I just recently happened upon this particular store again after a few years. I tried their online store this time round & was very pleasantly surprised at what quality & quantity of stock that you can now purchase whilst utilising their website.
I purchased around £50 worth of goods, including, cat meat, toiletries ect.. Which would usually have cost about £200. So happy as well with the delivery & purchases.
If I had have shopped in their physical store, goodness knows how much produce that I would have purchased. I am really emphatic!!!!. Thank you Home Bargains you have restored my faith again within a credible online store environment!!!

Forced to pay twice despite first payment showing as approved returned to the store and then had to fight for a refund to be told they knew about issues with the payment machine in the end demanded the store call the police despite having clear evidence of the duplicated transactions bank statement and receipts double check your bank account. No direct contact number for customer services. If this had of been someone who could not afford to have £50 tied up for a week should not treat customers like this dicussting

Bought a few things today at Ashington. Struggled around the shop with my walker and was obviously in pain and struggling, staff watched on without offering help. Was overchanged £1 at the till and when I mentioned it was told I must have dropped it then completely ignored. Mistakes happen, and I wouldn't have waited for a till check as it was just £1 and I had to be somewhere, but treating customers with such contempt is inexcusable. I won't be back.

I bought a Parasol base yesterday at Golden Valley Cheltenham store. Lovely young man lifted it into trolley, checkout lady asked if I needed someone to put it into my car and promptly another young man appeared and accompanied me to my car. Great service, thank you. P.S, I am 82 but don't look it :)

Went into St Albans home bargain on Saturday morning with my elderly friend it felt like we were in supermarkets sweep the quiz show what used to be on the telly because people were grabbing things off the shelf not stay excuse me to my friend some of them were but not all of them and she was almost knocked to the ground a couple of times if I hadn't been with her someone might have done this to her she is 86 years old and very frail she wanted to see the new home bargains so I took her there on Saturday and if she hurt her self her son would take legal advice about this ?

Myself and my mum are both quite disabled and have difficulty in carrying out every day tasks. We went to our local branch of home bargains - seacombe to do some shopping and 2 members of staff in particular were very helpful. Their names were Zoe and Vicky. They went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us to carry the shopping out to our car and place it in for us and even pack it for us in our bags. Very very much appreciated!

New store in St Albans has a bakery. I purchased white chocolate cookies that are un edible - I put this review on here to warn other shoppers. I have no idea how you can make white chocolate cookies be utterly disgusting

I placed a large online order for delivery with home bargains and they sent it with evri. The order was split into 2 boxes, but they would have been large and heavy. When they arrived at the local depot for delivery, they sat there for days without being delivered. When I contacted evri, they told me that they couldn't deliver the order and to contact home bargains for a refund or replacement. I don't know if the boxes were damaged or if my local evri driver just couldn't deliver them due to size and weight, as he only has a small vehicle. I had to ring evri and home bargains and was on the phone for ages to both. I cancelled the order, as home bargains would have just sent it with evri again. Now I've got to sit and wait for evri to deliver the whole thing back to home bargains before they will refund me. What happens if evri don't return the items back to home bargains or if home bargains don't scan it back into their warehouse? It was a lot of money and now I'm out of pocket with nothing to show for it. What an absolute shambles. This could have been avoided if home bargains had used a different courier with a larger van and 2 man team such as DPD, yodel, royal mail, parcelforce. Obviously evri must be the cheapest, but they are absolutely the most useless courier in the country. I'm disabled and in a lot of pain and don't need this kind of stress. I wish I had looked at the trustpilot reviews before I ordered, as it would have put me off ordering at all. Home bargains and evri need to get their act together regarding home deliveries. DPD would have had this order delivered no problem, but they have to be greedy and use the cheapest option, evri, even when the parcels are too big and heavy for the local evri driver. I've now had to buy some of the items online elsewhere, so I'm out of pocket again now.

We visited Morecambe ,Westgate,Home Bargains today.We bought lots of lovely things,and got lots of bargains.Big Thankyou to the lovely Lady Jessica W,who helped us with our shopping and packing,and looked after my Mother .Also Thankyou to all the lovely staff who checked my Mam was okay ,as she needs to have a little sit down when out shopping.Thankyou all ,you are all kind,caring and Superstars.The Metcalfe Family .

Purchased a suitcase and my bad luck but the lock broke on 1st use. The staff at the store were amazing. So kind and helpful about it and promptly replaced it there and then instore. Lovely staff and so hard working. Please be kind to them as they really do work so hard.

Customer service seems to be non existent at this store. I didn't send an email to complain about the Livingston store, I sent a fully detailed letter to customer complaints. That was 2 months ago and I'm still waiting on a reply. Extremely poor service and an ignorant attitude. Just hope that nothing goes wrong on your visit!!!

I placed an order for 4 troughs on 3 May
The payment is marked as pending in my bank account but I haven't received any email confirmation of the order, so I don't know if they are out of stock or whether the order will be fulfilled. These are for a specific gift so I need to know what's happening in case I need to buy elsewhere.

My sister and me have just been in Barnsley Home bargains .Lee was very professional and had a great personality thankyou Lee for making our day .

Bought a light that did not work was broken, I asked for help I was told to return the light to the store in Hawick

Which would cost me appox £12.00 in fuel to get a light value approx £3.00

I've been a regular customer at Barnsley Peel Street store.the staff are friendly and helpful,always a pleasure to shop there.one of the managers I know by the name Lee,is extremely efficient and a credit to your store,he often takes time out to speak to my disabled son,who now says Lee is my friend

We got the jelly bean game and it’s normally a fun , not serious just a few gross flavours but this one that we got got from home bargins was spicy flavours and when we realised they were like chilli, jalapeño we thought it could be that bad as it’s a kid game in the kids area and it was the strawberry or chilli one that she had to eat and it was crazy spicy , she was crying , drinking milk and holding an ice pop on her tongue do not buy these for anyone will lower spice tolerance as this ruined her birthday celebrations they should not sell this with out labels say that is really spicy 😡

A bin for £29.99 i took a photograph of the lable and asked the lady at the counter (showing her the photo), can i have one of these please from stock. I was told it was the one off the shelf, fair enough i went and fetched it and bought it back to the counter. She said the lable wasn't stuck down properly and was showing a 30ltr bin NOT a 50ltr bin on their system. Got many members of staff to check on floor stock to which I insisted being part of it, they found NO other bin that matched this sale.... After leaving me feeling like I had done something untowards (their words, "changing lables") I nearly told them to shove the bin somewhere. I'm better than that and now have rubbish in it, smiling and thinking how RUBBISH and INSULTING Home Bargains Staff were in Merryhill today. 10/05/2026.

I spend a lot of money weekly...the loughton branch are ill advised pretentious and rude...returned a faulty item didn't have original packaging...who does after having it for over a month..! The product is only available here but was telling me without it I couldn't get a refund or credit note...I replied that's rubbish consumer law states 12 months warranty on goods purchased...when I tried to correct the young man he said I was rude when I asked why.... his sidekick on the till said I was rude too and I didnt know what I was talking about...strange as when I was waiting for them to decide what to do about me at the back of the store..every customer in that queue agreed I was correct...and that the young man looked put out...so I think I'll avoid now at least until the staff change...bad attitude can't see them lasting anywhere long term anyway...

When Evri lost part of my order I had to reorder the missing items. The lovely lady I spoke to at Home Bargains (Sakshi) promptly arranged a refund for missing items and the delivery costs.

New store just opened in St Albans very disappointed staff not very polite for a new store would have thought trained better
