This is the third time this company have come after me for someone else's debt, they just take a scatter gun approach, contacting anyone with the same name, appalling company!

Ian the gentleman on the phone, was extremely helpful and understanding of my situation. He helped me work out a plan without any pressure.

I spoke with Beth at TM Legal today regarding a balance they say I owe. I explained my financial difficulties and the impact the situation is having on my mental health. Despite this, I felt that I was being pressured to pay the balance, even though I dispute that I owe this debt.

What was particularly distressing was the way the conversation came across to me. I felt that my financial and mental-health circumstances were not being taken seriously, and I came away feeling as though I was being told that death was the only way I could escape the situation. I found this deeply upsetting and inappropriate.

I believe people dealing with financial difficulties should be treated with dignity and compassion, particularly when they disclose that they are struggling with their mental health. I am extremely unhappy with how this conversation was handled and would urge anyone dealing with TM Legal to keep records of all communications and seek independent advice if they dispute a debt.

A branch of "Perch Capital Ltd", the same company as ACI -working out of a little office on an industrial estate in Blackpool
They are a scumbag debt collection agency chasing low credibility "debts" sold on from companies such as Sky tv (probably for a tiny percentage)
When you don't respond to ACI, they pass it on to their mates across the office - my advice is to ask them for a Privacy Request (Subject Access Request (SAR)). They will have been given no information from Sky (etc) about you or your "debt" & therefore cannot take any further action
There is probably 1 solicitor (intern?) as they are listed with the Solicitors Regulatory body

Everything about TM Legal screams non-compliance with regulatory and legal requirements - to the extent that they can't even fulfill their legal obligations of completing a Subject Access Request - clearly this is because this would provide positive proof of their campaign of consistent and shocking levels of harassment. I have reported them to all authorities. Of all the debt collection companies I have dealt with TM Legal are the lowest of the low in an already murky pond!

Christie was brilliant, very kind, professional, understanding, offered me different solutions, can't thank her enough and I really appreciate all her help.

Was on the phone with a staff member called Hope, she was very polite. She listened and explained the context of the call in a way I understand after I told her I struggle to understand things. She "dumbed" is down as people would say but in a good way. I fully understood the hole process when she did. She took into account my finance situation and set helped me set up a plan on a date I know i can pay on. Although it will take me just over 2 years to fully pay it off, but she was not mad nor did she push to impress the monthly repayment. Unlike other debt agencies will push for stupid monthly payments. They explained more of the debt I have and kept calm duing the the hole call. I suffer with a few medical conditions, but she spoke to me as a human with respect and clarity. Very helpful and I am glad that I got the phone call done, as I was concerned the letters where not legit. Overall I am verry satisfied with the service I received, and one less thing to stress over now.

I forgot the gentleman’s name but he was fantastic on the call with me today. Made me feel at ease and helped me sort something out.

TM Legal are extremely helpful, professional, considerate & very understanding in what ever your position you find yourself regarding debt. They arrange with you what will be best for you on repaying off your debt with no pressure. Again they are very understanding & considerate, I would highly recommend them to my family & friends.

When you have to make a call to this company, you've definitely got problems at home. Don't be afraid, the call will go smoothly, make sure you have your income and expenditure and be truthful. The call handler will be understanding, no judgement, they are there to help and if you are lucky enough to get Ian, you're on the road to feeling so much financial relief by the end of the chat. Don't stick your head in the sand, the issues will not disappear, stand up straight, breathe deeply and make that call and this is from a person who had a mental breakdown due to financial burdens.....

I have no interest in your fake “hi there”, or your jargonistic “reaching out” – I have not fallen from the Titanic waiting for your lifebelt – or your “investigations” (do they come with a magnifying glass and a Cluedo set?)
Further to your communication of 23.09.26, I make the following observations.
While I was reasonably well-disposed to your company at the outset since you were merely inheriting a matter that, for five years, has remained ludicrously unresolved, it would appear that your company's incompetence now exceeds that of the apathetic, ill-mannered and evasive company that you represent, thereby degenerating into cyclical nonsense.
In earlier correspondence (documented):
[i] I instructed your company that I am not your “friend,” nor am I lured by casual first name terms. This is ostensibly professional correspondence and should be conducted in that manner. I would suggest that you read previous correspondence - because it appears that you have not done so.
[ii] I have made repeated requests for documentation, which have been ignored and / or avoided for a period of 5 (FIVE) years. Rather than your regurgitating a standard and uncontextualised communication, I would suggest that you read previous correspondence – because it appears that you have not done so.
[iii] I have made repeated and highly detailed statements in response to this matter, none of which have been acknowledged let alone addressed. I would suggest that you read previous correspondence – because it appears that you have not done so.
[iv] Your company wrote to an address where I do not live, which I do not own, where I have never resided in any capacity, and in which I have no property. You had no legal right to do so. To date, you have failed to offer any reason for that. Is the practice of your company to ignore questions addressed directly to you? I would suggest that you read previous correspondence – especially where I have explicitly stated my potential reporting of your company to Police Scotland – because it appears that you have not done so.
[v] I have made it repeatedly and abundantly clear that I have no interest in any outcome of your ‘investigations.’ Frankly, if your company, or the company that you represent, is incapable of ‘investigating’ what was a comparatively minor matter within an eight-week period then I suggest that:
[a] your company investigates itself – because it appears it has not done so;
[b] you read previous correspondence – because it appears that you have not done so, and
[c] your company has the courtesy to act accordingly – because it appears that it has not done so.
[vi] Rest assured that my escalation of this matter will go well beyond any further procrastination effected by the CSA.
I have already written a review on Trustpilot. I shall, of course, be writing another one, to be precise a copy of this correspondence.
[vii] “If you would prefer to wait, we expect to send you our Final Response very shortly.”
I am not waiting until you most nobly condescend to provide your final response. You, or the company that you represent, have had five years to do that.
If you would prefer to wait, then you can expect my “Final Response” which will never happen.
Maybe you should engage in some in-service training e.g. “letting the left hand know what the right hand is doing,” or “running around in circles, and how to avoid it,” or “reading correspondence more than 24 hours old and thinking that it may have some relevance” – that’s a real “winner”.
Once again, I shall keep my anonymity here, but you’ll have no trouble finding me – because I have just sent all of this to you – and the 24 hour "we'll just ignore it" time period has not yet passed; let’s hope it will work.

The man i spoke to today was helpful and police and very understanding to my situation.. thankyou

Spoke with Ian after burying my head in the sand and avoiding all contact for a number of months dues to mental health issues. He was very understanding of my situation. And helped in every way he could by lowering my monthly payment and delaying the payment.

Amazing service received from Beth today. I can be honest and say I was a little rude towards her and this was no fault of hers. She went above and beyond to help me today. Sometime awful situation can turn us into awful people, I just want to apologise for being rude towards her.
10/10 for her politeness and calmness throughout our conversation. Sorry again for being that person !

Ive been so worried about getting in contact with these as didnt think anyone would listen to what im going through at the moment but felt so relaxed once speaking to someone and felt like I was being listened to about what im going through and feel so relived I have now got this sorted,the lady was amazing and so polite,very good company and thank you for supporting me
