TopGrass was launched in 2005 with the aim of offering top-quality lawn care using the knowledge, materials, and equipment of the professional groundsman and applying it to domestic lawns. TopGrass is an independent lawn treatment company set up by Tom Arnold and Ian Decourcy whose backgrounds combine experience in treating professional lawns and sports turf with business expertise from working in quality-driven blue-chip companies. After many years, we are now a well-established, family-run company. Tom's wife Shirley, daughter Katie and two sons Chris and Peter, all now have varying input into the business and bring with them their core family values to the everyday running of the company.

Really happy with work so far - with them since 2022
We had a few seasonal services from TopGrass initially as our grass was pretty bad, we have large trees nearby taking the moisture from the lawn, broadleaf weeds, and grassless patches. There was improvement, but we decided to go for a total reseed in the end, as it was so depressing looking at it!
Well…it was great! The techs came and assessed it, a date promptly given, a description of the work, and a competitive price..with an added discount.
Obviously with the scarification and the aeration, the lawn looked messy for a while…but what an improvement!
The techs came back for a germination check to make sure it had taken ok, and filled a few patches.
We didn’t think it could look so good….we are keeping it well watered in the drier weather…but we are so pleased with it!
The techs that have attended us so far, Jack, Rhys and Michael have been great - really friendly and knowledgeable chaps.
We have subsequently gone for a monthly plan, again with % discounts…so our lawn is well looked after…
We get notified well in advance of attendance, who is coming, and what treatment/process they are going to carry out.
The website is very good…full of information, and you can see your account clearly and add any extra treatments you want.
There is a contact page, and the response is quick.
After the treatments….I receive a video or/and a report on what the techs have done, what they found, and offer advise if required.
We had tried many home treatments in the past, to no significant avail, and every year it looked worse and worse … so we are glad to have found TopGrass, who use quality products, and are knowledgeable about their work!

Terrible company
My parents after paying to have lawn done and five extra payments of £28 the last one charged over £200 for a scarify - they were not made aware of this and would not have had it done apparently they received a letter which after many calls to customer service no proof was given, had a CCJ which was extremely upsetting for my elderly parents they are a terrible and will not be recommending have caused a lot of upset for my family

Initially good but...
Have been a customer since 2020 and initial re-seed was excellent as was condition of the grass until a quarterly service in spring of 2022 left my lawn in a mess. Reported this and promised a re-visit which has never materialised. I'm on a quarterly service contract but over the past 9 months,3 promised inspections/treatments have been cancelled by the company (4 if you include December when snow was a problem for all). Latest today when I was promised I was the 1st appointment, only when I phoned at 11.25 was I told "did we say that" and that the technician was elsewhere . As I have to be elsewhere by 12.00, yet again let down.

Great service from David at Top Grass.
David from Top Grass came out to treat our lawn which was in a poor state after the recent dry summer. He expained very clearly what the problems were and put us in touch with a package that would bring the lawn back to life and save us money. time and energy. We are very grateful. David was cheerful, friendly and clear in his explanations.

NOT RECOMMENDED
They missed several appointments pre summer, which led to the Moss situation getting out of control. Our payment plan ended and I didn't want to renew, but they visited and then invoiced me. I asked to pay the reduced rate that I had paid for the previous year (pro rata), which was about an £8 saving They refused. I explained that their email notification, once out of your plan wasn't clear and that they didn't show total transparency. I wanted the saving out of principle but they didn't seem interested. Although I didn't see the point in paying for a service anymore that wasn't working. They then quoted me £400 to rectify the moss issue. Topgrass seem to have got too big to care, I'd recommend using small, independent lawn service!
In response to your reply, I called your customer service team 5 times chasing a response to my request and they refused to do anything, so there is no point me calling. Hence the review.
As previously mentioned it went to your management team and they refused to meet me half way by reducing it by £8. I don’t want you to resolve it as I have moved to a smaller firm. All the best!

Getting Greedy and inflexible?
We have used TG for several years but they are starting to get greedy. They won't do a standalone scarify but want to do a complete 'restoration' which we did have done a few years back. They wouldn't back off that so we may have to back-off TopGrass and go with one of the other lawn management companies. The guys who do the work are great; it's the office that is the problem.

My lawn would be dead without Top Grass
I have been using TopGrass for a few years now!! Excellent service! My lawn is still looking fabulous even with the hot weather! The guys are great and extremely knowledgeable!!! Great advice on what your lawn needs going forward!! 💯 recommend!!

Amazing service so far
Amazing service so far! We are throughly pleased with the results so far and it’s only been one application. Where I am impressed the most is the communication, ease of use of the website and account, payments and what treats you’ve had and are due to have. The whole thing seems to run with client experience and ease in mind. I have recommended TG to a few of my neighbours.
