I was initially impressed with Grasshopper's feature set and simple, straightforward pricing, which seemed perfect for my small business needs. I successfully signed up for an account and was planning to port my number over, excited to start using the service.
However, less than 24 hours after activation, my account was abruptly deactivated. When I contacted customer support to understand the reason and reactivate my service, I was met with complete stonewalling. I was repeatedly told by the representative that they could not, and would not, provide any explanation for the deactivation, stating only that they were unable to provide service to me.
This experience is deeply troubling. Abruptly cutting off a customer without providing a transparent reason demonstrates a massive failure in customer service and professional accountability. If Grasshopper is willing to deactivate a brand-new, paying customer without any explanation, I cannot trust this platform to be the reliable communication backbone of my business.
Prospective users should be aware that even if you like the features and price, your access to the service may be revoked arbitrarily and without notice or recourse. Reliability and transparency are non-existent. I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

One phone line/texting to multiple phones without the hassle of a large phone system
This works to call one company phone before calling our call center. We use the texting feature every day. Everything works smoothly and we don't have to worry about issues with communication. Highly recommend using this for your business startup!!

Very Frustrating and a waste of time
I was charged to register my number for texting and got denied twice, even after following their own “AI” recommendations. What a waste of time and money.
The cancellation process is a real pain. They’ve added a virtual assistant that makes it nearly impossible to reach a real human. In this day and age, you’d expect a simple “Cancel” button on the dashboard, but instead, they force you to call them just to only cancel.
Definitely last time using this platform.

Just don't
Registering an SMS can be painful. If you decide to cancel since they won't register your SMS, they force you to actually call them and hope that you hang up while you are on hold. If you want a refund, they have a "no refund" policy. This company is a scam. There are better services out there. I only used the service for two weeks and it was plagued with issues.

My experience with Grasshopper lasted a grand total of three days, and it was one of the most frustrating business decisions I’ve ever made. The system failed on two basic functions immediately:
Logging In: Constant, critical issues just to access the service.
Texting: The core texting feature was completely unreliable.
The Support Black Hole
Their support model is a deliberate barrier to any actual resolution. They push users exclusively into useless chat sessions where the representatives offer the exact same useless, canned resolutions every single time. Despite demanding a direct line to speak with a human, I was repeatedly refused a phone number and never got past the scripted chat wall. It is clear they are designed to defer, not solve.
Predatory Cancellation Policy
After three days of service failures and zero support, I asked to cancel. They flatly refused to refund my money. This is an egregious and predatory policy.
This company must survive by taking a quick money-grab from desperate customers signing up for the first month. God help anyone who pays for an entire year upfront and tries to cancel.
Final Verdict
Grasshopper is a fundamentally broken system run by a company that is not customer-focused and that prioritizes trapping funds over providing a working product. I am in a network with many contacts actively searching for a reliable phone solution, and I will ensure this company is not on that list.
This is a critical failure. Find a solution elsewhere.

Horrible experience
Absolutely horrible experience and customer service. This company refuses to refund even though they charged me just yesterday for a service I haven't used in over 6 months. I tried to cancel and thought I had, but was laid off from the company that the email on this account was tied to so no longer had access. DO NOT use this company!!

I just absolutely love grasshopper. I haven't had much experience with any other because this has a ton of features that work for business. Just wish they had more integrations that they work with.

I’d like to give Grasshopper a 0. The service has not worked for me well and I’ve been trying to port my number out to AT&T for 12 days now getting the run around. They claim to have released my number but it isn’t true. Meanwhile my business line has been out of service. I’ve spent countless hours on the phone dealing with this and getting no where. They’re trying to hold my business number hostage and I recommend you to not use this company especially for a business number!! You’ll have no way to connect with their “internal dept” that supposedly handles this.

If I could go 0 stars, I would. They have taken money from me several times, including having me pay for a whole year's subscription. They would not let me try to sign up for SMS first, nor would they help me find ways to become registered. There have been charges that were never brough to my attention, ones that their tech team invoked. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. They are money grabbers who do NOT care for your actual needs.

What a joke
What a joke. I had a toll free number with them for my business for 2 years, and used the number on ads , banners, truck wrap , window wrap . Then the website said, credit card on file needs to be updated, so I added a new card but it would keep showing an error so I kept calling the customer service. After many calls, one of them told me” the system has chosen you not to allow you to update” so essentially I would be losing my number. Instead of telling, they just wouldn’t let me update my credit card. If I hadn’t done research, I would have lost my number. So I scrambled to switch to another company. They couldn’t explain why the system wouldn’t let me update the credit card information. Very unreliable for business use. Their contract states that they can cancel your service and number at any time for any reason which makes it unreliable as you wouldn’t be able to recoup your advertising expenses from them as the inactive number would render your $7000 business car wrap useless

Ive been using their service for over 4…
Ive been using their service for over 4 years now and Im switching providers immediately. The service so far has been lackluster. Too many dropped calls and very few features. Texting sucks on their platform as well. You will never get a notification you received a text so you have to check every couple of hours manually. Customer service has been hit or miss. You're better off paying a few dollars more with the other guys.

Not impressed that they consider my Hawaii Cell phone # as international so I had to change my personal # and probably leaving them since they are owned by Goto Companies, when I had them years ago was much more customer friendly, everything is upgrade here for this feature. Not Cool

I used Grasshopper's business phone…
I used Grasshopper's business phone service for two years, but their customer service is not good. When I tried to cancel my service after porting my business phone number to another service, I was not able to connect with anyone, and was on hold for over 20 minutes after filing a case with customer support. I called back the following week and was able to finally talk with someone in support, but they already charged my credit card for another month of service and would not issue even a partial refund! There are many better service providers to use for a business phone.

Grasshopper is scammy garbage - AVOID
Grasshopper would not accept my ported over number that is essential beacuse I intended to use it for my business, and I need to have access to this existing number. They would not accept it and just kept blaming Google Voice. I worked on this for weeks and finally was just over trying. They now refuse to refund me because of their "terms and conditions" - but the service DID NOT WORK. I am frankly furious right now. What a horrible garbage business to work with.

Very poor experience with this company. My bill came in charging me $11 in taxes on a $35/month bill. I'm pretty sure that's like 35% tax. NO way! evoice is $14/month and you get more features.
