Excellent service

I thought the service was excellent. I was notified when my parcel arrived in the inventory. I then received really helpful help in the next step. My parcel arrived very promptly and I was really happy with it. Thanks Bongo International. I am going to place another order soon. I would definitely recommend them to other customers wanting to shop internationally.

The Worst Service Ever

Although I have tried to contact them on multiple occasions I have been ignored. They shipped my stuff out with an absolutely ridiculous value attached to my goods meaning I had to pay way over in tax and duties. The actual value of my shipment was $339 and they entered $615.44. They even had the original invoices...why did they do that? I filled out their forms and I clearly explained the values to them but...do they make money by doing that?
No matter what they say about 24 hour contact service etc - there is no way in getting in touch with them. Their 'Help' section just points you to a FAQ that has no link to contact. There is some weird way that you have to enter 'contact' into the search box but even this doesn't work all the time - it's a bit like the slot machines - very lucky if you actually get it. I think the only way you will ever be able to get in touch is to go through a review site like this one.
This is not the first time they had made these mistakes. They claim to be a subsidiary of FedEx so I will be making an official complaint to them as they at least have a way to contact them.
Their repacking is poor - they just throw your goods into a box. I received several damaged items because of their repacking. I accept that things do get damaged in the post but with just a little care, it could have been avoided.
As for costs - there are a few hidden extras that I'm sure they will claim are standard but that isn't true either.
Bongo you owe me $180 and a few hours of wasted time.
You are not only the worst shipping company I have used, but probably the worst anything I have used. Shame on you but shame on me for not researching you first.

Though 98%-99% of our packages are processed without issue or error, we do make errors whether human or mechanical, we work hard to prevent them if at all possible but they do happen. The worst service ever, unbelievable ridiculous

I ordered a lift-kit and a pair of shocks at purefjcruiser for my brother birthday gift. I waited more than one month to wait bongo add tax and duty into the product. I ordered the lift-kit on 03/25/2015, but it still not delivered,even slow than sea shipping .And I called bongo, they are kick ball to merchant. They said they are waiting for merchant reply. But merchant said they already delivered to Bongo address. I don't know what going on Bongo. And It takes more than one month for Bongo add tax and duty into product. I am a kind and patient person. But Bongo is really drive me crazy. The most ridiculous thing is that after I purchase the shocks. I did the credit card verification as they sent email to verify online last week. It said successful. However, when I check the order Status is still showing pending . Then I called Bongo at 3pm to make sure. And the agent who pick up the phone said I have been verify successful, they are processing my order. Guess what ,Two hour later I get a email from Bongo said my order was been cancelled. I am shock when I see the email. Then I call bongo, the agent said the reason is I did not do credit card verification within six days. What's happened to Bongo

I used this company some time ago to order some softball equipment for my children. Everything went smoothly and didn't cost the earth.
The other day I purchased an iphone wallet for a 6 plus which cost $23 on sale but the vendor didn't ship to Australia. I sent it to Bongo who now tell me because of the size of the package they are going to charge me $48 to send to Australia. The dimensions are (in inches) 8.0 x 4.25 x 1.0.
Surely as most other suppliers of this wallet are happy to charge USD9.95 to send to Australia, Bongo would have similar charges even add your USD5.00 fee. This is a small wallet for goodness sakes, it doesn't weigh anything. It can fit into an envelope. And the excuse, "Thank you for contacting us. Shipping costs are determined by the size of the box when it arrives at our warehouse, not the actual weight or cost of the item. There are also other fees that may apply such as Box Fees, Duties and Taxes, Fuel Surcharge, etc. " Seriously?, the size of the box? How big was it? Remember 8 x 4.25 x 1 inches.
And that reply came after 4 hours of trying to find an email address that actually accepted incoming mail.
Whats it going to be Bongo are you going to be logical and reasonable and maybe you may get some return business or are you going to stick to your guns and prove all these other people right, that you are actually scamming people!

We have passed this on to our customer service manager and he has reviewed your concerns. Unfortunately, the data you've provided in this feedback did not correlate to an order in our system that we could locate. With this we hope you bear with our generic answers.

