What an amazing company!
I have been so impressed with Better Kitchens throughout the initial planning process right through to delivery. Kitchen has now been fitted and is looking absolutely amazing! On my next renovation project I will definitely be using better kitchens again!
Cons outweigh the Pros.
Pros.
Great range of kitchens and accessories. I found they had a lot to offer compared to other companies.
Great prices. Their prices are really good, if you manage to get your kitchen during a sale your kitchen could be a real bargain.
Assembly. You can choose to have them come pre assembled at no extra cost. Saves so much time and money especially if your paying for a fitter to install them.
Response. They have limited 'Contact Us' Methods. ( See below). We logged a support ticket in the end. They responded quickly and were able to help.
Cons.
NO RETURNS except for kitchen worktops and then face a re stock fee of 30% and a £48 collection charge. Could be costly if your trying to save money and do this as a DIY project. You'd struggle to find companies that don't do refunds these days. We lost £133. They say this is down to everything being made to order. I do wonder how this effects your consumer rights.
Damaged items. We had a lot of damaged items. We managed to work round a few bits due to cuts or being able to hide certain parts. We needed to replace two door fronts. It's taken a month to get replacements and both were damaged again. We had family that ordered some units and they too had problems with damaged and missing items.
Time. In order to save money it takes some time to receive your kitchen. On top of that if there are damages you could be waiting a lot longer.
I mention this because people may be waiting for their kitchen to arrive before booking in a kitchen fitter to come and install it. (Better Kitchens recommend this). Kitchen fitters and carpenters are incredibly busy at the moment so you could be waiting months for someone to fit your kitchen. So on top of waiting two months to receive your kitchen you could face another couple of weeks or months before it is fitted. If items come damaged your looking at another month on top.
Contact us. The mail box of the person you are trying to call could not be found. This was always what we got when calling the number. When ever we clicked on the Live Chat, nothing happened. So support ticket it is.
Overall. It's a gamble. Everything could work out smoothly. You could measure out your kitchen perfectly and pick your dream kitchen. You pick the exact units and accessories you need. The price is great. Your happy to wait for your kitchen to be delivered. There is nothing missing and no damages. The kitchen fits like a glove and you don't need to swap or return anything.
If it goes the other way however, it could be a lot of wasted money, time and may test your patience.
We ordered our kitchen on the 19/11/2020 and we are still waiting for replacements of damaged items. So this is an ongoing review.
Would we use Better Kitchens again. Probably not. I would rather spend more money to save more money and time in the future.
excellent product at great prices
Just ordered my third kitchen from Better kitchens, as an experienced kitchen fitter i can honestley say the quality is far superior to many leading kitchen companies and far cheaper too, i have only ever ordered flat packed units as they couldn't supply rigid built to my location which does add on half a days labour on the other hand it makes it far easier to modify carcasses when required, i've had a couple of issues with missing componants but this was dealt with promptly, the only issue i have is the delivery charge which at £299 is excessive, there is always the option of using your own courier as normally its only one or two pallets, the downside would be apportioning blame for any damaged items.
I will certainly be using this company again for future installations.

Cannot fault! The whole experience from the ease of use of the website & wide choice available, to the speed of manufacture and helpful, on-time delivery drivers. The kitchen arrived perfect, no damage, all parts and units were present which was not expected since the delivery note was 3 pages long! Customer service were helpful and very accommodating to your needs. Will certainly be using this company for my next house and kitchen project! Highly recommend.
Genuinely impressed, couldn't find a fault.
I was a bit optimistic ordering from these, plus, I didn't order any samples so basically bought blind, the bad reviews always stand out amongst the many good reviews which can be off-putting but I can honestly say don't let them, I have had a really good experience with them, everything came as expected, I was pleasently surprised when I seen it in person, the quality is really really good, packaged well, on time (even during the pandemic), everything from ordering on the website to the delivery driver has been spot on, I genuinely couldn't fault a thing, worth every single penny!

Ordered my kitchen in August 2020 and received as expected, a couple of units arrived a bit later but communication has been very good.
Today I contacted them for a soft close gas hinge that is not working anymore and they promptly send me a new one.
So customer care is good!
Kitchen quality is nice and I really have saved thousands thanks to them. Cabinets are very sturdy and well done and they look great.

The units are fantastic my kitchen fitter was so impressed with them. They are better than I imagined they would be. The delivery was excellent they were packaged very well and the delivery men handled all items very carefully best delivery people I have ever had! I am so impressed with quality they are so good - my kitchen looks super and I would gladly recommend them. My entire experience with Better Kitchens from ordering to receiving the end product was excellent they were helpful and efficient. Thank you
Good quality
Very impressed when units arrived, they are really sturdy and look great. Price was good and would definitely recommend. Smallish gripe, but worth a mention because it would have been so easy to avoid. L shape corner units only available as flat pack, which is fair enough as they are really cumbersome. But it would be helpful if they came with instructions and, more importantly, fully pre drilled doors. Drilling the holes in a factory with equipment and jigs takes seconds, doing it at home with hand tools is harder. However, sorted now and looking good - all in all this was a very good deal for these units.

