I used Batley DIY because they were local and a good deal cheaper than Wickes for the particular item I was after. I placed the order on the Friday, but was keen to get on, so rang on the Monday. My items were 'due' that afternoon but I should wait for confirmation. By the Wednesday I still had not heard anything, so I checked the reviews and was horrified. Thinking I had made a mistake and as it was on my way home from work I called in to find out what was happening.

On arrival, I realised that this is quite a small business, with not a great deal of storage space, so they function very much on a hand to mouth basis, especially for larger items. I had a quick chat with the friendly Yorkshireman at BDIY, and fortunately he had just been to collect them.

So job done! Constructive feedback, perhaps make it clearer that stock is not held for larger products.

ordered a BBQ online with Batley DIY which after 14 had not arrived. I contacted Batley DIY, who advised the item was not in stock and could not advise when I would receive it - important to note this was not disclosed on the website when I ordered. At this stage I asked to cancel my order, and they agreed. another two weeks passed and I had not recieved my refund, I contacted them again and they simply advised it had not yet been processed. A number of ignored emails later, I was forced to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge, and thankfully I got my money back via this avenue.

after initially being happy with them, it went quickly downhill. I ordered some flooring adhesive and after a week it hadn't arrived so I contacted them via email. they responded really quickly and after a bit of back and forth I decided to cancel the order as it wouldn't arrive in time. All processed nicely, until another week later I received a dispatch notice from a courier stating my delivery would be due shortly. I contacted batley again and the rep suggested I refuse delivery when it arrived. On a side note why is it up to me to cancel their mistake? Anyway I kept checking parcel tracking no updates showing and then I went away about, 450 miles away. while I was away surprise there was an update and delivery made (left outside my house) but despite being 450 miles away, they obtained my signature as acceptance of delivery. Contacted batley again and they said they would look into, not sure what that means as they have gone silent and not contacted me for two weeks and counting.
Use them at your own risk as I doubt you will get any satisfaction.

I ordered plastic food containers from them. When they arrived one of the lids was broken so I took photos of it and sent them with an email to Batleydiy. Since then they have ignored my emails and the last response they asked for photos of the original packaging which I had thrown away when I unpacked them 3 weeks ago. They do everything to avoid replacing a damaged item.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I would give zero stars if I could. What was once a trusted local business is now just a name used as a front for online fraud.
I placed an order for garden edging on 12th May and have never received it. When staff answer the phone (& this is rare), they brazenly lie that the order will be dispatched the next day. Emails are either ignored, or responded to immediately regardless of the hour of the day by an AI bot aka 'Hannah' from customer support. A refund was promised but unsurprisingly failed to materialise.
Our money was finally recovered over two months later after raising a chargeback dispute with our payment card company. Reports have been filed with Action Fraud and Trading Standards.

This place is a scam. Supposed to have stock of an item. Which I ordered inc paying for express shipping. Still not shipped after a week. Chased up the order. Which got a response in seconds. So likely AI response. After a few days still no shipping details. Asked for a refund. After that point no replies to any messages. Calling phone number just goes to a full voicemail. Having to go to card company for a refund. Reporting to police for fraud. As looking back at other reviews. This is a common practise. If paid via debit card getting a refund would be so much harder if not impossible.

Terrible customer services, ordered a £600 pool which was advertised with a sand filter which was the main reason for my purchase. I called to check as the website images showed a cheap cartridge pump but i was assured on multiple occasions, it would come with the sand filter. It arrived and the pool came with the cheap and totally inappropriate cartridge filter and I have spent 2 weeks trying to get a collection and refund arranged. They not reply to messages or pick up the phone so Paypal are now going through an investigation to get me a refund. Avoid at all costs,

We ordered an expensive item on line for us to collect ourselves. Received the order confirmation but no email saying when to collect. Rang and was told it was delayed when it had said in stock! Challenged this to be told it was 'in stock with their suppliers' ! They agreed to fund delivery and we agreed as they said it would be with us by the end of the week. Didn't arrive no confirmation of it being out for delivery from fed ex !! Challenged again to be told there was a further delay. Advised I wanted a refund as they had breached the contract between us. Informed trading standards and waited now over a week for full amount to be refunded... Still not arrived. We placed our original order on 13.7.25.... for collection the next day.... What a scam....when it says in stock it isn't. Please do not use this company for big items or any for that matter as your not likely to get them!!! We will continue with our challenge through trading standards but we have also contacted BBC watchdog and local Morley news ....people should not be able to get away with deliberate misrepresentation. There are lots of other reviewers who have had the same problem wish we had read them before purchase DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. The only ok thing about them was Leah though I don't know how she puts up with having to front for such a shocking manager/owner !!!