First, as outlined on our website shipping cost are based on the size of the boxes received at our warehouse. We have a very nice calculator for use to obtain estimates prior to make purchases.

The rates we use are extremely competitive and are better than that of rates you get elsewhere, please note we use FedEx International Air to ship our products. The reasons we default to dimensional weight is because, rates for international shipments with our company are determined on how much "space" the package takes up on a cargo airplane.

We sincerely apologize you experienced frustrations with our ticketing systems, we have passed your feedback to our senior leaders and will use it to improve out system processes.

Who doesnt have an customer service email facility in the 21st century?

Would never use them or recommend them. Shop elsewhere and pay the difference if the company uses Bongo as their agent. Massive invoice discrepancy between online purchase and commercial invoice. Wasted 2 weeks going back and forth to try and get a commercial invoice that was reflective of the order confirmation as the amounts were substantially different. Their customer service couldn't understand or service the request. The closest I got was a order confirmation in a blank word document.... comical really!
Website interface for help is useless and it's like they are playing hide and seek - if I want to go on a merrygoround I'd go to a theme park! Comical customer service options is the best description and people/businesses should have the right to just send an email without having to subscribe.
They claim they don't have any smoke and mirrors behind their work, but upon asking for a copy of the currency conversion policy 3 times, they never provided it.
NEVER AGAIN AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!!!

In this tool you can open a support ticket, these tickets go through the nanoRep system to our customer service team who is prompt in responding. Bongous just disappoint me :(

i was think bongo shipping charges will low but no i was wrong :D

they charge me for Box and also for fuel which is ok for me.

Yesterday i was request to ship my shipment to my another US address and was paid in full and order was showing as reviewing payment etc.

after contact with bongo CS regarding my shipment via email they reply me this.

Overcharges,no customer service

At first I loved bongo, easy to get in to contact with, they answered questions, and shipping prices were reasonable.. Until last year. Theyve just charged me £30 (minus tax and insurance) to ship FOUR lipsticks to London from US!! A few months ago I ordered candles from US and shipped it over to bongo yet bongo did not notify me of it's arrival for WEEKS and charged me £60 just because they had been there so long THEN charged me shipping/box/handling whatever. So to ship 4 candles came to $110!! And they arrived smashed! And I've contacted ten numerous times about this ,it's 2015 and they still haven't answered.

I've been using this company since I started my online business but I'm not coming back.

Happy overall

I made a Bongo account recently after the seller of an object I bought on Ebay refused to ship to Europe from his location (US).

At first there were some problems with logging in and using my creditcard, but soon after these were resolved.

My package arrived safely at the Bongo warehouse and they updated the status of my order accordingly. They even made a picture of the object so I could inspect it's state.

The shipping is pretty expensive, I believe it is based on weight. I had a very lightweight package (less than 1 kg) and already had shippingcosts over 50 USD. With this came some additional fees. It is a lot of money, but I understand this is how they make profit and a company like this exists. If you want to ship a large/heavy item it might be too expensive in my opinion.

After shipping the updates were placed rapidly and I could track my order perfectly. Shipping went fast and the object arrived safely packed!

Would use again.

I'm quite surprised you wrote me.
FYI I was asked to pay vat (17.75 eur) as well as clerk fees (13.50eur) + 2.84 eur vat for the clerk fees
No duties/customs fees whatsoever!! because they don't apply! (please see all attachments)

The amount for the item on the customs declaration was false (98usd) and that was the base for the invoice I had to pay!!The item I shipped to Spain cost me 49.99usd in the US (I've got the invoice from the seller) Besides, the original invoice was missing from the parcel!!!

The whole thing is a scam! I couldn't expect something like that from a company such as Bongo/Fedex! All you did is illegal and I will inform customs about. False value declared based on a false invoice...

I want a refund on the amount I was forced to pay as:
1/ It's illegal. I paid no duties but vat+clerk fees.
2/ Your company failed to advise there was any fee to pay.

It'a disgusting. I will post my bad experience with you everywhere in the net.

