Since the government have taken over the trains the service has got worse.
Your name should be CANCELLED LINK Not…
Your name should be CANCELLED LINK Not THAMESLINK.
Tickets are more expensive and the services much worse than before.
Absolutely awful I make the journey…
Absolutely awful I make the journey from Leagrave to London 5 days a week and there is always delays and cancellations the worst train operator on the national rail network, they can’t handle the pressure absolutely useless… just fold the company and hand it to someone who can actually handle the pressure and knows how to consistently run services. If I could give it 0 I would.
Jude Bellingham
Really great that Thameslink joined in the fun and are continuing to call their Bellingham Station after Jude. Nice one Thameslink
At this point do they care about…
At this point do they care about customer feedback? Frequent delays. Trains decide to cancel stops while you’re on the train, therefore you’re stuck and stranded - hellish! Trains also arrive into platforms like Farringdon and only come up part way, then as you run to get on it leaves anyway - despite the fact you’d waited for the train, you were on time, and they didn’t announce it was a short train and to move up the platform. That is not catering to anyone with less mobility or a disability. Truly terrible thinking. Pluses are air con is helpful if it works and luggage storage is good.
Literally a nightmare on the train they…
Literally a nightmare on the train they like to stop the train like 2 times for 10 minutes disrupting my journey! This happens often!! It’s ridiculous why should I pay if I need to avoid the train because it’ll make me late and waste money on tickets for my connecting transport!

Travelling from Bickley most trains to…
Travelling from Bickley most trains to London cancelled back to back, each with the same excuse a fault on the trains/signalling fault As this has happened and I am virtually stranded, is it not fair that Thameslink should pay the cab fare to all custoners or better lay the cabs on. Not even a rail replacement service available. If all your trains have developed faults why should we suffer. Maybe a thorough investigation should be conducted as I know the difference between delayed and cancelled. I even took screenshots just so I could share the BS. More excuses than our politicians.
Do not use
Absolute circus, the weather was super hot and no ventilation or AC in the train going to Gatwick airport from Farringdon at 13.04. No windows to open and it was cooler outside than inside. WTF is wrong with this company 🥵🥵🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Very uncomfortable train
I've never been so uncomfortable on a train in my life!
The seats are too narrow, rock hard and there are obstructions for feet.
Stick to Southern train or Gatwick Express if you want a reasonable journey.
Dirty and ran down,
Dirty and ran down.
seats are stained and uncomfortable, and the dust and dirt is very noticeable when you sit down.
Graffiti in the toilet , marks all over the carriage walls
Almost every day delays at St Pancras…
Almost every day delays at St Pancras International - actuallya miracle of it arrives on time. And no one announces the train so I've gotten on the wrong one a few times. Absolutely hate this service.
Lost my phone but got it back!
Lost my phone on the train today, but Alvyn and Jess told me what to do. The person I spoke to quickly got someone onto the train, and got my phone. Alvyn and Jess helped me sort it out at London Blackfriars, super thankful to them as well as the operator I spoke to, the guy who got my phone and the lady who led me to the right place at London Bridge. Super thankful for all these helpful people!
Do I have to give them even one star?
Do I have to give them even one star,? is there a worst company to have to deal with. Want to make a change to my ticket with Thameslink customer service and the local railway station bouncing me to the other and neither taking any ownership or responsibility. Ombudsman and Transport Focus wont help, it's too early for them - you need to wait at least 35 working days before they will get involved.
Thameslink is a pathetic company
Thameslink is a pathetic company, crap service and always have problems. People are expected to pay money for a ticket yet we receive terrible service, not fair and not professional. This company is lazy and does nothing about complaints. Thameslink, sort your crap out you’re embarrassing.
Absolute shambles
Absolute shambles, not once in the last 2 years have I had a journey with no issues. Then your ticket inspectors want to start checking tickets and asking people why they are travelling, A.its none of your business and B. You moan about fare evasion yet fail to provide the service you are supposed to, why the hell should people pay for this circus
Absolute worst of the worst
Constant daily delays, wholly unreliable, service has gotten worse and worse year after year. Pathetic excuse for a company absolutely worst in the country
You lot are completely useless
You lot are completely useless, pulled off from east Croydon to my next stop at coulsdon south. Then you say your not stopping until Gatwick, you are the reason this country is going down the drain. Complete and utterly useless. Well done for destroying this country
Immoral Station Facilities Decision
I feel compelled to write about a decision that has left me, and many others, genuinely baffled.
Since 31 March 2025, new recycling regulations have required businesses to separate food waste, recyclables and general waste at the point of disposal. Govia Thameslink's response to this legislation has been a tale of two very different approaches depending on where you happen to be travelling. At larger, staffed stations, the company has installed multiple new segregated bins. That is, on the face of it, a reasonable and responsible reaction to the new rules. Credit where it is due.
However, at unmanned stations across the southeast of England, the company has gone in the opposite direction entirely: removing bins altogether. The stated justification is that without staff on hand to monitor usage, passengers might put their waste into the wrong receptacle, thereby compromising the company's recycling rate. Let that sink in for a moment. Rather than trust passengers with a bin, or invest in clearer signage and labelling, Govia Thameslink has decided the simplest solution is no bins at all.
The consequences were entirely predictable. Local residents near affected stations have reported people discarding their rubbish in surrounding streets and neighbourhood wheelie bins instead. The litter problem has not disappeared; it has simply been relocated from railway property onto the doorsteps of people who had nothing to do with this decision. Govia Thameslink insists its own data shows no increase in litter at its stations. That claim may be technically accurate, but it rather conveniently ignores what is happening just beyond the station gates.
The logic here is troubling on multiple levels. Passengers are routinely trusted to validate their own tickets, navigate complex journey planners and manage contactless payments without staff intervention. Yet apparently they cannot be trusted to distinguish between a food waste bin and a recycling bin. The company has essentially penalised all passengers for a problem that has not yet actually occurred.
A more constructive approach would have been to invest in clearly marked, colour-coded bins with prominent instructional signage, perhaps trialling them before concluding the situation was unmanageable. Instead, a blanket removal has shifted the burden onto local communities.
This decision reflects poorly on Govia Thameslink's commitment to both its passengers and its neighbours. It is environmental compliance in the narrowest, most self-serving sense of the term.
Always late
Always late, and changes of destination when passengers are already onboard. Stations cancelled at last moment, full, dirty, noisy, cold in the winter and boiling in the summer. Animals are treated more humanly.
