Great Service everytime

A great way to get shipments from the USA or other parts of the world.
Bongos rate are very competitive and the goods get here (Australia) so fast, 4-5 days! I would recommend Bongo to anyone...full stop.

Bongo is overcharging me!!! (Updated)

I ordered 2 belts and 1 scarf online and ship to Bongo's Belgium address, after my shipment came in, Bongo claimed that one of the box is too big so they have to calculated the shipping cost in billable weight 30 pounds which will cost me US$160 to ship it to HK.
I called their customer services and told them there is no way 2 belt and 1 scarf will weight that much, I shipped 2 pairs of shoes before it was just cost me US$60 in April, i requested them to re measure again on the size and they insist it was correct. They explained to me that was not an actual weight but the dimensional weight, they offered me 20% discount so i end up paying US$140.

Today i have got my box, I found there is no way to fit in 2 pair of shoes, no matter the dimension weight or actual weight still not possible to be that expensive. Bongo is over charging me. This is an unreasonable charge as I shipped all around the world, no one ever charged that much. Furthermore, Bongo's attitude is not helpful at all, they cannot convince me why they have to charge that much, they even tell me to ship to other forwarder if i do not happy with the price!!! This is the worst forwarder I have ever used.

Finally the company offered me full refund, I accepted that, and I am satisfy on this case as i respect them as a company who is willing to take responsibility and they do care about their customers. I will recommend their services to my friends in future, and i am so glad we can settle the case.

First and foremost we take all of our customer feedback seriously.

Though we understand your frustration, we want to explain to you our shipping costs. The shipping cost is determined by the dimensional weight of your package or its actual weight - whichever is greater. Dimensional weight is calculated by taking the package dimensions, multiplying them together, and dividing the result by 139 (Length x Width x Height/139). If the dimensional weight of an item is greater than the actual weight of the item, the dimensional weight is used. This is the standard for international shipping, and we happen to use FedEx International Air which is a more expedited method of shipping.

Think about shipping a bumper. The actual weight of that bumper may only be 10 pounds, but it takes up a lot of space on the truck and the plane, so the dimensional weight may come out to 40 or 50 pounds.

Also, because we use the measurements of the incoming boxes, you cannot compare this shipment to previous shipments you’ve made – unless the merchant who shipped us the items used the exact box size each time no matter its contents. We strongly encourage all customer to research with the merchants they purchase from to determine the size of the box that will be received by Bongo. If you had obtained the box dimensions, and used our calculator prior to making the purchase you would have received a fair estimate.

Our customer service manager is aware of your feedback, and after having spoken with you on the phone he offered a discount of 20% being that you are a valued and long term customer. We have sent this feedback to him again, and he has had the shipping cost checked again and it was accurate. He also, went to FedEx’s main site and confirmed that had you shipped FedEx direct (not using the discount we receive based off our volume) your shipment would have been 40% higher than the initial cost you paid. If you add your 20% off coupon, this shipment is 60% discounted from what you would have paid shipping yourself directly, with the same method and same distance.

We also took the time to review the phone conversations, our staff was trying to be helpful in offering the names of some of our competitors whom you could try contacting to find more competitive rates. But in regards to this shipment there was nothing more we could have done at the time to assist in reducing the costs.

We are sincerely sorry to see a valued customer leave, but we understand that our rates are simply too high to keep your business. As a good will gesture, our customer service manager will offer a full refund on this shipping and we will close your account per your feedback.

We hope you find this resolution satisfactory and we thank you for your years of business.

Worst. Mail Forwarder. Ever.

I am an American living overseas and we have been Bongo customers for 7 long miserable years now and have given them thousands of our dollars. In my eyes, a mail forwarder's job is to :

1. Stay in one place.
2. Receive my mail.
3. Forward it on to me.

Simple right? Wrong. Bongo has completely and utterly failed at all three seemingly simple objectives.

1. They move more then we do! In the 7 years that we have been customers they have moved at least 3 times. This has meant that we had to go through the trouble of changing all of our addresses on all of our accounts because they sure as heck didn't forward our mail on to their new address as one would expect mail forwarders to do.

2. In our minds, one of the main reasons to keep a US address was to receive financial correspondance in order to keep our US financial accounts going while were living overseas. Little did we know that checks and new credit cards would destroyed WITHOUT ANY SORT OF NOTIFICATION. Tax return check, gone! New credit cards, gone! Gift check from uncle, gone! When I found this out, their lackluster customer service representative's response was "didn't you read the policies?" By the way, I still have not found any place on their website where I can find this information.

