It couldn't get better
The best after purchase support I've ever experienced for Surf Boards
Seemless delivery and great service overall
I have 3 boards now from GSI. The latest one is a 6'1 Slipstream CV. They are easy to shop with and have great boards.......
Perfect for my age and skill level
I am 69 yrs. old and have been surfing for many years. Needed a board that would allow an aging surfer to stay in the water. This fit the bill, and I had a great summer here in So. Ca.;and looking forward to many more.
Very Nice Equipment
I purchased two boards and have been extremely satisfied with them. They were my first two boards I have ever purchased and the website is extremely easy to navigate and understand.
Absolutely love the Slip-In.
I absolutely love this board. Bought two, a 7'6", and a 7'4". The chart says 50L and 46L respectively, but they are 46L and 42L (if one believes the info on the boards themselves). Given how well the Slip-in surfs I don't expect my other boards to get much work in the near future. I have always liked single fin boards because they suit my style. I am 63 years old, surf short and long, and now I can do both on one board!
Awesome online customer service
I've never had a surf company email me back as fast as GSI did. Answered all my questions and fast shipping.
excellent all round order and delivery and packaging thanks
this is my second surfboard purchase online in Auckland NZ - easy to order system and what impressed me most was the packaging of the board (including previous order) - in the box with bubble wrap and with the Meyehofer the board sock was a bonus.
If you want any improvement tips (not being critical) your website is very slow to use from NZ but maybe it is our end
all good I will buy again - if you need feedback on the NZ market let me know - i.e. torpedo7 are being very aggressive with online marketing and sales (owned by Warehouse group) but more accessories not boards
cheers Tim
great company, not the best product choice on my part.
When I purchased my paddle board GSI in May 2015. I was very please with the process of purchasing the board. For regular shipping, it was shipped the next day from South Carolina and made it to Virginia with in the week. The board was very well protected in there packaging, not a ding on scratch on it. I would definitely use GSI again for my shopping for boards. However the one down fall with shopping online, your not always sure what you are getting. In my case I purchased the 8' Tom Carroll Loose Leaf. I am an experienced paddle boarder and I weigh about 145 I am also 4 feet 9 inch tall, you could say I have very good balance. Therefore I thought the 8' would have been perfect for me. However after trying it out. I realized its nearly impossible for anyone taller than me to stand up on it. I would recommend you over overcompensate for your weight when looking at the weight range and go up at least one size when judging.
Got the Board I wanted Wicked Quick
Mellow and Knowledgeable Person on the Phone. Shipping notification seemed to get slightly occluded in the process--or was that the fog bank I was in?
Wild ride
Excellent support by Global Surf Industries, awesome hybrid board in any wave condition.
7S Slipstream CV Shortboard
trustworthy , quality , prompt .
everything i've purchased surfboards, leashes. fins, misc. have met and exceeded expectations.
Excellent product and service
I was looking for a new user friendly board but even at 64 wasn't that sure a fish was the answer. After discussing with GSI settled on a 6' 3" slipstream CV. Stoked as it catches waves easier than a regular board but turns well and is not slow. (Still keeping a regular board for the days when all the planets align and the surf good without a crowd!)
Modern Longboard
I ordered a 7'0 Modern Longboard (blackbird) from these guys and got it delivered within a reasonable time. The board was safely packed and in perfect condition when delivered. I really like the shape of that board. I recommend it especially for middle aged dudes who do not have the strength (anymore) to paddle short boards for a long time and who want to ride a lot of waves when not riding a longboard. It is wide, stable, light, duck dives easily and rides well. I am 5'5" weigh 145 and 48 years old. I could have gone with a slightly shorter board but that shape is not available in size smaller than 7'0. Bought the white board because I wanted something that looks simple, but the colored ones look great though. I saw a guy with the same board in the 8'0 range who likes it. I would not be surprised that the 9'0 rides very well too. This is a great board reasonably priced.
Excellent
Ordered my sup online.
Was shipped well packaged within a short period of time.
Easy company to deal with.
7S Superfish 3 Good Board for my level of surfing
Okay, I've owned my 6'9" 7s Superfish 3 for about 2 months, and fortunately we've had a good run of swell here in Central Florida for late Sept, early Oct 2015, so I had a great opportunity to ride this board in chest to 2 ft overhead swell on our typical beach break conditions here. Okay, first off let me say that I'm stepping down from 9ft performance longboard. I wanted a board that I could duck-dive to get me out to the line up on our bigger days, but would provide me with reasonable stability, and some extra buoyancy under the chest to give me a bit more float, and paddle power for my skill and age. A little more maneuverability over my 9'0" longboard is a plus, but not something I was really demanding. I'm 182 lbs and 49 years old, and for my age I'm in good shape, and a decent intermediate surfer. Florida beach breaks on big days are extremely challenging to paddle into, since you have to take on the white water and breaking surf full on to get to the line up in most cases. Many times with the period at or near 10s, you take on several waves to get out. The 7S super fish 3 has been a very good board for me, I looked at volumes and went with something that's near the top end of my duck-dive range. I read that the max board volume you can duck dive is about 4.0-4.5lbs of body weight per liter of volume of the surfboard (not sure how scientific this is, but it's just a general guideline). The 6-9" is 43.1L so with my body weight of 182lbs, I'm in this range of max board volume to duck dive. After adjusting to the smaller size board through some trial and error, I found it to be reasonably good at paddling, very manageable on steeper drop ins, good stability, and my rides have been great when the wave holds up nicely. I would personally drop back to my longboard for our more common knee to waist high surf here in Florida, but when we get chest to head high surf, this is great board offering just the right amount of speed, maneuverability, and plenty of fun factor when the waves are pumping. For 49 years old, I actually can't believe how we'll I've adapted to riding this board. Additionally, the board is super light, I've never had a board this light, so it gives you more buoyancy while keeping the board short. Another nice bonus, are the FCS keyless fins which don't require grub (allen head) screws. This will be my go to board when I travel to California and Costa Rica. My only con related to the board are the pressure dings on the deck, I would probably prefer just a bit more glassing on the deck to make it a bit more stronger, but I also know that this board has been built to be light, so there's a tradeoff. In general, I think the value (cost to fun factor) is really fantastic. I would recommend to others. BTW, I was also amazed at how quickly it shipped, and arrived at my home undamaged. Ordering online via the GSI website was a very good experience. Good luck with your next board purchase, and I hope you get some good waves soon....
Begginer
My over all experience, with surf industries was great. Easy to navigate website, good information about their products and suitability for all ages and experience levels. The free shipping was a great added bonus, and a big draw card on my decision to purchase my board from Surf Industries. The board arrived fast, and well packaged.
