It's a shame I have to even give this company one star. So, lets paint a picture.

My partner and I buy a car on the 27/12/2020. A used car from a "used car dealer".

on the 28/12/2020- the car miraculously wouldn't start. So we phoned GH motors and explained the situation. We were instantly met with hostility and avoidance. The guy we spoke to on the phone ( I believe it was Jeremy) stated "you've bought a used car, what do you expect"; he then proceeded to accuse me and my partner of "sabotaging" the car. I tried to reason with him and reiterated that we had only had the car a day. The man then continued to say that we had no rights for return but if we could get the car to them then they would have a look at it. Now, we live around 30 miles away from the garage so a tow would have cost in excess of £120- which isn't ideal when we've only just bought the car and had it one day!!!!!!!!!!!

So I decided to look into my rights, funnily enough I found that we had some pretty secure rights under the consumer rights act (2015) and the consumer credit act (1974). The rights stipulated that we had 30 days to formally reject the vehicle if it was not fit for purpose, not of sound quality and not as described. Now I don't know about you but when a car stops working a day after buying it, then it's pretty likely that it doesn't meet those three qualities.
So we contacted GH again and informed them of what rights we knew that we had. The man on the phone (Again, I believe this was Jeremy) stated that legally, GH motors had one opportunity to fix the vehicle- "By law". So once again, I looked into this for clarification and low and behold, more lies. In fact, before 30 days, garages do not in fact have one legal opportunity to fix the vehicle. Customers can opt to have the vehicle repaired but that is their choice, not the garages.... in fact, after 30 days, the garage legally has one opportunity to fix the vehicle- but yeah, they'll not tell you that bit.

So once more, we spoke to GH motors, informing them that in fact they don't have the rights that they stipulated and that we would like to reject the car. Jeremy reiterated that they would be "happy to look at the car, if we got it back to them". So further research pursued and I decided to contact the credit company (Close brothers). Close brothers have been AMAZING from the start. They were informative and supported us in our claim. I informed Close brothers that I would like to execute section 75 of the consumer credit act (1974), of which was also sent in writing to GH motors. So Close brothers informed me that it was in fact GH motor's responsibility to retrieve the vehicle for inspection or rejection. Therefore they advised that I initially pay for the tow and I would be reimbursed.

As the car wouldn't start, it was a lengthy process, putting the vehicle on to the tow truck. I asked the tow man to take pictures of the vehicle when at the garage to prove that it had arrived- which he did. He informed me that the garage were increasingly rude about me and my partner and stated that they had made some crude comments.

Fast forward two weeks and the claim was underway; we received confirmation of the claim having been processed and accepted on 26/01/2021. We were informed that GH had accepted the rejection from ourselves, however, funnily enough they found no fault. How strange. A car that wouldn't start at all, had no fault. Anyway, the credit company assured us that although GH had denied any faults that we would receive a full refund- although this is yet to be seen.

So, as the saying goes, the customer is always right- or in the eyes of GH- the customer is always stupid.

Oh and best bit, the car is up for sale again- be careful peeps- YT58 XER

I bought a car from this company in July, started having serious problems with it soon after purchase. When I called the garage and explained the problems I was having they said there was nothing they could do because it was out of its 3 month warranty by one week. I was assured by the seller when I bought it that if anything should go wrong within 6 months I could take it back and they’d have a look at it but this wasn’t the case when I actually started having problems; I was told it was 3 months and I could take it to them but they’d charge me to look at it. It’s cost me a fortune to fix and I’m still having new problems 6 months on. I saved for years for this car and I’m heartbroken that they sold me a dud. I’ll have to sell the car now and look for something more reliable definitely from a different garage.

They made buying a car, easy and stress free. Helpful and friendly. From purchasing my car to delivery, I was really impressed with how they operate. Nothing was too much trouble. Very happy with the service they provided. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Bought a unfit for purpose car from them this year... car broke down a couple weeks after purchase... they did take it in... bodged the car and gave it me back... I took it to manufacturer for inspection because it broke down again... had to take them to court for repair costs... after a 3rd breakdown i found out the whole engine wiring loom and ECU were damaged beyond repair and have had to pay for the lot myself or other option was to scrap the car... dreadful service, they played dumb and do not deserve custom.

