Snowmobile Voyager
We recently experienced the Snowmobile Voyager Tour with Transun, staying at Hotel Rakka, and it was truly an incredible trip. Although the lake wasn’t frozen enough for the three borders snowmobile route, we were taken along an alternative route over another lake, which turned out to be our favourite part of the trip. Visiting the Sami Reindeer Farm was another highlight, learning about their culture was so interesting. Feeding the reindeer and getting to do the sleigh ride was just magical.
The hotel exceeded our expectations; the rooms were beautifully decorated, and the food was nice for every meal. My partner is coeliac, and we had no issues at all—the staff were knowledgeable about dietary requirements, and everything was clearly labelled.
Overall, it was a once in a lifetime trip, filled with unforgettable memories, and we’d recommend it to people of all ages.
Snowmobile Voyager Tour
What an amazing experience! This is a truly magical and a must see destination for everyone. Our tour consisted of a Snowmobile Safari, The Sami Reindeer experience and a snowmobile tour in search of the Northern Lights. There was the option of adding on extra excursions in resort for a fee which is great if you decide you would like to do more once you're there. We stayed in Santa's Hotel Rakka which was a stunning hotel with modern interior, great staff and yummy food. I would 100% recommend this hotel and tour to anyone as it is definitely a bucket list destination!
3 night Snowmobile Voyager
I went with Transun on the Snowmobile Voyager. This is over 17's only. The hotel Rakka that we stayed in was out of this world. All hotel rooms had floor to ceiling windows which means everyone has amazing views. They also have apartments for larger groups staying. The food was fresh and plenty of options, they also catered for gluten free so I would make sure they are aware of any dietary needs before going.
We had 3 excursions included on the trip. The Three Borders Snowmobile Safari, Sami Reindeer Experience and Northern Lights Snowmobile Safari. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cold enough to do the borders as some lakes weren't frozen over enough but we did get to do another route and had the same amount of time on them. The Sami culture has amazing history and the importance it has now. They introduce the reindeers as well and we got to learn about the life of them plus experience feeding them and a sleigh ride. For the Northern Lights it was out on the snowmobile again on a different route from the first day. It was too cloudy to see which is also a possiblity but still got to take amazing photos and had an amazing time on the snowmobiles.
There is a lot of down time and they do have extras trips you can add on while out there, there needs to be minimum numbers for them but the rep will adivse. Main tip would be bring extra layers, you will need them!
3 night Snow Mobile Voyager
I recently had the opportunity to travel to Lapland on the Snowmobile voyager tour with Transun. This tour is aimed at over 17s and doesn't involve seeing Santa. However, we got to drive the snowmobile across the arctic circle, across frozen lakes and the most stunning scenery. We also took in a visit to a Sami reindeer farm, it was truly amazing to get to feed the deer and take a sleigh ride with them. The Sami culture is very interesting and it was great to hear and learn about it first hand. We also took a night time snow mobile ride in search of the Northern lights. There were a few optional excursions offered locally - I personally did not avail of any of these but 3 from our group did the Ice Fishing adventure and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in The Rakka hotel on a full board basis, could not fault anything about it, food was fresh and tasty, rooms modern and spotless and most importantly warm and cosy after coming in from minus temps. If you are expecting to go to Lapland and be in the centre of a village then this is not for you. It really is in the wilderness but its a definite must do if you want to experience the real Lapland! There was 6 of us and we all had such a fun time with loads of laughs. Great memories :-)
I did the Snowmobile Voyager with…
I did the Snowmobile Voyager with Transun in December. It was brilliantly organised, well run and the hotel Rakka was a superb choice. Hotel massively exceed expectations and the food was really good. The tour company used to run the snowmobile trips were excellent and it was a great three nights and well worth it. An unreal part of the world
AVOID TRANSUN PLEASE CHOSE ANOTHER OPERATOR
Please do your homework AVOID Tranun yesterday was my 4th visit to Lapland previous visits Tui and Canterbury Tales
absolutely no comparison, from set of at airport GLA was a shambles families separated with young children, third in line to check in took 30 minutes, the flight was over an hour late departing due to this, no activities on board, no Christmas music a Polish chartered airline basic food , resort wilderness is the correct description absolutely nothing there a lake with few huts surrounding , 3 2/3 minute activities then nothing described as free time , free time for what to walk around in the snow , couple of tepee type huts for tea coffee, no hot chocolate for the kids, that had to be purchased 4 Euros a cup, mostly kids and for £600 each not a cup of hot chocolate, no letter to Santa, no artic circle certificate, no tea or coffee with a basic meal , water or juice , everything was done on the cheap despite prices comparable to other operators, PLEASE TO SAVE DISAPPOINTMENT CHOOSE ANOTHER TOUR OPERATOR , I actually called Transun the day before departure as was concerned by reviews ( working in the industry I know these can sometimes just be personal choice) but I was assured they were learning each season and I wouldn’t be disappointed, sorry we were kids spent more time playing on sledges on a small slope that weather providing could have done anywhere

Booked and have paid nearly £8,000 for 6 of us for a 2 night trip, to find I cannot book an extra leg room or medical seat for one of our party. Would have been more than happy to pay.