Not only are checks and credit cards destroyed but ALL YOUR MAIL IS DESTROYED if it is stored there for more than 21 days WITHOUT NOTIFICATION. What the hell am I paying $30 a month for then? I was also completely unaware of this until today (when I cancelled my account). Again their lackluster customer service representative's response was "didn't you read the policies?" By the way, I still have not found any place on their website where I can find this information either.

3. IF you have any mail that has not been destroyed you will be charged ridiculous prices to have that mail forwarded to you. My last (and lightest) shipment contained about 10 pieces of paper but cost me over $50 to be sent over. Not overnight, mind you, it took something like 5 days to get to London. Absolutely ridiculous.

So, after 7 long disappointing years I can honestly tell anyone who is even thinking of opening a Bongo account. DON'T DO IT! THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR MAIL / PURCHASES / ANYTHING. Do not make the same stupid mistake I did in trusting them with my mail.

GOOD RIDDANCE.

Bongo International was founded in 2007, since then we have been a rapidly growing company in the industry, to the point that we were acquired by FedEx Trade Networks. As a business grows, so must our operational warehouses. You are correct that we have made three moves in the past four years, this is due to rapid growth and expanded customer solutions. A positive attribute to our success.

We understand your comments about our storage policy. With the lack of space in our warehouses we do have a storage policy. You can find the storage policy outlined here: https://bongous.com/legal/

In addition to the policy being listed on our site, when you signed up for your account you agreed to the terms and conditions of our policy, including storage. Our customer service manager reviewed your account and using the email address on file – you received successful emails notifications daily alerting you to inventory in your mailbox. Also, the last five emails we sent offered discount coupon codes to encourage you to ship the items; including details of our storage policy.

Our customer service manager pulled the call for quality assurance and our staff conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism; per the conversation you acknowledged to us: “no one reads storage policies”. This is the responsibility of the consumer to understand the policies, and based off of this decide if we are the correct solution for you.

Lastly, as you noted we default to FedEx International Air for our transit, depending on processing and accounting verification it can take 2-5 days to received items shipped from one of our domestic hub. The transit times you described are normal for the services we offer.

We sincerely hope you found value in our explanations, and again we are truly sorry to see you go!

Account blocked, I as consumen severely impaired.

Make atonement in my account number B287293 suite on the 11th May by using jasapembayaran.com as a third party in making payments. Since I do not have Credit card or paypal. Once the payment is done I got an email from stating bongous to copy id credit cards as verification. Then I confirm to the jasapembayaran.com And they refused to do so because the rules of their company. In this case I feel aggrieved, after making a payment and how long the funds declined in refund? And how to account My blocked? I am very aggrieved. I as a consumer is very difficult to communicate with bongous, and email I always send an automatic email reply from the bongous.

After review of your mailbox it was found that your account was frozen for the following reason: the IP address associated with the email account used to open this mailbox was identified in connection to international credit card fraud.

Additionally, you have created multiple accounts with multiple email addresses, using different names each time all with the same IP address. We kindly sent you a message in regards to this; and the merchant can contact us to recover the product in your account.

Bongo Facilitates Credit Card Fraud

I was contacted by Citibank credit card fraud department alerting me that someone was trying to buy laptops with my card.

Laptops were shipped to Bongo's warehouse. The address is 861 E. Sandhill Ave. , Mailbox # 285007 Carson, CA 90746.

I closed my card account and contacted Bongo directly to complain. They are difficult to contact and their email reply was : "We have done everything we can with this account" - whatever that means.

US authorities and the FBI should investigate the fraud being facilitated by Bongo International

We are sincerely sorry you have been the victim of credit card fraud. We want to first let you know that we do not in any way facilitate or tolerate fraud in any manner. Having recently been acquired by FedEx, the acquisition happened first and foremost due to the dedication and integrity of the Bongo International team, which extends heavily into fraud prevention and protection.

Unfortunately, the data you referenced is not associated to an order or mailbox which matches your experience, so I cannot offer specific details to your feedback. Though I want to reiterate: we do not in any way facilitate or tolerate fraud in any manner at Bongo International.

Fraud comes in many forms in international e-commerce, including: criminal fraud, friendly fraud and customs fraud – and we tolerate none of them. Here are some of the steps we take when we are notified of a fraudulent transaction:

1) When notified of credit card fraud, either from the bank, the merchant or the consumer we immediately freeze the associated order/mailbox
2) If the funds can be reimbursed, we will do so with 24-48 hours
3) If the product is recoverable, we will send the product back to the merchant – usually paying for the cost of shipping to return the goods purchased through fraud
4) If the product is already in transit to its destination we will work with our shipper to have the goods turned around to our warehouse – usually paying for the cost of the return shipment

As you can see, not only do we not facilitate fraud; but we go to great lengths to prevent and recover goods and funds when fraud is involved.

