Copenhagen Airport feels more like a commercial transit funnel than a space designed for people. It’s restless, impersonal, and overwhelmingly focused on retail and revenue rather than passenger comfort. You’re constantly moved through crowded areas with limited seating and persistent noise, with little to no room for calm or reflection.
Basic human needs – space to sit, peace and quiet, fresh air – are simply not prioritized here. If you’re not buying something, you’re in the way.
In stark contrast, Helsinki Airport is a masterclass in passenger-centered design. It’s calm, spacious, intuitive, and clean. There are silent areas, plenty of seating, and thoughtful architecture that respects both movement and rest. You’re treated like a guest, not a consumer.
I leave Helsinki feeling grounded and ready to fly. I leave Copenhagen feeling drained and overstimulated.
Copenhagen may win points for connectivity and transport links, but as a place to be – to wait, to breathe – it fails. It’s time for CPH to rethink what an airport should feel like

Fik konfiskeret min powerbank til 1800kr
Møder ind 2,5 time før flyet lætter, skal med airgreenland og vil gerne være der i god tid. Først 1 time før afgang begynder de at tage imod bagage og mit vandreudstyr bliver henvist til et andet bagagebånd hvor de informerer mig om jeg ikke må have noget af min elektronik på batteri i bagagen. Jeg spørger lufthavns personalet om det er okay at jeg tager det med ombord på flyet i min håndbagage og det siger de er helt fint. Kommer endelig igennem security, der er 15 min til mit fly lætter og min taske bliver trukket til siden. Får et ultimatum enten kommer jeg ikke med flyet ellers så skal min powerbank til 1800kr sendes til destruering.
I situationen kan jeg ikke nå at aflevere den til min kæreste som satte mig af i lufthavnen, fordi der kun er 15 min til afgang og selvom jeg lige er blevet informeret om at jeg godt måtte have den med af personalet inden security og valgte at pakke den i rygsækken.
Kan efterfølgende læse mig til at man ikke må have en powerbank i håndbagagen. Syntes situationen er lidt til grin, da jeg følger personalets anvisninger og efterfølgende får konfiskeret min elektronik for at følge deres anvisninger!

Voksenskældud i Security
Normalt er jeg glad for at rejse fra Københavns lufthavn, hvor tingene fungerer, derfor 2 stjerner. I dag er en stor rejsedag, og alle har travlt, også personalet i Security. Men jeg blev godt nok ked af det, da jeg ville lægge mine ting i en bakke og nærmest bev råbt af "DEN VIRKER IKKE!!!!! HVORFOR TROR I, AT VI HAR SAT DET HER PÅ????" Jeg kan godt forstå, medarbejderen er frustreret, hvis der er 25 før mig, der heller ikke har lagt mærke til det gule bånd længere nede (hvor øjet ikke falder), men det er ikke i orden, at det går ud over mig. Og hvis der er 25 andre, der heller ikke har set det, burde de overveje at afmærke det anderledes!!
Jeg var stresset af flere årsager, og denne her omgang voksenskældud gjorde det kun værre. Jeg var grædefærdig da jeg gik derfra og fik en rigtig dårlig start på min rejse.

I had a 5 hour layover in Copenhagen. I thought the aiport was airy and calm with good shops and places to eat. I did find the layout a little confusing but I had special assistance so I stayed fairly close to the lounge there. The prices of vending machines and cafes were not exhorbitant and the staff were helpful. Lovely staff in special assistance.
The biggest downside for me was the toilets were not Scandinavian standard, a little dirty and dated. There are cleaner restrooms in Budapest Airport.

Det var da godt nok den dårligste oplevelse nogensinde.
En vagt oplyste mig, at jeg ikke skulle stå ved siden af min mor og holde hende om armen ved screening/scanning området. Jeg oplyste vagten, at min mor havde gangbesvære og ellers ville vælte hvis jeg gav slip. Her svarede han “jeg griber hende ikke, så må hun falde”, hvorefter han smilte og kiggede mig i øjenene som om han nedgjorde og gjorde grin af min mor.
Jeg har aldrig i mine 29 år oplevet så ukompetent vagtpersonale nogensinde. Det må da godt nok være den dårligste service jeg har set til dato.
CPH Airport bør skamme sig over at have sådanne vagter til at arbejde hos dem. De har hverken situationsfornemmelse eller forståelse for mennesker.
Jeg håber inderligt at DR og TV2 en dag undersøger sager i lufthavnen, så ledelse og security kan udskiftes hurtigst muligt, så vi kan komme det dårlige førstehåndsindtryk af vores land til livs.

Copenhagen Airport is generally a very calm and quiet airport, which is a nice contrast to many other international hubs. However, a few things really need improvement.
First, the cleaning standards have noticeably declined since Covid, and for such a high-traffic airport, that's not acceptable.
Second, no sign of terminal 3 in Terminal 3 it lacks clear signage. Since it's a silent airport with limited announcements, proper guidance is crucial but currently it's confusing and poorly marked.
Lastly, gate changes happening just 30 minutes before departure with no proper communication? That's simply not okay. Travelers deserve more clarity and time to adjust.
Please fix these issues Copenhagen Airport has great potential, but the experience is falling short.

I'm a 66 year old woman with an arthritic disease who hasn't travelled since 2012. But customer service still counts. I don't mind being treated like a criminal on the way in but returning home was a nightmare. I made a mistake my fault and I had the run around getting another boarding pass. I understand protocol but when the old security woman feels she can make a joke about me I don't like. Perhaps they could see I was ready to collapse by this time. The other man said "you are not having a good experience go for a coffee in there". What did I find alcohol shops and a female toilet like a cesspit. Water for people to slip on. I continued bewildered in whichever direction by asking and getting a nonchalant pointing arm. Then, another indifferent customer service woman. If I had been in London I would have said what is your problem? Never again. When I returned to Bristol in the middle of the night it was great to hear a staff member thanking people to queue. Customer service is King start smiling, start caring about the airport and country you represent.

It is a matter of basic respect that people should be told what is happening when they stand almost an hour on the FAST LANE while other passengers are being let through without us getting an explanation and being treated and looked at with arrogance and resentment by the TSA officer. When I have asked why other people are let through: an arrogant "you have to wait" said in disgust is not at all an answer while one is trying to catch a flight. Not at all an ambassador of Scandinavian hospitality and professionalism.
The whole security check experience is a mess and it was very disappointing to see that out of 40 TSA checkpoints only a handful were opened in a rush hour.
After passing through TSA check, the big flight information board has been replaced with ADVERTISEMENTS. This is not what a passenger needs after waiting 1 hour on the "fast" security check lane, they need information about their flight!
This airport was at its peak in 2015-2019, when it used to be clean, well organised and the staff seemed efficient, competent and happy to help. Today the bathrooms are very dirty and in low supply. Especially at the luggage claim area, two bathrooms for 1000 people waiting for almost an hour to pick up luggage is truly disappointing.
It happened 3-4 times that the seats next to the boarding gate are so disgusting that I did not even want to seat on.
