CAFCASS is a broken, rotten, dishonest and father-hating 'organisation' staffed by creatures who believe that they are above the law. I'm not a Trump fan, but this country could do with someone of his ilk (very briefly) to simply close it, as it (CAFCASS) does far more harm than good.

Applied for custody of my child. Cafcass had somehow portrayed me to be an absolute monster and recommended that the court not allow me any contact with my son. Despite him clearly wanting to live with his stable, employed father.

Her report highlighted all the reason why he should be with me then in her professional opinion, she went off into a different dimension.

This has to stop. Kids lives are being ruined.

CAFCASS staffs are terrible, they are there to take sides. The staff said they will help me with my case, took so much of info from me, then used my words, weaponised against me in the court. The staff behaved as if she was a qualified therapist (deluded staff) assumed things, imagined stuffs, potrayed me as a criminal in court, forced to change my child's name. The staff I had was worse than a knife crime. I felt like being stabbed on my chest with brutal force. Discriminated my faith, used my faith as a weapon. The staff was here to make money and not build relationship. At the end of their assumptions, they say, at the best of child's interest. I really love to mention the staff name, but I dont want to. I am writing to formally raise a Review regarding the conduct of Cafcass Representative in her role as a Cafcass officer during my family court proceedings. Her actions demonstrated unprofessional behavior, including rudeness, intimidation, and a lack of fairness, which has significantly impacted my ability to maintain a meaningful relationship with my child.
1. Intimidation and Unprofessional Conduct
cafcass Representative acted in a rude and intimidating manner during our interactions. She subjected me to an aggressive, last-minute questioning session—15 questions in just 20 minutes—immediately before my final hearing. This added unnecessary pressure to an already difficult situation and was an inappropriate way to engage with a litigant in person. Her conduct was dismissive and unprofessional, particularly when she abruptly stated that I was “not obliged to answer her questions” only after the legal adviser entered the room.
2. Failure to Listen and Respond to Concerns
Throughout the proceedings, cafcass Representative failed to acknowledge or respond to my concerns. She repeatedly referenced incidents from 2022, despite no further issues occurring since then. I have fully accepted the court’s findings and completed a 13-week Freedom Program as recommended by the Magistrate, yet she refused to acknowledge my rehabilitation efforts. Instead, she discredited the program and disregarded my commitment to improving my role as a parent.
3. Lack of Clear Communication and Guidance
cafcass Representative authored a 15-page Section 7 report consisting of 56 paragraphs, yet she failed to provide any clear guidance on necessary courses, resources, or steps I could take to regain direct contact with my child, restore my parental rights, or revert my child’s surname. She did not explain the assessment tools used to form her recommendations, either in the report or during the final hearing. I have attempted to seek clarification via email, yet she has not responded with any helpful information.
4. Short-Notice Requests and Procedural Unfairness
cafcass Representative failed to act fairly and impartially. She arranged last-minute questioning just before the hearing without prior notice or explanation. Additionally, she sat next to the mother, Respondent, during proceedings and admitted to having multiple private phone conversations with her before the final hearing. Such actions raise serious concerns about procedural fairness and potential bias.
5. Lack of Transparency and Professionalism
Cafcass Representative responses during the hearing were vague and non-specific, yet she criticized my answers as being too general. The hearing transcripts indicate that her own statements lacked clarity, and she did not provide a proper framework for me to address any concerns raised in the case.
She was accompanied by a colleague, who appeared visibly uncomfortable with Cafcass Representative behavior but was unable to intervene, as she was present only to observe. During my meeting with them, I recorded the interview for personal reference. However, cafcass Represenative stated that I was “not allowed to use the recording elsewhere,” which raises concerns about transparency and fairness. This restriction contradicts my fundamental right to a fair trial under the Human Rights Act 1998 (Article 6: Right to a Fair Trial).
Request for Resolution
Given the seriousness of these concerns, I request that Cafcass:
1. Conduct a formal investigation into Cafcass Representative conduct, including her unprofessional behavior and potential bias.
2. Provide a clear explanation as to why no guidance or remedial steps were included in the Section 7 report.
3. Ensure that Cafcass officers remain impartial and do not engage in private communications with either party before hearings.
4. Review internal procedures to prevent litigants in person from being subjected to last-minute, high-pressure questioning without prior notice.
I trust that Cafcass will take this Review seriously and ensure that future cases are handled with greater fairness, professionalism, and transparency. Please confirm receipt of this Review and provide an update on the next steps in your investigation.

The cafcass worker had made her mind up before she even rang me didn't listen to my side at all and was clearly biased against me because I'm a man theirs clear evidence my ex is abusive but cafcass turn ablind eye because she's a woman. Dont expect to be treated fairly if you've not got a vagina.

Cafcass what a useless lot they clearly don't care about the needs of the children they prolong everything as it been 8 months since I've seen or heard from my children. And I hope they read this and know what they are doing to people's families it's disgusting

Clear, undeniable evidence was presented to my CAFCASS worker of abuse from the mother toward our son. In isolation, i'd say I was just unfortunate to have the Hatch Job done on me by the Judge and the Case Worker as 3 years of Alienation in and I'm now being told I have to undertake a Domestic Abuse Programme despite zero evidence being provided by the mother. This will likely extend my Alienation for a further year at least. The mother has alienated her entire family compromising 4 generations from our son and evidence has proven that he is screaming out to see all of us. This is just the top of the iceberg. CAFCASS are Child abusers. Fact !