Cannot ship and contact form is a joke

Getting my credit card declined due to a number format error.....
I have payed for so many things with this card from many international sellers and NEVER had any issues.
Can't pay via PayPal or anything else either.

Their contact form won't accept the "business website" so you can't even submit the form.

Please email me regarding this as I want my items.

Can't contact!!!!

Update : using nice words won't help here. As it seems you don't understand that there is a problem with your contact form .there are many reviews here about it and you are keep saying the same stuff. We know our way online and yours is the wrong one. Your prices are way more expensive than other companies and I'm very sorry I choose you first. Now I know and I'll never do this mistake again. Lost shipment.

I ordered an item from ebay and had it sent to BongoUs. The USPS tracking site shows the shipment was delivered, checked with the USPS post office and they confirm that it was delivered, however BongoUS claims that they never received my shipment.

Money lost and lesson learned. Never again.

Since your first contact to us on 05/10/2015, we have completed three separate searches of our California warehouse and the package was not delivered there.

We further looked into the communication between you and our customer service staff and it was confirmed: when you purchased the item off ebay you accidentally inputted the "ship to" address incorrectly. Per the conversation between us and the shipper it appears as if this package was delivered to another address in the city in which our warehouse is located.

We strongly urged you to file a claim with the shipper for a missing package.

We are sorry you rated us a one star as we have no control over incoming shipments, and we have the correct shipping address located on our website - per our communication with you, you were aware you did not ship this package to the correct address. Shipping to Belgium

This is a great way to have items Delivered in Europe if the seller does not ship outside the USA.
Everything went smoothly and items arrived as expected.
Explanations are clear.
The only downside to it is that I do find this service somehow expensive.

No reply from Bongo; impossible to contact!!

Been trying to contact Bongo for a long time about a cancelled order....Impossible to get hold of a human being with Bongo! No email address...a impossible call centre to reach!! Anyone for a solution? They took my money but cancelled my order due to the fact that I never received a notification for a verification amount so that I couldn't verify the order.

Worst exchange rate and postage is daylight robbery!

Didn't actually proceed with my order as the 2 items that I ordered were $16.99 each, so the whole way through the payment procedure the total is $33.98, right up until the last minute when it changes to Bongo's site, suddenly the items are $25 something each now showing Aussie dollars. This is the current exchange rates from one of our leading banks Exchange rates
Rates current as at 18/05/2015 09:00:34 AM

USD0.76, this would make it $40 not $50.79.

And then the postage for a parcel that weighs 2lb2oz - $285!!!!!!

Are you people off your heads?

How are you? Unfortunately, we cannot send this to our customer service team for review as the account data you provided does not correspond to a mailbox. So we will answer in generic terms.

First, in regards to currency conversion. Foreign exchange rates provided on the internet or at banks usually reflect the rate that Foreign Exchange Traders are trading at, at this time and are for large denominations, as you know currency trades like stocks on an open market and are constantly changing. Included in the conversion are currency conversion costs, currency risk cost, and cross border fees charged by financial institutions – this could be from a bank such as yours or an e-commerce enabler such as Bongo International.

Nevertheless, the figures you provided are not so far off to assume that the we are charging more than your bank erroneously; currency movement over a weeks time can give you the same results and when comparing conversions, you need to ensure you are comparing similar dates and time and risks. The higher the risk of the transaction the more the consumer will pay, so remember to compare apples to apples.

As far the shipping cost details you provided, if that figure is based off the inbound dimensional weight, then I would agree that the cost is erred and there may be an issue with the measurement of the boxes. We can easily correct that for you if we had data to review. Please remember shipping fees are based on the size of the boxes received at our warehouse.

Scammers

Hi
I have used bongo in the past with relative ease, how ever this time trying to have 4 packages sent to the company "consolidated to save me money" ( there advertised words! ) and then forwarded onto me in Australia cost wise is a joke!
Goods cost 200$ US - shipping estimate $255 ha
These goods were 5 tshirts, 1 sweatshirt, 4 hats and a pair of sneakers so you can imagine my surprise when the bill came to 255$
The total weight of the actual goods 7.95
The weight they were charging me for 27.04 ???????
Four times the actual weight- so they are quadrupling there money... 400% mark up not bad hey!
When I spoke with a representative why I was being charged for the billable weight of 4 packages they received and not the ONE package that they were going to "CONSOLIDATE to save me money" and she send to me, I was told this is just what they do - wtf?
So I send them 4 packages, packages I have already payed postage for, they consolidated the packages into 1 , send the 1 package to me and recharge me for the postage of the original 4 packages!!!!
THIS IS A SCAM TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!
You are better of just sending directly to your address from the vendor...
Ask yourself why pay for postage twice plus the taxes and fuel tax - what fuel?? There a mail centre, they are hardly couriering your goods around the country
Rip off merchants
Beware
I won't be using this company again.