The 18mm back panels are great and my joiner friend said he had never seen that before.
Comes pre-built too!
We have been able to get the kitchen we wanted, with matching carcases which look so much better than nasty standard white ones.
Soft close hinges work well and the doors can be removed with a button on the hinge which is extra practical.
Doesn't come with all the required screws, but I picked up 200 15mm screws from Toolstation for £3.
We did not opt for worktops from Better Kitchens, so I cannot comment on them.
After sales could be improved, but still well worth choosing this company.
Overall we are very satisfied and would highly recommend with company to anyone.
Lastly, make sure you order everything that you need! I changed my layout after the order had been received and although I just needed 1 extra 300mm wall unit, the delivery cost is still £50. My fault, but something worth knowing.

They were recommended to me by a friend and now I have no hesitation in passing that recommendation on. I was kept fully informed throughout the order and delivery process, the delivery guy went the extra mile and my kitchen fitter said it is one of the best quality kitchens he has fitted.

Brought out kitchen from better kitchens, After getting quotes from other suppliers, The quality of the cabinets are outstanding including solid backs. When choosing the cabinets we opted for assembled which is best option will save yourself or your fitter so much time. When ever I’ve had to speak to any member of the Better Kitchen team they have always been helpful and nothing seemed like trouble. We’re both very happy now the kitchen is fitted.
I would recommend Better kitchens you won’t believe how much you will save and not lose out on quality.

Took a risk ordering off an online company during the height of the lockdown.Comparing the style and variety to the well known showrooms.Very pleased supplied what i wanted at a good price when they promised.The quality was good even my friends helping to fit were impressed & considering them for there next purchase.Yes there was a blemished door when unpackaging,So i took a photo and contacted them - A replacement was sent promptly. The only improvement i could suggest is there website is a bit slow and there interactive tracking of your order & questions nice feature but wasnt updated or answered,But a phone call was always answered politely.(It was during the height of 2020 lockdown though so staffing may have been an issue) Overall would i reccomend - Yes definately ,Very good experience Thankyou Better Kitchens
This company is fine unless there is an issue
We ordered units for a utility room and booked a date for delivery. Immediately after purchase, the date was pushed back 2 weeks. I checked on the website and it was still showing delivery for our original date. So be careful of delays if you want it for a specific date as it looks as though you're made to think it will be delivered sooner.
The delivery happened, all present and correct. But I didn't open the boxes- I could see some of the cupboards and all looked fine.
When it came to fitting, there weren't enough legs. So the fitter called and they were very accusatory, insinuating that we were just trying to get extra legs out of them for free.
We ordered a 2+1 pan drawer unit as per the website, cream carcase and front and it advertised very light grey inners. However they are graphite grey. We queried this and this is the only colour they do. I then queried why they are advertising something that they do not sell, but they just kept saying it's the only colour available. They would ot answer the question. I would have gobne to Wickes had I known this as they do still sell light grey and we wanted it to match our kitchen. I was on an online chat trying to sort it out and in the end they just stopped responding.
I guess this company is fine unless there is an issue. then they are not interested and customer service is severely lacking. Very disappointed really.

Poor quality
Purchased a wall cabinet and end shelving unit.
When I ordered at end of November 2020, the site said "order now and receive before Christmas". The items didn't arrive til February.
The units were easy to assemble, but the quality is poor. The samples suggest the colour is one continuous layer; however, they use coloured veneers, glued to chipboard and the veneers do not meet, so you have a 0.5mm line of exposed chipboard on all edges.
When I sent a message through their online help system, they sent a replacement, which arrived in a couple of weeks. It came pre-assembled (pre-used?), and was slightly better, but the lines were still visible, and the centre divider's front-facing veneer was cracked at both ends where it is screwed in.
The side unit has no designed way to attach it to the wall unit, so you have to do that yourself, without damaging the thin veneer.
You get what you pay for, I guess.