I bought a hoodie (49,99 usd of which 10usd were postage costs) in the US. As I don't have an address there, I opened an account with Bongo International so they would take care of reception and forwarding to my address in Spain.
I was charged 5 usd for stocking my item for 24 hrs
Bongo International debited my card with some 51eur as shipping cost (1kg parcel; some weeks before I had paid only 20usd for twice the weight with another company); basically, they don't allow you to contract the transport with your favourite courier. That's illegal!!!
Besides I had to pay an extra charge upon receipt!!!
I was asked some 31 eur to be paid upon delivery of the parcel. They didn't advice any charges to be paid on delivery because it's simply illegal! The item I asked to be shipped to Spain was a hoodie (I paid 49,99usd for it). That item is not subjected to any charge/customs duty!!!
Bongo and their forwarder declared a false value for the parcel in order to justify those duties to the custom office. They also stole the original invoice.
The invoice I received read 17 eur as duties and 14 eur as clerk charges.
A hoodie which value was 39,99 usd cost me around 100usd only in shipping costs!!!!!! Mad
Bongo International are just a gang of swindlers!!!

Having received some feedback from those swindlers.
I quote them "Lastly, in regards to duties and/or taxes if you have the option to prepay, based on country or goods (or both) we will help facilitate that for you. In this instance you did not pre-pay duties and taxes, we have confirmed with customs that because the good went out duties/taxes unpaid. They would need to be paid upon delivery."

1/US T-shirts entering the EU are NOT subjected to any duty!!!
2/No information about duty/customs fees to be paid was offered when booking the shipment
3/In case of duty were compulsory, I could have done the import myself (I'm a forwarder). That would have made me save some money.
It's a fraud!!! You ripped me off
Again it's ridiculous to think that I have paid 39,99usd for the item itself (a hoodie, just that) and 10 usd for us-us shipment + 5 usd as storage (box) + 51 eur for us-eu shipment & 34 eur as UNDUED customs fees

You ripp off people.

We confirmed that the total to ship the item was 47.61USD, there were two additional fees for the order neither of which were a storage fee as you suggested, there was a 5.00USD box fee and 5.00USD fuel cost. These rates were accurate and very competitive in the international eCommerce business. Below are the explanations of the charges:

- Box Fee (number of boxes shipping): $5.00 for each box shipped to your Bongo address.
- Fuel Surcharge: A fee charged based on the the cost of the shipment for fuel and other maintenance.

As far as carrier choices; we appreciate your feedback but we are now owned by FedEx. As the integration of our two companies continues, you will see expanded shipping options but you will not have the ability to chose a different carrier. We understand that this may not be the solution for all customers, but we truly appreciate the feedback.

Lastly, in regards to duties and/or taxes if you have the option to prepay, based on country or goods (or both) we will help facilitate that for you. In this instance you did not pre-pay duties and taxes, we have confirmed with customs that because the good went out duties/taxes unpaid. They would need to be paid upon delivery.

Stay away from this company as far a possible

I bought a Emotiva Home Theatre amplifier. Emotiva is great. Unfortunately I have to deal with Bongo in the shipping process. The website showed a certain delivery date.
Bongo just introduced a 4-5 day delay but saying they charged a small amount of money from my credit card and I have to prove what it is. I would like to cancel my order but you can't even contact customer service via email. The website also shows that no orders will be cancelled.

First and last order if Bongo is involved - that's for sure. I may have potentially lost AUS $3200.

We have send this request to the customer service manager, he has assured us that your order will be cancelled and the pending charge on your account will drop off.

We are sorry you're frustrated with the verification process, we have this in place to protect you the international consumer. We want to ensure such a large order was made by you the cardholder. In the process: we have deposited or charged a small amount between $0.01 to $3.00 into your account. You would then need to contact us to verify it.

The order itself has not yet been processed, and you will only see the amount pending on your bank/credit card statement. Once we cancel the order, the pending charge will disappear.