I'm so disapointed with this company..I can only hope it's not a let down when we get there!
7 day trip with Transun…
We did a 7 day trip with Transun staying at the Davii artic Lodge!
It was a trip of a lifetime and for the price paid I would highly recommend it to absolutely everyone!
I had broken my arm a month before the trip and spoke to Transun before who were happy I would still enjoy the trip but to let the onside staff know for activities.
The staff in Lapland all kept an eye and checked in and I was still able to do most the activities as a passenger (although still gutted and want to come back to Dorset a snowmobile myslef)
Couldn't have asked for more from Transun here.
The hotel itself was perfect!! ( left a separate review on this in more detail) 5⭐️
I have marked my review of Transun down to 4 stars for a few reasons:
- Lots of activities were advertised as 1 hour or 2 hours etc but this included all of the travel time too. So a 2 hour experience at the reindeer camp was a 15 minute talk and a 10 min reindeer sleigh ride, the 1 hour husky safari was about 20/30 minutes
This wasn't clear whatsoever on booking
- we also found some activities quite tame as a large group, on the snowmobiles (advertised as 2 hours, no more than 1 hour max) it was incredibly slow, and we had to stay in a line the whole time behind a very slow couple who kept stopping.
We spoke to the staff who said yeah it was super slow ssdly that night, but if we booked and paid for the extra snowmobile trip it would be faster.
However, we did the snowmobiles on day 5 of 7 and there was no spaces left on any of the extra trips at this point.
Again, the husky were also day 6 of 7 so we would ahve booked an extra excursion here to have longer but the one on day 7 was sold out.
It was frustrating that the main activities we were excited for were so late in the week and then a bit of a let down compared to expectations.
Especially as it was then too late to book extra trips.
- we paid the £750 for the glass igloos. For the cost we thought we would have a lot of time there. However we got there about 5:30pm in the evening so by the time we got settled it was time for dinner. We were then picked up at 10 the following morning so had time for a small walk and breakfast before needing to pack up.
Firstly, the igloos and the reindeer reserve are incredible! And was one of my holiday highlights.
But from speaking to reserve owner in the cost you get snowmobiles, sleds etc included and they take you in a trip up into the hills to see more of their reindeer. But because we stay for such a short time there is no time to be able to do any of this, which is such a shame. It would be nice to get there for 2 pm and be picked up later the next day to fully get the experience.
Whilst there are points above I am frustrated by, for the price we paid for 7 nights, and how amazing the hotel is, I would still highly highly recommend the trip!! We looked and it was no cheaper to got for 3/4 nights compared to the 7 we stayed and we had the best time.
Highlights included just wondering round the hotel grounds, sledding and seeing reindeer walk past.
There are some bad reviews of Transun so I was nervous, but this is one of the best holidays I've done in my life!
Igloo experience grim!
We had a great holiday on the Northern Lights Trip to Lapland. I have only given this 1 star because of the igloo experience that we paid £260 extra for. This was not good. It was obviously going to be cold but the sleeping bags were not adequate for the weather. Also we were told to go to the toilet right by the fire pit where everyone eats their marshmallows and with all the snowmobiles going right past. Not nice for us or the people after us! We bailed out about 11pm
Don’t bitter it’s a waste of money go…
Don’t bitter it’s a waste of money go with a different company these guys just want your cash, it’s run by kids who have no training just earning there beer tokens. This trip is like the Benidorm of Iceland total bum fight all the way.
The food was awful pasta in a dodgy sauce Santa was a huge disappointment I could go on and in but in short DO NOT book with this company trust me I will be saving you thousands
Wow !!
Wow what a truly once in a lifetime experience, far above my expectations.
We stayed at the Davvi Artic Hotel in a lodge. Everything so well organised by Transun from start to finish. All staff were brilliant and the organised activities were magical. My only negative is that we were in a lodge and the joining wall could do with being sound proofed as we could hear next doors conversations.
We are really well travelled and this goes down as probably our so far. Highly recommend this trip to anyone thinking about it 👍 we were so lucky to see the Northern Lights on 4 out of our 7 nights 💫
Arctic adventure
Absolutely brilliant holiday.Stayed at Hotel Jussantupa, lovely hotel, good food, lovely staff. The whole holiday was excellent, would highly recommend.
What can I say about my holiday with Transun
What can I say about my holiday with Transun! One of the mist amazing holidays I’ve been on. It was always a dream to head to the far north of Europe, and I wasn’t disappointed. The airport transfers were excellent with a direct transfer to the accommodation. The accommodation we stayed at was “Tundrea”. The rooms were clean, tidy and with great views. Throughout the entire trip there were guides ready to help with any questions we could possibly have. The excursions were amazing and great fun, particularly the ice fishing, the snowmobile ride was very exciting, and the snacks provided mid trip were lovely. I also highly recommend the northern lights snowmobile expedition, it was amazing to see the beautiful skies without any light pollution. Despite it being very cold (-22C), we were provided with all the clothing and equipment we could possibly need and were very warm during the trip. The local people were lovely and super friendly and happy to help with anything we needed.
