I placed an order for two items on…poor communication.
I placed an order for two items on August 15th for $144 it did say they would ship in September. I received one confirmation email in August then nothing. I wrote twice in September to confirm when shipment would be. No response. I opened a case in PayPal and suddenly they’re able to respond to my emails to say the item will ship late September or early October. And they’re stating it like October was even a consideration when I purchased. It never said anything about October on their website. Meanwhile they’re holding my money and aren’t offering a cancellation. I would not order from this company. Poor communication.
Dishonest Business Practices
I hate leaving this as Alex and Ani were one of my favorite retailers but the quality and customer service aren't there anymore and they are purposefully deceiving customers.
I preordered a necklace on August 13th, the website stated the item was sold out but would be restocked and shipped in early September. When September rolled around I checked the website for an update, my order status hadn't changed and there was no expected ship date. I checked the item listing again to see if it was still sold out, the ship date listed was changed to 'shipping early October'. I immediately emailed them and asked for an update regarding shipping date as I am moving in October and don't want to risk this being delivered to the wrong address. I received an automatic response stating I would receive a reply within 24-48 hours. I didn't receive a response in that time frame so I reached out again, again no reply so I reached out a 3rd time, nothing. I've requested confirmation that this item will shipped in the time frame they stated and if it wouldn't be I wanted to cancel my preorder due to me moving in October.
Apart from the horrendous customer service you cannot trust the reviews on their website. I tried to leave a review on the necklace I purchased pointing out the change in expected ship date and that I wasn't notified about this and haven't been responded to so that others can be warned. Seconds after I selected the 1 Star and began typing the website refreshed and I no longer had the option to read or leave reviews. I signed out and back in and still no reviews were visible and I couldn't leave one either. I used a VPN to change my IP address, went back to the website and suddenly the reviews and ability to leave a review had returned. I again tried to leave a review, this time I typed everything in Word so that I could paste and quickly leave the review, it allowed me to hit submit but so far I see no review, I'm assuming it's been removed.
They have also removed the ability to leave reviews on their Google page, you can only see older reviews which do show a decline in customer satisfaction, but sadly they have retained their Top Quality Store badge which is incredibly misleading.
I've filed a complaint with the Rhode Island Better Business Bureau and have started the chargeback process with my bank, I don't believe the item is ever going to ship and I absolutely refuse to accept store credit from them when they eventually cancel the order. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! I know they've gone through some financial issues and closed the physical stores, I think that's hit the online business as well, I'm not sure they even have a customer service department anymore.
Ordered and got nothing
Ordered over 3 weeks ago and I have not received my order. When I tried looking for customer service , there is no working number or email. I have to dispute the charge with my bank and even that is a pain in my ass to do.
I want a refund!
I placed an order on August 7th for 3 bracelets totaling 138.00 and some change. It has been 3 weeks and I haven't received any information or communication regarding my order. I want a refund for my purchase.
Can't get a response from anyone
I placed an order, it was marked as delivered, but it went to the wrong address and the photo attached with the delivered status is NOT my home. I tried contacting Alex and Ani customer service via email as they don't have a phone number or an online chat. I have not received a response. I used to order in the past and it was getting progressively worse.
Returns for Canadians are a nightmare
Ordered 2 bracelets in error, meant to order 2 charms. After 4 emails to customer service I'm told I need to figure out how to ship it back at my cost and I pay duties. I understand the shipping fees however they need to be clear that as Canadians we can purchase easily but are on our own for returns. With no authorization or forms from them how do I track my refund? I can track my shipment but with no direct contact number or email how will I be able to follow up on my refund? Not professional at all, no phone number provided and most emails are not answered. Don't bother placing an order because of there are any issues you're expected to just ship the return back, cross your fingers, and hope someone gives you a refund
Thin wires. Extremely delicate
Thin wire on the peeps bunny bangle and the yellow chick bangle. The wire is extremely thin- more than you’d expect. So I fully expect it to get bent up and ruined the tenth time I put it on. Peeps earrings are quality! And the three bunny peep bangle that’s gold is great.
Company refusing to cancel a mistake order, even after ordering more items!