My daughters mother is also a social worker. She lied throughout the case, with CAFCASS brighton covering for her every step.
Cafcass withheld police information from the court, allowing the mothers defamation and phycological abuse of me to continue in front of everyone.
They completely ignored everything I was saying about the toxic household my daughter was growing up in with a step father who never let her talk to me, and then aided and abetted the mothers perjury when she lied in court, which is a crime.
Their complaints department are not responding to some very simple questions, because they are trying to cover for the social workers crime/malpractice. CAFCASS are therefore being reported to social work England and further action is being taken

UPDATE: Complaints department finally got back, they agreed its acceptable for controlling step father Jonny Aston to manipulate children and the court process, and refused to comment on the social worker Tasha Beaumont Kaye aiding and abetting.

A father who wants to maintain peace and do the best by their children.

A mother who causes contention, destruction, permanent problems and cause unspeakable evil by using the child as a weapon of control.

Any reasonable person would agree the Father has the child's best interests.

Unfortunately the modern world has become so addicted to punishment, the mantra of 'every woman's a victim and could never do anything wrong ever' combined with never ending blaming of the man and all common sense out the window has caused the courts and CAFCASS to become hell on earth.

The best way to describe the family court and CAFCASS is like appearing before the devil himself and asking him if you can work in co-operation so your child can have a good relationship with both parents and expecting any result.

In my personal experience, yes I am no angel, but neither was my ex, far from it. They expect the man to take full accountability and yet expect a woman to accept absolutely zero accountability and portray her as this 'survivor and holy angel from heaven' even when it's clear as the day and night to see that they are part of the problem.

The short version is, if you want to work together for your child and have your child's best interests at heart then good luck to you because if your ex is on a vindictive relentless evil vendetta the courts and cafcass will empower them even more and encourage more conflict.

Men are nothing in this world anymore, many men commit suicide and no one batters an eye. If a woman's feelings are hurt, then a never ending blackhole opens up and the void absorbs all light and life.

When it comes to custody, men usually put aside all the abuse they have faced from their previous partner and focus solely on being a Dad. A woman more than likely and almost with certainty will not let anything drop, ever and will continue to cause more distress and abuse at the cost of everyone, giving jo thought, no mercy, no compassion and they cannot be reasoned with.

Institutionally corrupt and case after case is never about the child - never has been and has not changed.
They refuse to change the culture and just go ahead and destroy families (And a lot of Suicides as a result).

An absolute joke of an organisation who are incompetent and simply a disgrace. Children are being put at risk by these people and their lack of action, the government need to put serious measures in place to better support children and their families. Utter waste of taxpayers money.

What an absolute shocking and biased organisation...as a single Father that wanted to see my Son's...this corrupt organisation was probably the worst experience I've ever had...I let them know that I suffered from depression as a result of not seeing my Son's and they tried to use that against me...blatant discrimination....

Cafcass: A National Disgrace Ignoring Families in Crisis

Cafcass is one of the most incompetent and disgraceful organisations I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Their supposed purpose is to safeguard the welfare of children, but in reality, they are complicit in enabling abusers, ignoring evidence, and traumatising the very families they claim to support.

The experience I had with Cafcass was nothing short of appalling. Their staff showed blatant bias, twisting facts, dismissing professional evidence, and siding with a parent who refused to engage with assessments and even lied about their involvement. Despite overwhelming proof of controlling and abusive behaviour, Cafcass ignored everything and allowed this individual to continue their reign of coercive control through the family court system.

Reports were filled with inaccuracies, misrepresentations, and outright fabrications. Professional observations from my child’s school were completely twisted, and the true struggles my child faces were downplayed or ignored entirely. Worse still, Cafcass staff felt entitled to reject the findings of qualified mental health professionals despite having no expertise or qualifications themselves. This is negligence, pure and simple, and it has caused irreparable harm to my family.

Their audacity doesn’t stop there. They accused me of sharing their flawed and biased Section 7 report with my child—an outright lie. My child spoke about their struggles of their own accord, yet Cafcass decided to turn this into another baseless accusation against me, further demonstrating their complete ignorance of my family’s dynamics.

What’s worse is their attitude toward victims of domestic abuse. Cafcass perpetuates the toxic and dangerous idea that victims should “co-parent” with their abusers. They have no understanding of coercive control and no interest in protecting those who are vulnerable. For years, I’ve faced harassment and control through the courts, and Cafcass has done nothing but enable this behaviour by dismissing clear evidence and refusing to act.

This isn’t just my story—it’s the story of millions of families across the country. Everywhere you look, Cafcass is drowning in negative reviews from people who have no choice but to use their service. These aren’t isolated incidents; this is a systemic failure. Families are being failed every day by an organisation that prioritises bureaucracy over humanity, bias over fairness, and negligence over professionalism. Why is Cafcass ignoring the cries of so many families? Why are they refusing to listen to the countless voices demanding change?

Cafcass’s staff are unprofessional, unresponsive, and completely unfit for purpose. Complaints go unanswered for months, evidence is ignored, and their handling of cases is nothing short of a disaster. Only when you escalate matters to external bodies like the Ombudsman do they even begin to acknowledge their failings. This is not how a public service should operate.

The reality is that Cafcass is broken. They are failing children, failing families, and enabling abusers to continue their control unchecked. If Cafcass cared at all about the families they claim to support, they would acknowledge their failings and take immediate steps to reform their processes, retrain their staff, and hold themselves accountable for the harm they have caused.

Until then, they will remain a disgrace to this country, and I will continue to speak out until real change is made. Families deserve better. Children deserve better. Cafcass must do better.
