Tried to charge over 10 times more
My car needed the Ecu reprogramming after losing the VIN. These cowboys told me they had the software to do it and got the car recovered to their garage. I then get a call saying that the car needs a new ECU at a cost of 2600. Thankfully got the car back after paying them over 800 for recovery and testing. The car has now been reprogrammed and is fine at a cost of 200. Now all I have to do is to repair the damage those fools did while dismantling parts they didn't need to do. Found they had lost nuts, left two loose bolts on a shock absorber mount, left the windscreen wiper arms and the engine cover in the car, minus two of the fixings and left the glove compartment full dismantled with no effort to put anything back. Also broke every plastic clip from the windscreen surround.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs! I booked an Auto-Electrician to come and fix an issue with my rear lights that were playing up. I paid a £145 + VAT call out fee and the guy who came out was in my opinion not a qualified Auto-Electrician, just a mechanic with code reader. He was 1hour and 20 mins late and all he wanted to do was plug in a code reader and disappear.
I expected a genuine Auto-Electrician to test fuses, modules, wiring etc. This guy did none of that claiming he only had an hour per appointment and wouldn’t be able to do such checks in that time (the guy was ready to leave after only 20 mins!) and told me in his own words that “I hate electrical jobs like this, they’re a nightmare!”.
I later received a quote for £600+ to carry out further investigations. I submitted a complaint and was supposed to hear back after I requested a partial refund as I did not feel I got what I was promised and what I paid for - but no one came back to me.
Turns out my local garage found a blown fuse and some corroded wiring that was easily accessible and repaired the problem for a fraction of the cost.
Please avoid Fastlane they’re a bunch of cowboys who have no intention of fixing your car on your drive, they just want an opportunity to charge you a fortune to recover the car to their garage for further diagnostics.
Fastlane diagnosed a faulty relay on my…
Fastlane diagnosed a faulty relay on my car that was stopping me selecting drive on the automatic gearbox. The diagnostic report cost £174 and I have no problem with that.
I was quoted £561.60 for the repair and given I had no idea what the failed component would cost I accepted their price of £336.00 for the replacement part plus labour. On completion I asked for the failed component and could not believe the price Fastlane had charged and on checking a pattern part was ~£11.00 and an OEM dealer cost was £66.11. Fastlane had charged me an extortionate 404% mark-up on the dealer OEM price. It gets worse.
I have a warranty for the car and my warranty provider will only accept repair companies that are VAT registered so I checked and was assured both before and after work began that Fastlane were VAT registered. On sending the invoices to my warranty provider they could not establish whether or not they were VAT registered so they called Fastlane who could not provide a VAT registration number so they rejected my warranty claim for the VAT and their opinion is that despite me being told several times that Fastlane are VAT registered it would seem they are not. A failure to provide their VAT registration number would support this view.
I will certainly never deal with this company again and would advise the utmost caution from anyone else who intends to.
BUNCH OF SCAMMERS DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY…
BUNCH OF SCAMMERS DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. £550 down and they've misdiagnosed the issue with my car and 'fixed' a repair that was not the issue.
DO NOT USE !!
DO NOT USE !!! I am surprised this company is still being allowed to continue ripping of customers blatantly lying and never refunding your money.
On the 7th February I booked into Fastlane to have 4 glowplugs replaced in my car.and was quoted £136.00 which I paid upfront as they needed to buy the parts in.
On the day of the repair 2 hours before the appointment I received a phone call from Fastlane saying they had quoted me wrong and wanted an extra £300 on top of the £136 I had already paid.
I refused to pay the extortionate extra money they asked for and demanded my money back that I had already paid.
I was told it would be refunded within 7 working days.
The 7 days past with no contact from the garage so I contacted Fastlane to see where my refund was and was told the manager would contact me back.
For over a week as I had no contact about the refund I kept phoning the garage and was given numerous excuses why the manager had not phoned me to give me my refund.
It is now the 17th March guess what I have had no contact from the manager and no refund. They have no intention of refunding my money and basically stolen the money I paid to them.
I am now in the process of trying to get a chargeback from my bank if that fails I will be proceeding to take Fastlane to the small claims court as this company is down right dishonest and have no hesitation in quoting you ridiculous amounts of money and will never refund you. READ THE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS GARAGE THEY ARE SHOCKING.