I would use Bongo again

I had 3 shipments from US online stores who would not either deliver to Europe, or accept a UK billing address. Bongo consolidated all 3, sent photos of each item, and delivered very very fast, duty paid.
One off the US stores did not register my Mailbox correctly which worried me that Bongo would not know who it was for. I added the tracking number to my Bongo account, and Bongo added the delivery same day they received it.
Ive shipped from US shops direct and it can take 7 to 10 days to clear customs in UK and arrive. Bongo did the whole thing in a few days.
The only tiny negative was the accuracy of Fedex tracking who showed the pack in the US on the day it arrived at my house in the UK.
Expensive at face value, but with duty paid and the speed of service, I'd use Bongo again any time.

We have sent this to our customer service manager for review. Orders may have a security verification to protect you the consumer from credit card fraud. Your order was pending this verification.

In verification we deposit/deduct a small amount on your credit card or bank account between $0.01 to $3.00. You as the card holder would verify that data to prove your identity and process the payment. We see that you successfully have completed that and the order is in route to you.

We appreciate constructive feedback but we are very sorry to see you reviewed us as a one star, the only reason we process random payments review is for your protection.

RIP-OFF/SCAM

AVOID!!! I would have paid good money to post this review had it been required. First and last time I use Bongo. Ordered a $59 (USD) little boy's shirt from Zappos.com. Was willing to pay the $5 box fee of Bongo International. Have ordered frequently from the States, so I thought shipping of this item would be minimal, whether it was by mail or courier service. Surely Bongo would provide its customers with different delivery options. Nope. First sign of trouble. Bongo couldn't figure out how to send to my hometown, (pop 7500), or even the larger city close by (pop. 94,000) without asking for a $30 extra fee to deliver to more "remote" addresses. Odd, since I have never had any trouble having other parcels delivered to my residence. Finally, decided to have the parcel delivered to my sister's address in Calgary (164 miles away) to avoid this "extra" charge. Cost of using Bongo's service--$54.66 (USD). Declined the "pay duty up front" fee of $20 (USD), since at this point I figured that charge would be inflated too. Actual cost of duty was $14 (CAD). This site doesn't even deserve a one star rating. It deserves a minus 5 star rating. AVOID!!!!

We are sorry that you felt frustration with your order with Bongo International. We have sent this feedback to our customer service manager.

We received confirmation that the total to ship the item was 54.66USD, which included 44.94USD in international shipping, 5.00USD box fee and 4.72USD fuel cost. These rates were accurate and very competitive in the international eCommerce business. Below are the explanations of the charges:

- Box Fee (number of boxes shipping): $5.00 for each box shipped to your Bongo address.
- Fuel Surcharge: A fee charged based on the the cost of the shipment for fuel and other maintenance.

Unfortunately, we have confirmed that Bongo International did not charge you a Remote Delivery Charge: Remote delivery charges are issued when your delivery location is not one that FedEx will ship to normally. We are going to send you a separate receipt of your total costs.

If this was a charged assessed upon delivery from FedEx, then you could have contacted us and we would have paid that difference. Our service agreement allows for us to make payments for additional costs incurred. We have researched our ticketing and phone system and cannot find contact data for your telephone number or email address.

Since we are committed to you our valued customer, we have processed a refund for the amount you stated you were charged (presumably from the shipping company) we take your experience on good faith, and we are sorry you did not give us the chance to rectify the situation.

Closed account after 6 years. Worst service.

I never bother leaving reviews but I will for this company. Used them for 6 years and even though the shipping rates were ridiculously expensive and the $15 a month membership was steep, there weren't many other shipping companies around so I just used them. The service became increasingly worse, the shipping more expensive. They reduced the time they would store things for you from 60 days to 30 days with just a short email. They changed conditions all the time. After 6 years of patronage, they unceremoniously removed items from my storage after 30 days on the dot and threw them out. I didn't even realize the limit had changed because I had been with them for so long. You'd think theyd be lenient after 6 years of monthly payments or at least warn me so I could mail them out.. Nope. They dumped my purchases in the bin, mind you, there was other stuff in there so clearly there was space and other items but they took the time to go through my purchases and throw stuff out and leave the items that hadn't been there as long. So unnecessary. I was furious and wrote to them, they basically told me if I didn't like it, cancel my account. So after 6 years, I did. Then found a shipping company whose price is $50 a year not $15 a month and whose shipping rates have been lower than half of Bongo.