A highlight of the trip and one that everyone enjoyed was the reindeer experience where we were given a talk about the lives of the reindeer farmers and the hardships they go through. We then went on a sleigh pulled by the reindeers; it was amazing and would be excellent for children! There was even an open fire for toasting some marshmallows while we could also feed the reindeers. I’ve never seen a frozen marshmallow before!
All I can say is if you’re hesitating about booking a trip to Lapland don’t. You won’t be disappointed, and I can thoroughly recommend the team at Transun to make sure this is a holiday of a lifetime!
Trip to the Tundrea with Transun
I went to the Tundrea hotel with Transun on the Snowmobile Voyager package. It was brilliant! I couldn’t fault it in any way. The staff were lovely and the activities were well planned out. When on the snowmobiles I felt very comfortable as the team explained how to drive them very well and at no point I felt unsafe. You can drive to your own ability with no pressure. They do regular stops to check on everyone to make sure they’re comfortable. We decided to add on the ice fishing excursion and it was well worth it! At first we were in two minds about going but we are all glad we did as the views were just stunning and the warm berry juice and the donut really topped it off!
We also went on the late night northern lights snowmobile and we were lucky enough to see them in all their glory and it was terrific! Definitely something I will remember for the rest of my life.
Apart of the package holiday we got to visit a reindeer farm and the owner was very informative and told us all about the history of the Sami tribes and how the reindeer are so important to their legacy.
If you’re in two minds about booking on the extras, I’d highly recommend doing them as you might as well as you’re there.
One thing I’d advise is taking hand warmers and foot warmers as they will come in very handy on the snowmobiles as it does get very chilly.
Thank you again Transun for this incredible holiday!
wonderful vacation
Our vacation was wonderful. The excursions were well organized. We were picked up from the hotel by car and taken there directly. What we appreciated was that we were informed daily about any changes to the excursions, so we were able to structure our day better. Due to the extreme cold (-50°), some of the excursions had to be modified or even canceled. However, the staff always tried to get the most out of each day, which we were very happy about.
We can definitely recommend Transun.
What an experience!
What a wonderful holiday with Transun!
The airport and transfer:
The flight both there and back were fabulous with the crew on board excellent and check in at both airports couldn't have been easier. The transfer was a 2 hour ish drive to where we were staying and was a lovely drive.
Accommodation:
Tundrea were we stayed was brilliant and the rooms were well equipped for everything we needed. It was in a brilliant location and close to everything we needed excursions, shops, etc
Hotel and staff
Overall cleanliness and functioning of hotel was brilliant with the brilliant helpful staff to accommodate this. The food was excellent with a hot meal available for every part of the day and lots of drinks and snacks available too and also the bar if you fancy a drink. The staff were always on hand to help and were very polite.
Excursions + activities
The excursions were amazing, can't fault them. The snowmobile voyages were incredible, both the 3 border one and northern light one, in which we were fortunate to see a bit of them! They were well equipped with 3 guides who we followed and who all had very good knowledge of the surroundings and snow mobiles and ensured we knew how to operate them safely. We went on the ice fishing excursion too, a must try even if you hate fishing, it is an incredible experience of the lake with the sun shining and having a good time! We also did the snowshoeing, a must try for anyone, a great experience and also the sami reindeer camp in which we fed and rode the reindeers, again an unbelievable experience.
Overall, we had a wonderful time with everything from the transfers to the food to the excursions and we will most definitely be using Transun again and going again, simply the best holiday and experience, would highly recommend to anyone!

What an amazing trip!!! Didn't see the northern lights but the activities are fantastic and what make the trip.
The my favourite was the huskies. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Transfer worked perfectly and food was good. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back 😍
Simply magical…
Just returned from a Northern Lights tour……Wow. A truly once in a lifetime experience.
So well organised by Transun from start to finish. The accommodation was excellent (Davvi Arctic Star), the staff were brilliant and the organised activities were magical.
We are really well travelled and this goes down as probably the best trip we have ever take. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about it.
Wonderful experience
My daughter granddaughter myself travelled 27th Dec 2023 was trouble landing at original airport not sure what problem was ended going to another airport on runway for an hour until a decision was made went back to th original airport. Bit chaotic at airport with the suitcases as not on a conveyer belt just stacked up fight to find your case. Coach to hotel rep was lovely collected suits and boots got our rooms in hotel roo 210 perfect asked for an exterm mattress as I was on a put u up, no problem went to restaurant food was lovely then meeting given groups and times. Next day free morning went to shop at bottom of hill, after lunch went on a 50min coach to snow mobiles reindeer ride and santana, all a bit chaotic as lots of waiting around for your turn on excursions. Sleighs very uncomfortable sat on wood pallets with grubby blankets cover you, could improve on the sleighs very old could have some new ones or padded seats. Ride you were thrown around my back was killing me at end also branches were smacking you in the face I had a cut nose and eye keep your heads down as lots of young children were crying. Waited to see santa another uncomfortable ride got to reindeersay but was to dark take photos of them santa was great granddaughter liked him was a long day. Next day was best seeing the huskies much more organised not like the day before overall wonderful experience would not go again bin there done it got the time shirt
