Ordered strings on the 15th April
Ordered strings on the 15th April, it’s now 4th May, they still say ‘preparing for shipping’ like, what company in the world thinks this is acceptable. I thought I’d try these strings instead of EB strings but I will never use these ever again just because shipping is crazy slow. I could have ordered them on Amazon and gotten next day shipping but through their website is useless. Never again

I have tried many strings, but the quality-price ratio of Daddario is undeuably better. I mostly buy classic carbon strings, which last long and sound bright. Other manufacturers analogies can vary significantly in price, but the quality is not better, and sometimes it's even worse

I have been using the humidipacks for uears
I have been using the humidipacks for several years on my Martin d-18 and Martin 00015M- SM. They have been working out well keeping my guitar case at 45% humidity. Living in the boston area, the humidity is inconsistent. These have been great in preventing any damage to my guitars.

I've been using D'Addario stuff for 50+ years!
I've been using D'Addario strings, picks and other goodies since the mid 1970's and have found them to be a reliable, dependable quality product. I have tried just about all other brands, but I just keep coming back. I recently had contact with their Customer Service, and it was the most satisfying experience I've had this year. D'Addario rocks!

great company, highly recommend
the products like reeds and such are very nice, i especially recommend the mitchell luries and the reserve line. graftonite mouthpieces are decent although there are better options available (cork issues). I've also tried the x10 mouthpiece and it was great, easy to blow, no problem! um customer service is great, i had account issues and they resolved it within a week or so
edit 5/6/25: there was an unresolved issue with my account balance and was solved immediately!

Evans EQ3 Reso Black (BD22RB) with port
As a long‑time musician and loyal Evans customer, I never expected to write a review like this, but I believe other drummers deserve to know what is happening with the current EQ3 Reso Black heads.
I recently purchased an Evans EQ3 Reso Black (BD22RB), a model that does not come with a factory‑cut port. To my surprise, the head arrived with a port hole already cut, and the edge of the hole did not resemble the clean, heat‑sealed CNC finish that Evans has always been known for. Instead, the edge looked:
cold and unsealed
slightly irregular
clearly hand‑cut
with visible adhesive around the reinforcement ring
At first I thought it might be a one‑off issue, but I ordered a second brand‑new head from Thomann and it arrived exactly the same. This makes it clear that this is not an isolated case, but a change in the manufacturing process that Evans has not communicated.
What disappointed me the most was not the product itself, but the response I received from Evans’ Facebook support. Despite providing photos and the exact model number, I was told the head was “within factory specifications,” which simply does not match the physical evidence. As a loyal Evans user, this made me feel dismissed rather than heard.
I am not writing this to create drama. I am writing it because the quality of the port finish on these heads is no longer what it used to be, and other musicians should be aware of this before purchasing.
I truly hope Evans provides a transparent explanation, because many of us have trusted their products for years and expect the same level of quality and respect in return.
