wich made it easy to go down. Very pleased and price included delivery.

Since my previous 4 star review of topsoil. Got another delivery. One bag was torn, soil very wet and full of rubbish in the soil. Complained and have been promised a refund - not seen it yet. Be careful quality varies.
