They make it almost impossible to book a test. And when you call for support they just hang up.
Daughter failed her driving test today…
Daughter failed her driving test today after waiting 14 months for it Next test is 5 months away. Utterly disgusting service. Those who have failed but are test ready should get a re-test within 2 weeks ahead of those who are not ready yet but have booked all the slots. Sort it our DVSA, this is utterly unacceptable. Zero stars if I could.

So they cancelled my test within 12 hours of the test and then sent a email asking me to complete a survey of why I cancelled the test ...make it make sense
The road markings in some areas are terrible
The road markings in some areas are absolutely terrible, yet candidates are the ones who suffer the consequences. If someone fails their driving test because essential road markings are faded and simply not visible, they should be entitled to a refund. We are expected to follow every road marking correctly, but how can a learner be expected to know there is a give-way line when the markings have completely disappeared? It is extremely unfair to fail someone for not stopping at a give-way line that is barely visible or not visible at all. Mistakes caused by poor road maintenance should not be treated as the learner’s fault.
Fix the road markings, or provide refunds when candidates are failed because of them. On top of that, people are paying for tests repeatedly and still struggling to get a suitable appointment. The waiting times can be months long, sometimes around six months even when someone is fully prepared and ready to take their test. The system needs to be fairer. Maintain the roads properly, provide enough test slots, and stop making learners pay the price for problems that are completely outside their control!!!

Cambridge DVSA Theory test centre
Wasn’t too pleased with the service that I received, particularly as a women who wears religious head covering: when I had to get security checks done, they offered no female staff to do it for me so it had to be done by the only male staff member that was there. Even though I layer saw a member of female staff just before I started my theory test. I really think that they should have at least one female member of staff available for such tasks to make sure that everyone feels comfortable, accommodated, and included despite cultural and religious differences. Thank you!

Unfortunately rude
Unfortunately, my experience at the Reading DVSA Theory Test Centre was very disappointing. The lady at reception was unnecessarily rude from the moment I arrived. There was no basic courtesy, and her manner came across as abrupt and unprofessional for absolutely no reason.
I understand that staff deal with a lot of candidates every day, but a little politeness goes a long way, especially when people may already be feeling nervous about their test. The interaction left a very negative first impression and made the whole experience uncomfortable.
I have been a driving instructor for 33…
I have been a driving instructor for 33 years. I take great pride in seeing my students pass. I have taught fathers to be and thier children and soon their grandchildren to drive.
But now I am very disappointed with the DVSA. Firstly me and my students have been struggling to get driving test for the last six years. They have been assuring us that this will be resolved. As of today no test are available anywhere around the London area. Because of their incompetence they encouraged illegal organisations/companies to flood the market with driving test for extortionate amounts of up to £350.
Even tough they say that they have taken steps to resolve the issues this problems still persists and has become worse, specially for driving instructors.
The question now is; Is there a light at the end of the tunnel.??? I can't see it.
Passed my driving test at the Newport…
Passed my driving test at the Newport centre yesterday and had Craig as my examiner. He was amazing from start to finish! I was quite nervous, but his calm, welcoming, and friendly manner completely put me at ease. His instructions were very clear and well-timed throughout the route. He made a stressful day a great experience all around—highly recommend!"
Useless
Most useless, unorganised company. They cancelled my test twice and rescheduled without asking but when i want to book a test within a month i cant. Genuinely the biggest scam.
I took my test at Garretts Green
I took my test at Garretts Green and Clare was my examiner. She was very calming and helped me keep the nerves in check.
And when she told me I passed she seemed genuinely happy for me. She is a lovely examiner
One of the worst customer service…
One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
DVSA cancelled my theory test because their own systems failed. I paid for train travel, took time out of my day and prepared for the exam, only to be turned away through no fault of my own.
I was promised a response within 10 working days after submitting the requested information. Nearly a month later, I have still received nothing—no refund, no explanation and no communication whatsoever.
Mistakes happen. Ignoring customers for weeks after those mistakes is a choice.
For a government agency, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I expected accountability, professionalism and respect. Instead, I was left out of pocket and completely ignored.
I would not expect anyone to be treated this way.
The dvsa is full of lying scum
The dvsa is full of lying scum, they lie about exams and get away with it while those who tell the truth get punished for it. If you ever get ALAN FISHER at bodmin dvsa centre as an examiner don't go with him because he will sabotage your exam and lie about for his own financial gain. And the dvsa happily allow it to happen.
Shambles.
I had my mod 1&2 test dates booked 3rd and 4th of August 2026. In Aberdeen.
I received a phone call off my instructor. She told me DVSA cancelled both tests. I'm now out of pocket for the hotel bookings I made for the training and tests.
In fact all tests have been cancelled. All I can get is a mod 1 later in August with no mod 2 date as none avaliable for months.
It's crazy. If I don't pass my mod 1, I'll seriously think about not bothering to reapply.
I know I'm maybe over reacting, but it's the way I'm feeling at the moment.
DVSA really need to get their act together. People are waiting a very long time to do their tests, then being told "Nah! No tests for you, were cancelling"
It's wrong on all levels. Things have to be put right.

Deserves zero star for super looong booking periods and cost! Plus some of the daft impossible standards which you will forget once you get your licence
Had a test tofay. Appalling customer service from the examiner.
Had a test today. I made mistakes and accept responsibility for that. I learnt from it and when doing it again will use it to my advantage. .
However i am not responsible for the attitude of the woman at the exeter test centre. Wow. And the reviews reflect this.
Her bedside manner was appalling. All the other instructors were polite and reassuring. You can be professional whilst not being openly
rude and obstructive to a client. I'm paying for the test. I expect some sort of respect.
Her attitude and blindingly dislike she took of me instantly made my test highly unpleasant. Nerves are real. Reassure and be more clear. She made it hard for me to concentrate to be honest. Perhaps she needs a few clases in how to present herself.
Won't stop me trying again. .

6.7.2926 was my driving test, and my examiner was Ian. He is a very kind-hearted, helpful, polite, and respectful person. Sitting with him during the test, I didn't feel nervous or hesitant at all, and I never lost my confidence. His calm and friendly attitude made me feel comfortable throughout the test. Ian is truly a wonderful examiner.i am many many thx IAN🥰

Passed my test yesterday in Peachman way test centre, my examiner Mike was absolutely freindly and put me in ease to take the test which was opposite to my examiner 2 weeks ago. I felt more relaxed and less nervous. There were anxiety of course! However, less tension and freindly helpful environment which helps for learners to focus on the road rather than on what examiner thinks about them. A big thanks, Mike!
