Give it a try

I joined during the pandemic in 2021 and, like many women, have had trouble sticking to programmes. But WAFA has found the formula - great coaching, realistic aims, personal support and plenty of choice of online, in-person and recorded classes and a supportive group of women. There is also alot of other support available via the club website - nutrition, coaching, and social events.

I ♥️ WAFA

Joining WAFA 2.5 years ago has been one of the best things I’ve done. I’m 66 and I’ve never been a fan of exercise classes, so the online format is perfect for me. I can join in from my kitchen - no excuses! There is always lots of encouragement and support from all the trainers and from other members. Thank you Anna !

WAFA Rocks

WAFA Rocks! I joined WAFA just over a year ago having approached gyms local to me which had the wrong attitude! Neither seemed to want to help a woman in her 60’s! From my initial phone call I was made to feel welcome, given encouragement and knew that this was the right place to be. I love everything about it. The coaches are super supportive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and obviously keen to help members progress. I enjoy early morning classes on line as they set me up for the day. I feel stronger both physically and mentally. Following injuries, I was given exercises by my coach adapted to fit in with those recommended by my physio. There’s also been food for thought, quite literally, with nutrition sessions and the mindset sessions have made me reconsider so many things. The community is inclusive and empowering which is so important. Anna and her team are special women and I now cannot imagine being part of this ‘family’.

More comfortable in my own body than ever before

I'm someone who really struggles with consistency and I've never managed to stick to an exercise plan in my life. At 52 I was starting to feel a downhill slide set in. Then I saw WAFA mentioned in a Guardian article and checked it out. Then I was speaking to Anna, the founder, and signing myself up to a 6 week trial. A year later and I do 3 classes each week at 6.15am, and I'm so much fitter and healthier than I was before. I wasn't particularly looking to lose weight and I'm not sure that I have, but I'm definitely more defined and just so much more comfortable within my own body. I also think that the exercises are really well chosen to build the core stability, flexibility and muscles that I need at this stage in my life. It's not cheap, but the personal attention and interactions that I get are what keep me motivated. As I said to my husband: in my 50s I'm not sure if there is anything more worth investing in than my present and future health.
Also it's actually quite fun, which is a very odd thing for me to say about exercise (although I do sometimes curse the team under my breath while navigating a move that I find particularly challenging).

A decision that transformed my life

I joined WAFA over a year ago at aged 74, it was one of the best decisions I ever made, it has changed my life. For a year now I have committed to three Strength and Sweat on line classes a week and have rarely missed a class The one on one support I have received from the wonderful staff has been amazing, I am treated as an individual but part of the fabulous WAFA community of women. As I join each session on line I am personally greeted by the coach, as is everyone, and encouragement is given throughout the class. After a year I can honestly say that I am stronger and more resilient than I have ever been, I feel confident, walk taller and straighter and feel much younger than my years. I urge you to make that decision and join this amazing group of women, you will never regret it. Thanks to Anna and WAFA for honestly changing my life.

I joined WAFA about 2 years ago

I joined WAFA about 2 years ago, and it has been one of the best things I've done! It brings an excellent structure to my week, and it is a fixed point that I try really hard never to miss. I'm lucky to live close to the hall so attend in-person classes. I joined with the aim of improving bone strength, and helping recover from a shoulder injury - but have ended up with many more benefits than that. The huge, unexpected bonus has been the fabulous sense of fun and community at WAFA! A great bunch of interesting, supportive and entertaining members and lovely coaches. All the additional resources you have access to are also great - mindset workshops, nutrition advice and WAFA walks, drinks and lunches!
This is a completely different experience than joining a gym or having a PT: WAFA is much more than the sum of its parts.

Absolutely non-negotiable part of my…

Absolutely non-negotiable part of my life!
I’ve been a member of WAFA for 6-7 years now and it’s the only exercise regime I’ve ever stuck with. The live online classes are so convenient and I love doing them every day. Great to be with a bunch of non-judgmental and friendly women who support each other - no gym trauma here! Anna is so welcoming and warm and the extras like mindset and nutrition are so helpful. App is very easy to use. Classes at very convenient times. Great value for money compared to other places A real sense of community even if like me, you only do the online not the in person classes. Thoroughly recommend.