Excellent price which was way cheaper than any online price. The chap helped carry the 20kg bags of chicken pellets to my car.

Communication needs to improve - do it personally
The order says 24 hours to collect and I heard nothing from the order being placed on Monday until Friday evening when it was ready to collect. Change your order screen to a more realistic time of pick up or delivery.
Summary
4 stars given as I got the product I wanted at a fantastic price but there's room for improvement.

Metal watering can turned up not sufficiently protected for delivery just a single wrap of bubble wrap. Ended up dented and had a hole in it. Reached out via email for a replacement or refund and all started well but then all communications stopped. So my final email said enjoy my money and hope you choke on it !!!!

Shocking service, false promises, no communications and no delivery - avoid at all costs

I ordered one Easy Clean Basin Waste - Chrome on 14/07/25. I had an immediate confirmation of my order but no expected delivery date. I queried this today (22/07/25) via email and got an instant response (Hannah) that it was being prepared for despatch. I pushed for more info and was told the item was in stock, but they could not provide a shipping date. I then came here and saw all the 1-star reviews! I have gone back to cancel and was immediately told I would receive a refund. I suspect an AI system is in play here due to the very quick/efficient responses. I purchased through PayPal so if I don't get my refund swiftly, I will pursue it through them.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - see all recent reviews. Paid for a hot tub, was lied to over and over again regarding a delivery date. I never received it. They had my money for 4 weeks, I have now received my money back after raising a dispute with my bank. I wasted hours, days and weeks of my time constantly chasing them. If you are still waiting for your refund I suggest getting advice from CAB and also quote under the consumer Act 2015, and raise a dispute with your bank. I don't know how the owner sleeps at night!

I ordered a well priced product and arranged to collect it the following day. I didn't ever receive an email to confirm the item was ready to collect. I contacted the company by email who said the item was being processed and I would be informed when it would be ready. That email never arrived and I waited 7 days. When I called the company phone number nobody replied.
Thankfully I had made the purchase by credit card so the sale was cancelled and my money refunded by the card company. I worry for anyone who buys with a debit card as I fear they will never get a refund or the product they are promised.

Haven't delivered the item that I ordered and are yet to refund me. Nightmare to try and communicate with a total scam company avoid at all cost

I ordered a garden trug on 4th July and promptly received confirmation of order. I patiently awaited delivery of item but no sign of it or email to say it has been dispatched. I therefore emailed seller to ask if item has been dispatched and I received an email to day to say it had not been dispatched and that I will receive an email once dispatched. No indication of when that might be. I have now sent an email to try and determine if item is in stock and if so what they consider a reasonable dispatch time. I have also requested them to cancel order if not in stock as I can easily reorder with a supplier who can send next day.

So 28 june ordered a hot tub delivery 2-7 days. No communication 9 days had passed still not hot tub, rang up George promised it would be here on Tuesday, guess what it's not, so ring up they say they are getting more in Thursday! I'm like it was supposed to be here Tuesday! Er definitely Thursday she says. No cancel my order full refund please, with 3 more days of emails sent saying please confirm refund has started, I email them today and they say they have no details of a refund progress being started! I'm like i spoke to you and then sent them 3 days worth of emails and also on messenger. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with now trying to get my refund. I will be in touch with the bank and trading standards. Never use this company!

I purchased Lay-Z-Spa Toronto AirJet Plus on June 25, 2025 for the price of £699.99. Delivery in: 2-7 days. I have not received the delivery yet. I have contacted many times by phone and email. I was promised that the delivery would be within two days of the call. Unfortunately, the situation repeated. So I requested a refund. So I received this information from the company (email): I'm arranging to send you a confirmation email once your refund has been processed. I'll keep you updated shortly.

Since your order #00000 was canceled before delivery, your refund should be credited to your original payment method within 10 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is completed.

How can you wait for a return confirmation? This is ridiculous. I still haven't received a return confirmation. I'll give them until tomorrow. Otherwise I'll report this to the police.