We are sorry to hear about your feeling in regards to your account, we have confirmed the details of the storage policy for our warehouses, and it is to hold on to goods for 21 days free of charge, but after those 21 days the goods will incur storage fees at the rate of $5 per box per day. After 30 days, the goods may be disposed of.

This is a policy put in place due to space constraints within our warehouses, and unfortunately cannot be bypassed in any way. We ask that all customers ship goods out of their Bongo accounts within 30 days of their receipt.

While items are in your inventory, you receive daily emails reminding you of the storage policy. After the 21st day, offer discounts on shipping the older items in an effort to encourage you to activate the items before the end of the 30 day period.

We brought this to the attention of our customer service manager, and he stated that if you contact customer service with the details of your experience (because there was no identifiable data in your valued feedback). He will be happy to pull the record of daily email notifications, if the notifications were not delivered or reviewed by you, he will offer a full reimbursement for the disposed of goods.

We retain a history of all emails sent to our customers and if they were never sent, or received; we want to ensure you receive fair reimbursement.

Charge my card but there is no update of status of my order since 6 January 2015z1

I thought I could give this site a shot using their Personal Shopping Service but I was wrong. I was charged the amount for the service and a order number given to me but I did not receive any confirmation email from them since I made my payment on 6 Jan. Total scam! I hope there is some response from the company.

Poor customer service

I placed an order with Bongo, they confirmed and took the money, then a couple of days later they advised the following:
Hello,

We were attempting to place your order with hometrainingtools.com for "Carbon electrode rod, 0.25" x 4"" for $1.60 each. We are sad to say that we are unable to locate the item at that price. For that reason we have had to cancel the order. Please verify the pricing and submit again if you would like.

So I waited a few days for the refund - nothing. I tried phoning and after waiting on hold for an hour at exceptionally high international calling rates I hung up. I typed into their help section where is my refund and this is the message:
Check Refund

Hello
We are very sorry about the delay with your refund. Unfortunately we cannot refund your credit card anymore as the time has elapsed. We will need to send you a check. Can you please email with the Payee Name and Address of where to send the check so we can have our payments department issue your refund by check.

Anyway, I emailed and after a few days the money was refunded back to credit card. It was quite stressful as you don't quite know if anyone is actually at the other end.

We have a strict commitment to making sure that you have no surprises when using our personal shopper tool, which is why we cancel orders that have a price variance.

In regards to setting up an order, at the point you describe your card would have only had a pending transaction. When our personal shopper team saw the price variance, they cancelled the order, which means that the pending charge would have been removed and no monies would have been debited.

We discussed this with our accounting team and they confirmed that when a personal shopper order is cancelled, there would be nothing to refund as we never debited your account.

The reason our customer service team asked you to send documentation of the charge to consumer_attachments@bongous.com would be to begin an investigation. If in fact your card was charged, we could resolve this quickly by offering a refund.

Unfortunately, you have not provided enough data in this feedback to allow us to research and resolve. We can only speculate based off of policy. I hope that you revisit this with our customer service team if you were in fact charged. If it was a pending charge that dropped off when the order was cancelled, this answer will explain why.

Slechte service; KIES iets anders

Ik had een dure Michelin Delicieus Logeren besteld twv van 450 EUR.
Na een vervelende ervaring privé duurde dit langer dan gepland om in te vullen......en ja u raadt het al, deze is verlopen en wordt niets meer aan gedaan.

Ronduit schandalig dat dit mag en kan !

Ik heb meerdere mails gestuurd en ook aangetoond dat ik vaker gebruik van hun diensten maakte, maar ook dit mocht niet baten.

Ik adviseer iedereen ECHT iets anders te kiezen !

Na dit bericht ben ik per mail benaderd dat ze geprobeerd hadden mij te bereiken en dat ik een nummer kon bellen waar ik geholpen zou worden....na dit gedaan te hebben, ging het verhaal gewoon verder hahaha. Dit doen ze alleen omdat iedereen kan lezen dat ze wel reageren voor de buitenwereld.
Het was in ieder geval ZEKER niet om echt iets te verhelpen.
