It may be very good value up front but it is all the hidden costs. I did a 12 day China tour which included flights, hotels and breakfasts. But it is the compulsory tipping (not known at the time of booking) and the "optional tours" that claw money out of you. How can a tip be compulsory. If they are compulsory, put it into the price and be upfront about it. And the optional tours are far from optional because you don't really have a choice. If you don't do the option then you still have to stay on the bus or stand around for hours waiting for others that are doing the option. This is my first experience with a guided tour and I would recommend you stay away from this one or at least get ALL the information up front BEFORE buying into the trip.

The other very sore point are the "shop & factory tours" which are just selling exercises - silk factory, chinese medicine, souvenir shop visits carefully selected by the guide, tea factory visit and so on. These are just gouging exercises.

Currently on a Trip a Deal holiday in Vietnam from Hanoi to Ho Chi Min city. Inadvertently left my cash in room safe of Legends Hotel in Ninh Binh. Tour guide Thang Tran received a call from hotel about an hour after our bus had departed the hotel informing him of the cash left in the room safe. Thang worked with hotel staff and other tour guide to have my cash delivered to me at one of our stops on our way to Pu Luong. Fantastic effort and honesty from Trip a Deal and hotel staff.

Unbeatable Japan
3rd trip with Trip a deal and this would have to be my favourite. Our tour guide Edna was so knowledgeable, very passionate, funny and well spoken. Nothing was too much trouble when you needed help.
Yes the trip was fast pace and long bus trips, lots of walking, but you would expect that when it was jammed packed of all highlights. In saying that our 80 yo's had no problem. Bus trips were broken up with coffee breaks usually in a scenic area. You want a highlight holiday book trip a deal, you want a relaxing holiday book it yourself with extra days.
We ended up doing the extra tours simply because they were visiting the areas we were going to negotiate ourselves. In fact we saw more with the tour than we would've seen doing it ourselves. The cost probably the amount we would've spent anyway.
If we had extra time Edna organised to do something.
My only negative was the half day optional tour in Kyoto which is advertised. It's not really optional. It's best to do it because there is really no place where you can be dropped off and picked up later. But this tour was fantastic anyway for an extra $50.
Highly recommend Japan.

Had a great first trip to japan on the Japan highlights for 2 tour. We had great weather, great food and sightseeing. But the one thing that made our trip memorable was Hans our guide. He had us in stitches he was so funny but also knowledgeable and kind. Also a mention to our bus driver Nala.

CHINA ADVENTURE; Sam n Lee. overall, we came home with positive thoughts and a couple of suggestions. Firstly, China itself, a huge place and well worth the trip, the people wlk around looking serious, minute you interact and try their language, their faces light up, was a highlight for me. Our guides, Melinda n thomas (jerry) our driver were all wonderful and helpful, from relating their history to being our currency exchange, where to eat etc. The things that had us worried before we left where the squat toilets (didnt use a single one, so if thats holding you back..dont let it. Alipay was used by some of our group but all we used was the yuan, the guides could convert from aussie dollars for a set rate of 4.6y to aussie dollar. Only suggestions for this trip and one negative feedback were maybe a slightly smaller group than 40 would have been better but the group interactions were almost perfect. Inner Mongolia was a splendid surprise and we didnt think it was marketed well enough, theres more there than archery and horse riding, which none of us did anyway. The real negative was the 10 hour bus trip n then the 5-6 hour train trip afterwards to get to our next city, they were very draining. Despite the very numerous security checks, we always felt a part of the cities. The pace was a little too full on, a slightly slower pace would have been preferable, as some of the group and the sheer size of it at times seem to pressure some. But in all, would say if you want to see China, you cant go wrong with trip a deal. This was our thried tour, wont be our last.

Great trip, excellent value for what you pay
However this is our experience, although fantastic a few things that should be added to the itinerary would mean a lot less confusion between customers,
A few unexpected costs,
20 rmb for ear pieces, no issue and they were definitely needed,
They book for lunch and you have to pay
Not that it was an issue, but there are multiple options available for you to buy your own,
The change in the itinerary which left multiple people confused, payment taken on bus for optional tours and tipping, they also don’t like white envelopes, as it’s a sign of death and they use white envelopes for funerals, so a lot of us took the money out and gave it to them that way,
If you are lucky enough to have king, Orange and Maggie as a guide you’ve hit the lottery, they all went above and beyond
Overall could not fault the trip just wish they had added the extras in your paperwork so your prepared abit better,

We did the 8 day tour of Japan with Blair as our tour guide. Had a fantastic time and the tour took us throughout many lovely areas. Blair was extremely pleasant and helpful and also very knowledgeable. It’s easy to see how passionate she is about her job and also Japan. Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the wonders of Japan.