The ONLY exercise I have stuck to!…

I joined WAFA in February 2023 after I read about them in an article in the Guardian. I had been looking for an exercise format to help me age well (I'm 66 now) but I hated the idea of a gym (in fact, I'm no lover of exercise!). I liked the idea of an all women exercise group that prioritised strength as well as cardio and had a fad-free approach to nutrition and food. I did the 6 week intro course and decided to sign up as a full member afterwards.
WAFA cares about its members. The coaches are fantastic, friendly and clear, they encourage and never bully, they spot technique fails and correct and the individual follow up for members is still good despite the number of members growing. The other WAFA members are friendly and fun, in the beginning I did in-person classes but then moved to online classes (due to work schedule) and I can honestly say the coaching is still excellent. It caters for all levels and you can see how members improve over time. I now mostly do on-demand classes as that suit my day routine (and I don't cheat). The online coaching is superb and when we've had some lovely WAFA social occasions such as the WAFA Christmas lunch (fun!) the amount of out-of-London members that attend are testament to the strength of the online coaching. You don't need to live in South London to benefit from being a WAFA member.
If you're considering joining an exercise group I highly recommend WAFA (and I'm still no lover of exercise but I can see, and feel, how much fitter and stronger I am now). It's the ONLY exercise group I have stuck to, I *whisper it* might even enjoy it!

I cannot recommend WAFA highly enough

I cannot recommend WAFA highly enough! I am a very reluctant exerciser but this just works - I have been a member for 2 years or so and for the first time in my life I actually enjoy working out.
The staff are all encouraging without being patronising and the exercises are adapted to suit all abilities. The WAFA team certainly understand their clients.
There is also lifestyle advice and information on offer as well as delicious recipes to try for whenever I need it.

I’ve made WAFA a part of my life

I have been a member of WAFA for over a year now and have made it a habit: an integral and key part of my life and fitness. I've tried various gyms, classes and trends over the years and never stuck at anything for long but WAFA is the first fitness approach that has really stuck. I can be quite evangelical about it, as I have seen superb results by following the advice and guidance of the team. It's much more than just classes, it's a whole community. I wish I'd joined years ago, I can't imagine not being part of WAFA. If you'd have told me 2 years ago that I'd be getting up at 6:30am 3 or 4 times a week to do strength and circuit training I would never have believed it; now I get upset with myself if I miss it!

This is a fantastic club

This is a fantastic club.
I've exercised over many years but struggled to maintain consistency and motivation. WAFA has completely changed that. I joined it 2 years ago and haven't at any point felt like dropping out. It's brilliantly supportive to its members, and its classes are structured in a way that enables people of all levels to participate and develop. It has a wealth of resources and very useful workshops. It has really been a transformative experience.

Everything is positive

I looked at all 20 reviews already up here and found only positive comments. And I feel just the same. I am in my late 70's and do a work out 3 times a week. I'd love to have time for all the other activities but this is what still works for me after over 2 years. I started in the church hall and loved it so much that when I moved house I continued online. One of the magical things is that I and everyone else is greeted by the coach when arriving on screen so there is a real personal connection. As the class goes on there are further comments to each member about how well they are doing. Any corrections are never addressed to an individual but in general so no one feels picked on. This organisation has been really well thought through with a kind and upbeat focus so its no wonder we all love it and benefit so much from it.

The results speak for themselves!

I have been a member for over five years, and my experience has been nothing short of transformative. The live classes are a standout feature, providing an engaging and motivating environment that keeps me coming back. The structure and progression in strength training are well thought out, allowing members to build their skills and confidence gradually while seeing tangible improvements.

What truly sets this group apart is the sense of community, whether participating online or in-hall. It promotes a supportive atmosphere where everyone feels connected, which is vital for maintaining motivation and commitment.

Additionally, the nutrition guidance, regular coaching check-ins and the focus on mindset, highlight the holistic approach taken by the team. They genuinely care about us, which is reflected in the personalised support and encouragement provided.

This has been the first fitness program I’ve stuck with consistently. And the results speak for themselves. Through We Are Fit Attitude, I have gained strength, confidence and a deeper understanding of what truly works for me.

I wholeheartedly recommend WAFA to anyone looking to make a lasting change in their health (body and mind) and their fitness journey.