Look like quality but it is poor materials and workmanship.
I bought this kitchen in August and I waited a few months before reviewing (I rarely do).
The customer service whilst polite, is poor. They forgot to deliver a side cover for one of the drawer. It was supposed to be fitted and it wasn't. I had to wait 10 days for it to arrive. They also forgot to send a couple of hinges which we waited for as well. I called twice to have those send. After a week I called again as it had not arrived. I was told the previous person forgot to send them ... hence the 10 days wait.
I did not pay much attention at the time but it is not very good.
BUT the more annoying thing is the quality of the kitchen itself. Better kitchen they are not.
The central island I bought look very good but the fact that they put doors on both sides make very wobbly and there is not easy way to fix this. It makes it fairly dangerous with a granite top on it. I am still trying to find a solution to put some internal support to keep it square and stable.
The doors again look very good (nice thick doors) but they are very fragile, hence after 3 months we have already 3 chips on them. So it will age very badly .... I now look at these every time I go to the kitchen.
The internal shelves are very shallow and do not reach close to the door, therefore you lose some space. I therefore made them bigger by cutting a 2cm strip and sticking it at the back of each shelf.
The quality if the carcasses is poor and some cutting (especially in the corner units ) is chipped in various places which make them look very amateurish.
Overall, the best thing is the price. It is cheap ... sadly, it feels cheap as well. If I had to buy another kitchen I would wait until I can afford something of a better quality.
I did buy the same style 3 or 4 years ago from Selco, it is still in as good a condition as when I fitted them. One of the reasons why I bought from them was they had a very good range than the other suppliers within my budget (for instance getting an under sink cupboard for a Belfast sink was not easy). And the second reason I bought from them is I thought it would be of a better quality than what I bought before from Selco.
It definitely is not.
Not recommended overall.
PS: this is not a stroppy review ... I just want you guys to be aware of the points above. It is a shame I cannot put some pictures.

I purchased some units for a utility room in August 2019 and due to COVID-19 these were fitted during November 2019. I noticed a mark on the ‘dummy’ drawer unit a couple of days ago, and I touched this and the high gloss finish crumbled away, and I then noticed that two other corners were the same. I contacted Better Kitchens online including a photograph of the damage and received a response stating that I should have reported damages within 48 hours of delivery.
I rang Better Kitchens today to inform them this was not a damaged item but a faulty item, as having had a previous high gloss kitchen for over 17 years I had never experienced this issue before. I was then told that having spoken to someone else, the photograph clearly shows that the item had been damaged. I asked what could possibly have sustained this type of damage in three areas and was told “well I don’t know I wasn’t there when it was damaged”.
Absolutely appalling customer service, I am at a loss as to why I would send a photograph of an item that they seem to think I had wilfully damaged and request a replacement. I would just remind people that if you order from this company, do check your items when they are received and, unfortunately if you do receive a faulty item, fully expect them to wriggle out of their clearly poor workmanship. Disappointed is an understatement. Whilst I am here, to be honest the unit was rubbish, I purchased a Belfast unit for a Belfast sink and the unit was so low my installer had to build up the bottom to enable the sink to be used at a reasonable height - I never complained about this but so wish I had now. Be very careful when you use this company.
March 2020 I was eventually contacted by the company and I received, free of charge, a replacement part. It was extremely kind of Better Kitchens and very much appreciated but unfortunately the bad customer service I experienced would make me wary of using this company ever again and I would not recommend as I would hate for a friend to have to go through the same stress. Definitely a thumbs up for resolving the issue but the time that this took would not make me use them again. Tbh they refuse to accept that there was an issue with the part and keep saying that I should have reported it when I received the part.....it was fine when it was received, clearly there was a fault with the product.

Excellent Quality And Good Value For Money
Very pleased with the quality of our kitchen carcasses and doors. Great help with the design of the kitchen too. Our delivery was during the first lockdown and there were a few hick ups with timings unsurprisingly and a couple of items missing. However, these were sorted out and we are still pleased that we chose this company as the quality was far better than others we had looked at but at a much better price. We did visit the showroom before lockdown which helped in the decision to go with this company. My husband installed the kitchen and it has been reasonably straightforward. We are very pleased with the kitchen and Better Kitchens have always responded to queries even if a little slow on occasion but I blame that totally on the pandemic and the issues that caused. Staff were always courteous and helpful.

As someone who has fitted many kitchens,most of which were supplied by well known DIY stores, I was blown away with the quality of the units, doors, and drawer runners supplied by Better Kitchens. Not only is the quality of these units far superior to those being sold by DIY stores, but they cost far less as well.
When I first found this company online, I was a little hesitant about placing the order with them, as I live in Scotland and they are based in England. I was concerned about what would happen should items arrive without hinges, shelves etc. However, I was amazed to get to the end of the job with not as much as a missing screw and to find everything I ordered was 100% as expected.
This is a company I will use again and I will have no hesitation recommending them to others.

Kitchens made simple!
After looking round some well known kitchen companies we thought we would look online as well. From the initial email through to delivery the Better Kitchens team were very helpful and quick to respond. Any issues / questions we had were dealt with swiftly and resolved even during the situation with COVID. The kitchen themselves are really good and solid, they come with all doors / draws on so a huge time saving. Definitely recommend and will be using them again in the new year to do the utility!