We bought a ford fusion 1.4 petrol in august 2019.
Hi promised to send the spare key to the car but 2 weeks later he said
No key sorry.
He said the car have a fresh service (chambelt+water pump kit)
No... All aux belt worn breaks tyers as well the RPM tachometer not working
After 4 month the engine had a terrible noise.
Air condition compressor not working he said this is just the gas....
And hidden corrosion.
Thay are liars!!! Be careful!

Was told my car would be serviced before delivery, but in fact it was only given an oil change. This is not a ‘service’ as defined by the trade. They offered to stamp the service book to say it had been done, another dishonesty. I’m regretting buying from them, and recommend that you don’t.

100% will never use this garage again and will never advise other people too either!

They are really helpful until you hand over the money then they literally couldn’t care less about you.

The boss is a liar and will tell you what you wanna hear so you give him the money as soon as you hand him the cash, you can literally see his eyes turn to dollar signs and the horns grow from his head.

The sales team (after they have got your money of course) are rude, treat you like you know nothing and you’re stupid. They have no interest in helping whatsoever.

I bought my Qashqai 2 months ago, within 2 weeks it started knocking on the front corner, 3 weeks after that it started kicking out thick clouds of blue smoke. I phoned up for the warranty work to be done and I was told that it probably won’t be covered and they would have to have a look (fair enough). But I live 150 miles away and even though I was promised a courtesy car when I was originally buying the car, when I asked about it, they told me that they weren’t giving courtesy cars. So I would have to pay to get myself home and then back down to pick the car up (the cost of which is about £200, so I might as well just pay for the car to get fixed myself).

These people will happily lie through their teeth to get a sale.

Seriously just avoid this place!

Not even worth one star but here goes!!!

Do not buy from this garage unless you want to get done over. I bought a Ford Fiesta registration YC64MOF. Only had the car 7 weeks to find nothing but problems.

I didn’t get my log book until 4 weeks later only to find out the garage had told me it had tax and I was still able to drive the car. I rang dvla regarding this issue to be told the car hadn’t been taxed since the 4th of November so I had to stop driving the car. All phone calls are recorded with this garage and dvla so I wouldn’t waste my time writing a review if this wasn’t true.

As I was going down the rejection route I had a third party garage inspect the car. They told me the car had excessive oil and coolant leak there is a whistling noise from the clutch when you put it into 1st gear. The passenger mirror doesn’t fold in when you lock the car and the car also need front brake and pads and a new os front tyre. The garage stated that this car is unsafe to drive.

The car is now back up for sale for more than the price that I purchased it at. The garage are nothing but rude manipulative and very arrogant people who don’t want to take responsibility for their wrong doings. Me and my partner have not received one apology for all of the ongoing issues. I now have a black mark against my name as I part exchanged my Toyota aygo in and they didn’t pay the old finance off in time. They have done nothing but put me off financing a car as we have had such a bad experience with these.

Brilliant garage, no pushy sales men, very good customer service, very happy.

Avoid avoid avoid at all costs. Bought a VW Jetta. Had problems within 4 months. I contacted them for help and options. Was met with a wall of shouting over the phone threatening me with solicitors if I dared write a bad review. Well here it is. Please do NOT trust these guys.

Sold me a car that broke down around 30 minutes after driving it off the court. A week after them fixing it and me having no car I had to take it to an in depended garage after this as they had not fixed the problem. Please don't fall for their sales pitch like I did, my car had a dangerous injector leak

Seriously I wouldn't buy another car of these ever. The buying of the car was smooth the problem is when you've parted with your money thats when the customer service stops. They tell you they will put it right but have it sitting there to make out they've fixed it. They do not rectify faults or provide information they said they would, and they ignore your emails. To sum it up they don't like dealing with a problem.
