Incompetence or scammers. Hard to tell but be very cautious giving them any money. They will promise the world however have after 4 years been unable to consistently deliver anything other than constant excuses. You may get a product, you probably wont though. What's more the company has no issues with charging additional shipping after the fact (check out the issues with their kickstarter as an example) . And if you do get a product thats all of what you paid for, based on reports its probably going to break within a few uses and very little recourse to get replacement parts is available as of 2023.

It’s a fine line between what may feel like a SCAM and what is simply INCOMPETENCE, I will take
The high road and believe the Coffeejack team doesn’t have the skill set to execute on many business fronts. If I were them at this point, I’d first understand who was shipped and who wasn’t shipped and communicate a very transparent message to each person and acknowledge that they still haven’t been shipped. That’s step one. No one is telling me by my name we have your order, we have your extra payment for shipping and here’s our plan to get you YOUR ORDER. WHAT FEELS SCAMMY is that they never reach out to me. Yet they ask for additional funds. They need to personalize it. You are in group 14 of shipments we are at group
9 we are shipping 1 group per month. Etc.
I can’t get frustrated as this is kickstarter it’s the roll of the dice to play this game.
I have since passed on every
Other kickstarter over the last three
Years.
Executions like these don’t help drive
More startups.

Took four years to deliver a substandard product to some of the original kickstarter backers. Makes mediocre coffee. The design has a structural flaw - most units seem to break within a month. Customer service in shambles, the dedicated website is full of spam. The founders won’t be able to organize a proverbial pissing match in a brewery. Stay away.

(Edit: Sept. 2026) The first iteration of the product has completely failed. One of the creators made a second attempt at it. I stayed away that time, however, judging by the current comments on KickStarter, it isn't going any better. The product, as delivered, required immediate service. Non-deliveries and lack of any response reported by multiple people.

I was one of the initial backers and have yet to receive my order. Why? Likely because I won’t/can’t cough up the $$ to pay for the new shipping fee. I can’t because I no longer have a Paypal account and they will not return email requests for more information on this. But also I won’t pay because I have read dozens of complaints about not receiving the product despite payment of the hostage fee, broken and failing equipment, and their lack of proper management of the process itself. This Kickstarter has sworn me off of all Kickstarters. This project is well over 4 years old and I’m done.

CoffeeJack is a scam!

I have paid for a machine years ago, I have not received it. I paid the full price, now CoffeeJack is asking for more money, otherwise they won't send me my machine. I'm reading from people who actually paid more, and who still have not received anything. Questions about when I will receive my product are getting ignored. Kickstarter is also ignoring any complaints and not doing anything about this. I have received 120 updates, each one containing new excuses and explanations. After getting funded on Kickstarter, CoffeeJack went on to collect more money on Indiegogo. This is a scam, stay away!

What can be done? At the very least, if you have been tricked as well, please share your reviews!

They took my money with a delivery date three years ago. With promises of completion, in the second year, I added on… so they received a million pounds the first round, have had it for three years… got more money from add ons and won’t ship without MORE shipping fees (we already paid). They have taken over 200$ from this single mom. Thanks a lot scam artists.

I ordered and paid for the CoffeeJack + shipping on Jan 5, 2020. It's now June 2023 so 3.5 years later. They've sent 105 updates filled with excuses and extortions, yet haven't responded to any of my emails asking for my order update. I have still not received what I paid for.

I wish I could give them negative stars. A cheap crappy product. It broke after a couple of uses. I carefully followed all the instructions to no avail. Read the kickstarter and indiegogo comments and you'll find out this is a very common occurrence.
They claim a warranty but no response for months despite repeatedly contacting them.

Despite the well known problems with the Coffeejack Kickstarter campaign, I waited patiently. All that aside, finally received my coffeejack, it was great. There’s a knack to using it correctly, nothing complicated. However after using for just over two months ( correctly as per instructions) I have air bubbles entering the chamber and problems with the pressure. It’s like the seals have gone already. So changed the seals myself, with a purchased seal kit. The problems are worse and now I cannot use it, as the pressure won’t build up. There is no customer service to get in touch with or message. So my advice would be, but another coffee device that actually comes with a warranty and there is customer service!! Very disappointing experience, and I’m one of the lucky ones that actually got their coffeejack!!

This has been the worst experience I've ever had purchasing a product. AVOID

Please be mindful when giving this company your money. I am aware backing a Kickstarter is a gamble and no guarantee. However, after 2 years wait and stringing backers along in May 2022 they announced they would start shipping in a month (Update 66) and encouraged backers to buy more accessories.
Fast-forward to January 2023 - still no shipping. They asked backers to pay an additional £12, if they wanted their products shipped straight away. People paid, most still didn't receive their order or only parts of it. I did not pay the extra 12, as I am not confident I would receive an item anyway.
I just want potential buyers to know, if you purchase from this company do not expect any constructive responses to communication or to receive a product.

After over almost 3 years, I haven't received what I ordered through Indiegogo. Not only that, when they offered additional accessories almost a year ago, and by then they said they were about to be ready to ship my order, I purchased some other accessories. They have had over 95 updates through Indiegogo, many of them promising delivery. A few months ago they started asking for more money to cover the shipping expenses. After spending a lot of money in the project, and accessories, I find it to be an insult that they have not delivered my order. I am not going to send any more money to the company. I have written to them in several ocassions with no response. Through their updates they are saying they are not able to answer to everybody??? and they have not shipped my orders (Originally I was contributor # 678 and spend 82 pounds including 7 for shipping and then I spent 90 pounds in accessories, so over 172 Pounds = that is over $210). I have no intention to send one more penny to this company. No serious entrepreneurs. Good project, but team behind with sketchy intentions

Was very happy to receive the coffee machine - it looks great, after having waited a long time from a crowdfunding campaign. It broke on first usage after following the instructions provided. After complaining online I finally got an email telling me I hadn't followed the 'new' usage instructions that were posted online on or around the date my machine was delivered. The instruction video was very precise about the insertion and non overfilling of the basket with coffee. This strikes me as a manufacturing default/design issue that causes the machine to break. The narrative and language from CoffeeJack is that it's my fault and user error, obviously setting themselves up charging me when they get round to warranty replacements.

I finally got the product - it’s well built and works fine, gives a very good espresso with crema. What I miss is a tamper - so this I have to order separately. I accept your problems you had on the road to get here, I’m glad you made it - It’s a part of the game!

I don’t understand the comments from others who backed this product. There are clear warnings on all of these crowd funded type of projects regarding potential delays and even projects that ultimately never make it. Yes, three years is an age. But I now have the Coffejack and it is well made and works like a dream - producing great coffee with a lovely crema. As well as using this at home I can take my favourite coffee and my Coffejack with me wherever I travel. Great little gadget.

Yes, it took 3 years, but isn’t this the whole point of crowdfunding? You buy into the idea and hope it works out?
Well it did!! And yes, I did pay for the extra shipping cost to speed up the process. These are entrepreneurs, money is tight.

Scammer alert! Gave multiple excuses and numerous delayed. After 3 years of delay, they are asking more money to ship your products. If don't pay up, you are likely not getting your items. They are not answering your questions as well. Deal with your own risk.