Rogue Auto Repairers
I would seriously think before using this company. We booked a Berlingo van in for new clutch, quoted £850, rang us and said it needed extra parts for clutch, ended up costing us £2000 plus vat, struggled to get into gear, had a bad oil leak when we got it back, which it didn't have before, took it back and they said it needed another £2500 to repair the gear box. We did not go ahead with the extra but on checking the first invoice for £2000, we found they overcharged us £500 for the materials and 6 extra hours labour @ £85 per hour. After talking to an expert , they should not have charged us an extra 8 hrs, it should have been included in the quote
Do not trust them…period.
I paid them around £250 just to check the car nearby them. They did it not only late but not properly. They were claiming car is in excellent condition…it was not!
But I didn’t know that and I bought the car by the time in arrived in Poland it turns out the whole front suspension needs to be replaced and also all brake pipes are rubbish and brakes didn’t work properly.
On top of that
I did a mistake (it was my fault) I was in a hurry and instead of the car garage I transferred the money for the car to them.
I said I’m sorry and because I had similar situation in the past when I used to live in UK (some companies paid me by mistake) I always returned the money asap but those … they didn’t do nothing. I called them, emailed them and they were like our account will deal with that. Weeks passed and they do nothing. Luckily I called my bank and they did sort it out.
AVOID THEM!! WOULDN'T RECOMMEND!!
Avoid them like a plague, i bought a battery from them just 6 months ago, upon calling them to ask for a look or maybe replacement since it had a 3 year warranty and my car wouldn't start, they asked that i order a new battery, and pay for it. Tried explaining i was happy to take the car down to the garage but couldn't since it was dead, asked for a call out and they said that would still cost 250 quid plus ordering a new battery to approximately total it up at around 390.
Awful garage and customer service, completely awful 👎👎👎
Wouldn't recommend at all.

Minus 100+⭐️
I had to put one star because I couldn’t complete the review! This company needs reporting to trading standards or whoever.
£430, they charged me claiming they fixed my electrics on my van. I took it back, they then said I had undone all what he had fixed and wanted a further £180.00, No I didn’t fall for their B/S again! Why would I pay almost £500 and then alter it, I don’t know anything about electrics hence paying these clowns. In fact they made is worse than before I took it in as the split charge no longer works now the van relies solely on the solar panels of which I myself did, including the wiring that didn’t interfere with the main electric supply to the van! I urge you PLEASE DO NOT use these cowboys. My van is still not fixed. They advertise as being in New Brighton, Wirral, but they don’t advertise that’s additional call out fee! Seriously if there was a regulator I would report them! This was 2023 but can’t change date! Worst experience EVER!
Literal Highway Robbery
Avoid these con artists. Was desperate as my car was deadlocked, bo response from the keyfob or lock itself. Neither key worked and I had put new batteries in each and tried the the reset method as mentioned in the handbook. To their credit, a guy came within the hour to look at my car. He opened the door and pressed the button on the key and then went straight to "you need 2 new keys" a quote came by phone call for over £700 (I guess that's +VAT). If you include their ridiculous call out fee of £174 that's about £1000. I read on a Skoda forum that someone tried the manufacture recommended brand of key fob cell battery. If I had gone with thees bandits and their prices, I would have paid about £997 extra than I did to fix the problem. They will always go for the most expensive fix, and in my case a replacement 3v cell battery was the answer (£3.75 for 2).
Avoid at all costs.
AVOID ! AVOID ! AVOID !!!!
AVOID !! AVOID !! AVOID !!
Trustpilot needs to introduce negative stars for conmen like these !!
I took my van to the them on the understanding that they had the equipment to update a software issue that required Renault computer access which my local dealer didn't have. Their diagnostic results suggested the opposite of the fault I knew it had and their diagnosis stated it needed a new adblue tank and pump at a cost of £1442 and 6hrs labour to rectify the problem. As I needed the van for my work and not being able to book it in with Renault for 2 months, I told them to go ahead as long as it cured the problem which they said it would. They fitted the tank and pump and it made absolutely no difference to the fault (that they'd diagnosed ) and then wanted another £720 off me to fit a new injector for which I told them not to do anymore work on it. At this point I checked their pricing structure and the part they charged me £1442 for was actually available direct from Renault parts for £745 so they ripped me off with100% mark up and the 6hrs labour time should be no more than 1.3hrs completion time as per Renault recommendations. After challenging these prices all I got was a pack of lies and a refusal to put me through to a manager but a promise of a call back which inevitably never came. I collected the van today and again querying the £2650 invoice I was told I could not speak to anyone in authority and I could not get past the guy on the front counter who insisted that the charge was not overpriced and came under their pricing structure. All I could do was pay my £2650 bill and get my van offsite which still has the same fault on it as it did went in to them.
