I am a first time buyer so I do not have anything to compare this service to but I am buying an ex-rental/investment property so there is no chain and it has been over 9 months since the case was opened and the purchase is still not completed. Issues have been raised by CTW in the last few months that I don't understand why they couldn't have been raised much closer to the time in opening this case to avoid further delays.

Tenants out 3rd February 2026
Nearly 4 months later still not completed????

I have also tried phoning the direct dial I have been given every working day for a week for no response (in general I would say it is more likely they will not answer the phone to me than they will) and I haven't been phoning them a lot, just when it feels like nothing is happening.

In fact since the 9th March I have phoned the direct dial I was given 20 times (all within their office hours) and I have spoken to the contact twice (the other 18 times was no answer). I phoned through to reception and spoke to their supervisor who gave me their direct dial who thankfully actually answers the phone.

The portal that they use where you can track the status of things hasn't been updated since the 12th January (~4-5 months) and any updates I do ask seem to take at least a week.

I am getting more and more stressed now that my mortgage offer will expire because this process has taken so long and if things do not complete soon then it will cost me a lot more due to having to get a worse interest rate and it will cause even more delays.

I certainly would not use CTW again or recommend them and I hope this isn't just how all conveyancing services are

Things are currently being held up by a deed of variation that CTW has decided that I definitely need in the last couple of months but I don't understand why any outstanding issues couldn't have been raised closer to the time of the case opening.

Kirsty and team were excellent over the course of our house sale and purchase. The move required flexibility due to a number of false starts as a new buyer needed to be found. Alongside Kirsty, I would like to extend my appreciation to both Amreet and Charlie, who made the whole experience as stress free and straighforward as possible.

Zara supported us through the whole process with speed and professionalism. We cannot recommend them more highly. We will absolutely be using their services again.
