I have banked here for 14 years. They may not be perfect, but they are polite, and try really hard to be helpful. Lately the hold times on their incoming calls have been exceptionally high, though (10 minutes).

I had a small account with Suncoast because I had financed two cars from them and have paid them off. I found a used 2006 Porsche I wanted and Suncoast had always had the best rates. I started the application but saved it while I scoured the site to find any information for the interest rate for an older used car. (And yes I called but their hold times were way too long as I was on my lunch break). All I could find was,”used car loans starting at 2.25%”. So I completed the app. Got approved quickly because I have an Exceptional rating from Experian, and low and behold I got an 8.5% interest rate!!! That is unacceptable especially when others had the rate at 6.5-6.9%. Now I have a hard inquiry for two years on my report. USAA actually tells you the rate for a 2006 car BEFORE you apply. I can’t go to anyone else as that would be another hard inquiry. So I lost the car. Thanks Suncoast for bait and switch.

My father passed away in 2020, my mother in 2021.

Do you know if you bank here and assign a beneficiary, even after the bank receives your death certificate, they will not notify the beneficiary?
The beneficiary has to call themselves and ask if they are the beneficiary on the account. If you left say for example, a close friend that you wanted to help by gifting the sum of your account in the event of your untimely demise as your beneficiary. They bank would NOT reach out to them. If you didn't notify someone prior to passing away, that money would..... well, I don't know what would happen to it, because the bank won't tell me.... but it wouldn't go to your beneficiary.
Both of my experiences with this institution have been absolutely awful, to the degree that I would never imagine opening an account here.