While I was on their site browsing to orders some Christmas gifts, I accidentally hit the order button on one of the bracelets. However, I was not done shopping yet and was planning to purchase more. They have no phone number and the phone number that is listed is disconnected and doesn't work. I emailed customer service literally saying to please cancel the order because there's literally no way to cancel it on their website. I said that the button was hit by accident And that I was actually planning on purchasing more.. I got an email back 2 Days later saying that they weren't taking cancellations. However, they could mail me a prepaid sticker for a return. Never got the prepaid sticker and then I got a nice little email from them saying that the item was a clearance item and was final sale. First of all, I literally wrote in the email that I wasn't finished shopping so I was actually trying to give them more money by buying more things but they couldn't even cancel my mistake. I literally bought other things that same night so it doesn't make any sense that they couldn't just cancel that first thing that was ordered like 10 minutes before the other things were ordered. Not very happy as the purchase was 72 freaking dollars. This is not right. Literally purchase something by accident and now I'm out 72 bucks. Unbelievable. Never buying from them ever again.

Garbage Company
DI NO IRDER FRON THI COMPANY!!! Absolutely no customer service, never received the order I payed for, and was unable to get any customer service. They are a fraud, and crooks. Not part of BBB, and it shows.
Jewelry was junk/ didn’t get a refund after I returned it
Jewelry was junk. I returned it, never received a refund. Everytime I submit a help request I get the same return instructions (I followed them the first time) as a response. Their customer service is some sort of robot/ AI and I cannot get a human response.
Awful product and customer service - dishonest
Awful. All the way around. I ordered 2 rings and when they showed up they looked like they came from a gumball machine for kids. A $72 gumball machine. The return process is almost non existent. I had to scour the site in order to find an email address to write to about returning. I did this FOUR times. Finally after 3.5 weeks I disputed the charge with my bank because the company said they were returnable but never responded. Only after the dispute did I hear back from Alex and Ani. They asked me to return the items, which I did. But the charges were never reversed. Pitiful excuse for a company that used to make some cute things. No wonder their stores went out of business. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Not happy at all with Alex and Ani. I ordered a bracelet online for a gift and nowhere did it describe if it came with a box. I had to email them to find out. Turns out non of the items come in a box, you have to purchase it for $3.00. Since it was for a gift, I purchased a box. It only seemed right to give a gift that has a brand name in it’s own box. I received the bracelet, the quality and the design was not as expected so I returned the entire order. They do not refund you for the box. What am I suppose to do with an empty box that has the name Alex and Ani on it? The $3.00 may not be much, but it’s the principal. The way they run the business, it’s no wonder their physical stores have closed. After this experience, who wants to order from them again. Good luck with your online shopping platform.
Tarnished And Smelly
A year ago, I placed a large order to sell in my Ebay store. I have had them in storage, in their boxes, tags affixed. I just went through them all yesterday and THEY ARE ALL TARNISHED and SMELL BAD. I have wasted 100+dollars on this substandard expensive crap. I'm a day late on the warranty and they won't do anything for me. I will never shop this brand again.

I had a terrible experience with ALEX AND ANI. I mistakenly purchased the wrong bracelet and attempted to contact the company less than an hour after my purchase to cancel the order. Unfortunately, the only option available was to reach out via email. Despite my prompt contact, I was told that I couldn't cancel my order and would have to wait to receive the merchandise before I could initiate a return.
Upon receiving the items, I followed their return instructions meticulously. However, I was only refunded for one of the three items I had purchased. This level of customer service is unacceptable. I do not recommend anyone purchase anything from ALEX AND ANI.
Horrible business practice!
Their customer service and business practice is terrible!! I placed an order, about an hour in after placing the order I decided to cancel. I sent them an email and was responded to right away that the order cannot be canceled I would need to return it once I receive it. I responded that the order was just placed and has not even processed or shipped yet. I also let them know I don’t have a printer to print the return label. I cannot be running around to return things as I am currently disabled due to major heart surgery. Nope didn’t make a difference they simply don’t care. Still emailed me the label and the merchandise was shipped 4 days later. So they could’ve cancelled the order with no problem. It’s no wonder they went out of business!!!! I will never order another thing from Alex & Ani!!!!! Horrible business!!!
Unable to talk to anyone
I purchased 5 different bracelets back in February. One of the bracelets broke after wearing it only a few times. I immediately went to the website and followed all the steps. Took very clear pictures and filled out the form sending it to the website. Received an email back saying someone would be in touch and I never heard a thing. I’ve called 3 separate times and only hear a message saying to email the company and it disconnects. I’m not even able to leave a message. In total, I have emailed 3 times only hearing back the first time.
