I am a clinical supervisor working with Chrysalis students. I have been disappointed with their lethargic response to me raising concerns.

UPDATE: If only their response to my ethical concerns were as quick as their response to my poor review...

There are many positives about chrysalis, the flexibility of the course is really helpful when working full time and the price is not extortionate.
The student experience largely depends on how good your tutor is. Mine was great, Martin was extremely knowledgeable and always kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend chrysalis.

I have completed 3 years of study with Chrysalis, and the Student Support Services (Tania) has been incredibly helpful every time I have needed help/advice, she answered every question/enquiry, and nothing was ever left - she has been a great support to myself and fellow students during this time

I had a lesson today online. I arrived to the teams meeting early as requested and the tutor has somehow accidentally removed half of the group. She has not taken accountability for this and stead asked everyone to join off of another device. (perhaps she cannot work teams, but i think if it is part of your job you should be competent in working teams so this sort of thing does not happen as it is highly unprofessional) I do not have a second device to rejoin so have now been left to miss out on a lesson I paid for due to tutor error. The tutor has not replied to me when I have emailed to try to sort the issue and I will now be marked as not attending a lesson that I did try to attend.

Terrible customer service.

I have had some other issues with the courses quality and content but this has tipped me over the edge. I had accepted other issues as overall it was manageable but this is unacceptable.

The complaints procedure for the company is also very drawn out and difficult. There is a form to submit to the 'complaints manager' but nowhere in my student area is there a contact detail for this person.

Today has left me frustrated, disappointed and sad that I am missing out on a lesson for a mistake which I myself am not responsible. It feels punitive to miss out due to another mistake and have no accountability taken or steps taken to rectify the situation.

I would not recommend this company at all. Save your time, effort and money and find a better course. These courses are important and for a very important career. I would not recommend this as the route in and feel it gives you a poor start to what should be a very meaningful career.

I have emailed a complaint to the general chrysalis email but I am not hopeful to have anything done to resolve this. This also saddens me, customer service should be better and more personal but this company feels like they reel you in and support you when you show interest then take your money and no longer care. There is very little to no tutor support and the course itself is very poorly run.

Not very fothcoming or open about future opportunities within the sector. Doesnt fill me with confidence in fact it drains my confidence. Ive started on the course and there is no understanding of where you are going in the future.

The experience has been satisfying so far.

Chrysalis is very understanding and accommodating.

I cannot fault the 1st year of my three year course with Chyrsalis, it flowed like clockwork from start to finish. Our tutor was fantastic and the course was interesting.
Year 2 has been a different experience and I would have like to have felt better informed and communicated with through the difficulties Chyrsalis have had with providing us with timetable stability this year. Long periods with none or limited updates around class rescheduling and timetable changes dates due to tutor availability issues,
I hope my year 3 will be restore my faith !
A positive though has always been the helpfulness of Chyrsalis North staff when dealing with any queries I ve had on the phone.

My experience with Chrysalis has been extremely disappointing. While I expected independent study to be part of the course, there has been a huge emphasis on self-teaching, with very little meaningful guidance or consistent support. At times, it has felt as though students are largely left to work things out for themselves.

When I have raised genuine concerns, I have found the complaints process frustrating and inadequate. Issues do not appear to be handled with the care, transparency or accountability I would expect, and communication can feel impersonal and procedural rather than supportive.

What disappoints me most is the lack of a genuine human touch. As this is an organisation training people to become counsellors - a profession built on empathy, listening and strong relationships - I expected those same values to be reflected in how students are treated.

I have worked incredibly hard and remain committed to becoming a counsellor, but the experience has been far more stressful and isolating than it needed to be. In my view, Chrysalis needs to provide clearer teaching, more accessible guidance and a complaints process that makes students feel genuinely heard and supported.

The teaching in class has been high quality, and so have the online learning modules. There is a lot of self directed study involved but I have been well supported with this too, with good communication and guidance from my tutor between classes, as well as advice and help from the student support team.

Quality of teaching was good. I found myself learning and developing.

Don't choose this course to train with. They are forever changing the rules and guidance. The tutors are terrible and it has been a horrendous experience where I have learnt nothing and lost thousands. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!! I always read these and think "ah this person just had a bad time, doesn't mean I will" Don't misjudge this. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere. Anywhere would be better!

I really enjoyed the course and found it to be a valuable learning experience. The tutor was knowledgeable, supportive and created a positive learning environment throughout. I have grown both personally and professionally, and I feel the course has prepared me well for practice.
My only disappointment was the way the qualification was acknowledged. Although I understand the diploma is being sent in the post, after investing two and a half years into Years 2 and 3, along with a significant financial commitment, it still felt quite anticlimactic to receive only an email confirming that I had qualified. It would have been lovely to have some form of celebration or recognition, even if it was a small presentation or graduation-style event, to mark such a significant achievement.

Ive been studying for few months now and Iam far for completing my course. My first year is hypnosis and Fernanda is our class teacher. I have to say… what a teacher… she brings with her a baggage of experience and rich examples to help us. Has been an amazing journey so far with chrysalis. They could improve their platform but material and teaching I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you Fernanda Prado for bringing so much passion to the “table”.

Amazing courses

I’m not sure how informative it was, as everything covered was what we already learnt.

It was great course for the most part with lovely people. The online lessons need addressing to ensure they are more interesting, active and engaging. Chrysalis have justified this as you have to work online with people, but there is clearly an element of cost saving as we certainly don’t need as many as are delivered. No one wants to watch a person read through slide shows when we can all read for ourselves and been given the information prior to the lesson.

The structure is for the most part good but the ending seminar was a complete anti climax and would be much more beneficial in person with a tutor. It’s a shame that chrysalis doesn’t do anything to acknowledge the completion of the hypnosis course and a form of ‘celebration’ within that final session.
