Ordered myself a car on salary…
Ordered myself a car on salary sacrifice back in September with delivery due end of January. Around the 23rd of January I received an email from the dealership to say that the car has not been built to the specification I had signed up to and the manufacturer is offering £1000 compensation.
I was rather disappointed but still asked how the £1000 compensation would work in practice to understand whether it was a benefit to me or just to the dealership and Tusker. Dealership said it was down to Tusker and Tusker said it was down to the dealership.
Not too long after I give Tusker a call to check on progress and I’m told they’ll requote with the missing optional extras removed by the end of the day. End of the day comes nothing.
Plenty more chasing but seems Tusker can only communicate less than once a week with a customer if that. I email to cancel due the poor coms and things not going anywhere. Surprise-i get a call the next day (now it matters). I finally decide to except the car as is with the competition (turned out part of the compensation was to cover the missing extras that I wood still have to pay for). A whole week later and guess what back to radio silence.
So as all confidence in Tusker has been lost I have cancelled the order.
Very poor customer service!

Misleading
The website suggested that cars were available due to limited numbers leading me to believe they were in stock and quick delivery, however, delivery is advised as late July.

the customer service was exceptional, I had to call the number on a couple of occasions to get clarity and the individuals who answered the phone were fantastic, really helpful and friendly. the best customer service I have experienced in decades. I even turned to my partner (who works in customer service) and told them you need to work there! they actually sound like they enjoy their job

Browsing for a new car to find out if it the benefits of taking a car through the scheme with Tusker. The website was easy to use and the information was clear and accurate. The ordering process was quick and straight including the signing of paperwork.

Not the experience I anticipated
Ordered a car through my company's salary sacrifice scheme.
Twelve days later received an e-mail stating that the cost had gone up because of an increase in the insurance group of the vehicle.
Ok, those things happen. Wasn't too concerned because the original quotation for the car stated that "We (Tuskerdirect Limited) reserve the right to re-quote any vehicle where the price changes outside of our control have come into effect. If these changes result in you no longer wishing to progress your order, you have the right to cancel with no cancellation fees."
That is a direct quote.
Unbelievably, I have now received an e-mail stating that if i wish to cancel there will be fees to pay the dealership.
The response to my e-mail questioning the increase took 10 days and I had to send a chase e-mail.
As a result, I absolutely cannot recommend Tusker.
If you do receive a quotation that you are happy with then just bear in mind that they can change the price and they will expect you to pay cancellation fees which to my mind is completely unjust especially when they state the complete opposite on the quotation.
EDIT: Typical AI response to this review. Nothing in my signed contract says that there are charges to pay if the cost increases. My contract is with Tusker and not the dealership. Any future users of Tusker Please be aware that they can try and change the costs at any time. Do not use.

Easy to Navigate Website & Great Helpdesk
I found the Tusker Website is easy to navigate. Choosing a care was a simple process. When I had a question, the person on the help desk was extremely helpful. I had incorrectly inputted my pension amount, and whenever I requested a quote for a car, an error message kept appearing. It was resolved very quickly and easily with the help of the person on the call. They ran through all my information with me and made sure all items were correct. Having chosen a car, I am receiving regular updates, which is reassuring. I'm looking forward to receiving my car.

Still early days, not as personable as old lease company …
I have leased twice in the past with my employer from SG Fleet leasing.
I found them a lot more informative and spoke on phone so there was no confusion and had an individual dealing with my order all the way through. This meant I had a constant stream of emails and phone calls making life easier.
With tusker I found app was ok to use, documents easy to sign and download etc.
I think it would be nice to of had a more personal email at the start with a plan of attack rather than me not understanding the app wording and having to phone them.
Some work colleagues have found tusker hot and cold but im only a couple of weeks into ordering so can only comment the above.