Joining WAFA has been my best decision of 2024

Joining WAFA has been my best decision of 2024. As a Dutch working independent living in France I can join in at flexible times from my home in the French countryside. Yet, I do feel part of an encouraging and committed community of coaches and participants and I make a real effort to join lessons at least 3 times a week. A perfect start of the day, an effort I never regret. The exercises are tailor-made, safe and offered on different levels. This means I can adjust, and am constantly guided to adjust and challenge myself, according to the circumstances. My overall stamina has grown, my aches as a result of spending too much time behind my laptop have mostly disappeared, my muscles have gained strength. I feel so much more positively aware of my body and mentally I feel great after each and every workout. For me it is the best match with all my country walks in the hills. I am only participating in the physical exercises but for those who like and need it WAFA offers many other layers of guidance with workshops and training. Although at a considerable physical distance WAFA has become a solid and close companion in my effort to grow old healthily and strongly with a positive mindset about what I can do myself in a world in turmoil. Just love it, it changed my daily life.

Older ladies give this a go!

As an older woman, I knew strength training was important for aging well, but having experienced going to gyms I didn't relish the thought of another fitness club....how wrong I was! The atmosphere is so supportive and friendly, and it's not about how you look, it's a holistic package of all body work-outs, nutrition, mental wellbeing and socialising with a group of fabulous women!

Life changing option for working out in your 40's and beyond

I've been going to WAFA for years now. It's a brilliant solution for those who don't have the time or confidence for the gym but welcome the motivation and feeling of community you get from attending live sessions and interacting with coaches in real time. The sense of community is incredible among a bunch of people you may never meet! The coaches are top notch. They are highly engaged in every class: encouraging everyone, clear in their explanations of how to do the exercises and why we're doing them and closely monitor where corrections are needed. The classes are brilliantly delivered in a way that offers multiple options catering for different strengths, energy levels and injuries – without ever making you feel that you’re lacking or ‘not doing enough’. It's such a good feeling to know the whole company, not just that one class you're attending, is built around the needs and challenges of being a woman over 40. It makes everything offered feel within reach, tailored to you and deepens the sense of belonging and inclusivity. Excellent value for money and a life changing option for working out in your 40's and beyond!

Really is everything you need in one place

2I started WAFA after I had my first child, a good few years back now. I've loved finally finding an easy to follow exercise plan that I genuinely enjoy but it's so much more than that. Having a coach to support my own personal fitness journey as well as mental health and nutrition programming is such a game changer, but most of all the social side of being part of such an inclusive community of strong and supportive women is what has me coming back. So much more than just a gym membership.

Strength & Confidence

I’ve been a member for almost 6 years and it genuinely isn’t like any other club or gym. WAFA is a real community. You can train online or in the hall, depending on what suits you, and for me the early morning classes work perfectly and have become part of my routine. I also enjoy mindful movements once a week.
WAFA has been with me through different stages of life – even when I worked abroad a few years ago. I’ve logged in from home and abroad, and taken part in webinars on nutrition, menopause and other important topics that really matter.
The classes are live, and that’s what makes the difference. You have to commit – it’s not just another recorded workout you might or might not do. You’re seen, encouraged and supported.
WAFA is more than fitness – it’s a lifestyle I wouldn’t want to miss. It gives me strength, confidence and helps me deal with whatever life throws at me.

Affordable, fun, and easy to commit to

I have an online account and have stuck to it for 2 years now regularly. The coaches are all different and the variety , timing and LIVE classes alongside the ability for me to see meaningful progress in my strength have all contributed to my sticking power. I don’t hate my upper arms anymore! The helpful mindfulness and nutrition workshops are a bonus and really add to the community feel. Even though I am online, I feel part of something really tangible.

Ageing Confidently

I have been with WAFA for two years. I knew that I wanted to take up strength training but have never found it easy to participate in traditional classes. When I found out about WAFA and its online ‘Sweat & Strength’ classes, I knew this was for me. The coaches monitor your form during the class and give advice where needed. Not only that, we are also given personal support and advice for our ongoing fitness. I also join their live and on-demand Pilates classes as well as the Mindset and Nutrition workshops. The combination of all these has really helped me to feel more positive and confident about ageing. Definitely worth joining!