We just completed 12 Days China tour.
Well the accommodation was a long distance from the highlights we visited.
Also some were poor accommodation no fridges or ice available in the first 5 days of tours,No face washers in rooms.
The only company I know of that if you don't take part in a optional tour,
They don't return you to your hotel.
Plus side was great wall.Terracotta Warriors.Fast train.Forbidden city.
Summer palace.

The most serious issue in this entire experience was the forced retention of our passports for five days without any clear explanation or justification. Passports are official government documents, and they should never be taken or held by a tour operator against the traveller’s will. I believe this matter should be properly investigated by the relevant authorities, including the police, as there are serious concerns about who had access to our passports, where they were kept, and whether any legal or safety breaches occurred during this time. Horrible tripe

Our China trip was truly an unforgettable experience and exceptional value for money. At just $999 per person, including international flights, accommodation, and guided tours, this has to be one of the best travel deals available.

From start to finish, everything was very well organised, allowing us to enjoy the journey without any stress. The itinerary was fantastic, covering many of China’s iconic attractions, cultural highlights, and modern landmarks. Every destination offered something unique, making the entire trip both exciting and memorable.

The hotels exceeded our expectations. They were clean, modern, comfortable, and well-located, providing an excellent place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. The coaches used throughout the tour were also spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, making travel between destinations relaxing and enjoyable.

The food, sightseeing, transportation, and overall organisation were excellent. We felt that every aspect of the tour delivered outstanding value, especially considering the remarkably affordable price. The tour which commenced on May 17th and ended on 27th May was a wonderful experience, where our expectations in terms of travel, accommodation, food and activities were exceeded. We recently completed the 21‑day TripADeal tour of Sri Lanka and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Sri Lanka is a remarkable country — rich in history, culture, scenery and warmth — and this tour allowed us to experience every facet of it.
What made the trip exceptional, however, was the outstanding team who looked after us from start to finish.
Our driver, Kapila, was exceptional. His skill, calmness and professionalism meant we always felt safe, no matter the traffic or road conditions. He greeted us every day with a big smile and ensured our comfort throughout the entire journey.
Asela, his assistant, was an absolute marvel. The bus was always spotless, we were welcomed each morning with a smile (and often a flower), and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. His attention to detail made a huge difference.
Our guide, Udi, was simply sensational. His deep knowledge, passion for Sri Lanka and genuine care for every member of the group elevated the entire experience. He showed the highest regard for us in every aspect of the tour. Udi is a true credit to Sri Lanka and to TripADeal.
This tour exceeded our expectations in every way. The country is beautiful, but the people who guided us made it extraordinary. We will remember this trip — and them — for a very long time.

My 23 year old daughter and I went on the for 2 deal to Vietnam. We had the most amazing time, the small group of strangers become our family, our tour guy Lee was simply the best, he was our everything on the trip, his knowledge and jokes and generosity made our holiday effortless and easy. Thank you Lee and Tripadeal for one of the most memorable holiday I have ever been on. We created so many forever memories.

It was our first trip to the Land of the rising Sun, a “taste” of Japan, so it was a reasonably well planned 9d/8n itinerary visiting the 3 main cities Tokyo, Kyoto & Osaka. The Accommodations were centrally located within walking distances to Shopping strips & food! Blair our guide was exceptional, not only did she cover the group tours well (info, background etc) she was constantly looking out for everyone making sure we were all ok, and assisted in any way she could with individual shopping queries I.e., if she wasn’t sure she would find out and get back to us. Her friendly, witty sense of humour and approachable personality made the bus rides fun and enjoyable. Overall a memorable first trip, we will certainly come back to visit Japan again !

The tour guide Blair was happy and cheerful throughout the entire tour. Her expansive knowledge of the culture was informative and clear.
The driver was very professional and did a great job on keeping a time schedule.