Just read the reviews on these cowboys, I wish I did, they'll just keep trying to extort money and overcharge you at every opportunity for work your vehicle probably doesn't need.
Total rip.off merchants my advice don't…
Total rip.off merchants my advice don't go anywhere nethis company charged for separate parts but when AA came out to check my car they said the parts what was ordered came complete not separate they the part was £512 from them price at ford's £150 total bill £2750 trading standards now involved and still awaiting phone call from them
Absolute con men
Absolute con men, avoid at all costs. Was told £150 for diagnostics and charged me £180 (to include vat), was told local garages in manchester (states on website) then told car needs to go to St Helens. No chance, glad I didn't continue as reading the reviews on here it seems a lot of people had terrible experiences. Lesson learnt, read trust pilot first!
Pricey call out
My son paid out £173 in advance to plug in and diagnose. Said £100 off the repair quote but then didn't put that on and over charged massively for a simple repair. A lesson to double check Trustpilot BEFORE calling a firm you don't know !! These guys are best avoided.
Car went into safe mode
Car went into safe mode. Charged me £150 to come out and tell me what was wrong, Blown turbo charger. Told me the cost to fit a new one to my Jaguar £1900 and £2000 for 5 hours labour.. Kept on ringing, at one point every hour through out the day asking for payment. Jaguar quoted me £1500 for all the work including picking up and dropping of the car. The turbo cost £700
Do Not use Scammers
Absolutely Appalling. DO NOT USE
Fast lane Autocare, St Helens. Also known as The Fastfit Centre. This garage ripped off our vulnerable mother. She called this garage because the clutch in her car was faulty. They bombarded her and immediately sent their mobile mechanic to tell her what she already knew; and then sent their recovery truck to take her car 0.8 miles to their garage, even though her car was drivable. £340+VAT. Then there was a phone call asking for another £255+VAT for a gearbox linkage strip down. Then there was another phone call asking for another £2,400.00. WTH. Our mother panicked and contacted a family member who intervened. The garage do not take any responsibility for their actions, deny they have done anything wrong, refuse to give a refund, do not respond to emails; and have no processes in place for dealing with vulnerable people. Their Mission is to Drive Excellence and Inspire Trust???????????????????????????
They have a very aggressive business model and within their terms and conditions ‘Acceptance of Terms’ - By completing payment you acknowledge and agree to their terms and conditions. Why is this garage allowed to continue to operate? Do we need a community meeting to talk about this and the impact to customers per the Trustpilot and Google reviews.
Shocking
Shocking! We got a £102 diagnostic fee made us pay upfront.
Then gave us a quote of £3200 for the list of things what would need doing. We’ve since had it looked at by other garages and they’ve all told us it’s around a £160 job. So they definitely aren’t honest. Would not recommend going here
No Stars
No Stars - Avoid Fastlane / Happy Camper at All Costs
Dealing with Fastlane / Happy Camper has been the worst experience I’ve ever had in the motor business. Their website falsely claims they are NCC-approved (National Caravan Council), but upon checking, the NCC confirmed they have no connection with them.
I brought in my 1972 T2 VW camper for welding and a partial respray in early June, expecting the work to take 2–3 weeks. They demanded 50% upfront to "secure the time slot." Weeks passed with little communication, and when I finally insisted on proof of progress, I discovered via photos that the van had been sitting untouched outside their premises for over two months!
Throughout this period, we were consistently lied to. Every time we called for updates, we were told the work was underway and nearing completion—claims that were blatantly false. It became clear that the intention was to stall us with excuses, as no work had been done at all.
After 3.5 months, they declared the job complete, but the results were horrifying. The paintwork was sloppy with an uneven finish, overspray on the bumpers and number plates, and even a red-sprayed radio aerial. Entire panels were left unsprayed, and a large rusty hole in the sliding door remained untouched. They had the audacity to demand full payment for this shoddy work.
To make matters worse, the company trading under "Happy Camper" was dissolved over a year ago, according to Companies House. Despite this, they are still using that name for invoices and correspondence. Fastlane have also been issued with a final strike off notice.
Upon driving the van home (after using a spare key as they withheld the original), the rear number plate fell off, and I discovered additional issues, including a failed leisure battery and a non functioning rear light cluster. Photos of my van were used on their social media without permission, and when I requested removal, I was immediately blocked.
I’ve since had to take the van to a reputable spray shop, which revealed Fastlane had cut corners—no welding was done, just filler pushed into gaps, and the paint was applied over old paint instead of bare metal. I had to pay for the entire job to be redone properly.
Avoid this company at all costs. Read all reviews carefully—many glowing ones seem suspiciously fake.