We take your feedback very serious and we send this communication to our customer service manager for review. He assures us that the rate you paid for the shipment is accurate. Shipping Fees are based on the size of the boxes received at our warehouse, this is called the inbound billable weight – based off dimension.

Keep in mind when shipping international air dimensional weight is the most important figure to take into consideration: "how much space is the parcel going to take up on the airplane." Your cost was based off of dimensional weight, not actual weight. So your figure of 7.95 pounds is not accurate when looking at the type of shipping we offer.

Looking at your order, you had eleven items in total shipped from the United States to Australia:

Hat – 2.3 billable weight
Hat – 2.3 billable weight
White Pants – 1.42 billable weight
Shirt – 0.7 billable weight
Shoes – 3.6 billable weight
Poster – 0.67 billable weight
Shirt – 2.49 billable weight
Shirt – 0.3 billable weight
Shirt – 0.45 billable weight
Hat – 0.53 billable weight
Hat – 0.53 billable weight

Dimensional (Height of box X Width of box X Depth of box) your package took up 28 “dimensional pounds” of space on the airplane. Hence the cost. All of this was explained in the terms and agreements of signing up with Bongo International.

We researched the rates and they are still discounted from normal rates offered by our carrier to consumers; the shipping cost on your order was 195.10 USD, this is a fair rate for 11 items being shipped between the destination points.

We understand this may not have been clear prior to signing up for your account. As such, our manager has refunded you partial shipping costs and he has closed your account per your request.

They scammed my 1000$

I used entropay.com to buy two xbox one a boot and some other small stuff ! They all delivrd to my mailbox then bongous mailed me that my account has been banned ! I told them i will provide all valid proof that nothing is done against rule. I sent a mail to microsoft from where i bought my xbox one i told them that i want a refund to my virtual card microsoft was ready for it they gave me a shipping slip of usps and asked them to paste in on the parcels and drop it to nearest usps office . Then i sent a mail to bongous regarding this they told me that i need to ask microsoft to contact them . And they gave me a number ! I asked microsoft to do that they told me they cant call anyone for these things and microsoft told me to ask bongous to call them . Then i told about that to bongous and i got no reply they are really scammers :'( i lost huge amount of money . Why cant bongous contact microsoft and ask if orders are fraudlent why such a big company will contact bongous -_- trust me dont use them use comgateway . Total worth of products they have 1150$ and i paid 4.5% of 1150$ to entropay as there charge ! I am not that rich to loose this money someone help me !

Unfortunately, after review it was found that your account was frozen for the following reason: the IP address associated with your account and your email address has been flagged in our system for international credit-card fraud.

We take great lengths to prevent fraudulent activity and the flags are to protect all international consumers.

The reason our customer service team asked you to contact the merchant, was due to recovery of product potentially purchased fraudulently. Of course if there was a mistake and the transaction was not fraudulent, then the merchant will of course offer you a full refund.

One Time, No more !

Hi,
this his my experience with Bongo International.

I bought one Pin from US and pay 15 $ with shipping cost and send to UK Bongo address.

Today the package arrive to Bongo and realize that i need to pay 38$, without insurance and with 5% bonus to ship to Portugal.

Is more expensive that airplane ticket from Portugal to England.
It's only a Pin !!!!!

Then i cant contact them, because they don't have a contact Form !

I will pay and they will make a profit with that Pin, but will lost a client and every person i will meet in my life.

Sorry for my poor English.

PS: My 5% bonus arrive by email. I don't have facebook account.

Thank you for contacting us, we sent this to our customer service manager for review and we are sorry you feel the cost to ship this item was too high.

The shipping rate was accurate and was estimated to be 30-40% less than normal international air rates with our preferred carrier. Bongo International, uses FedEx International Air - this item a collectors pin, which had a box and protective packaging around it. The shipping rate was not for the dimensions of the pin it'self but also for the collectors box and protective packaging.

The item took three days to be shipped from the East Coast of the United States to Portugal. $38.00 is a good price for the shipping time and size of the box.

In regards to the "5% bonus" you are speaking of, this was not a bonus paid to us. It was a credit we gave to you for liking us on Facebook. This was taken off your shipping costs.

Nevertheless, we take all customer feedback seriously and we will use this valued feedback to look at pricing in the future.
