Suncoast is the best for all my banking needs. After using several banks over the years I have never experienced anything like Suncoast. The best people work at my branch.

So far 2025 has turned out to be a bummer with Suncoast credit union they no longer keep a staffed bank the bank wait times are outrageous i waited an hour for a Notary and still had 7 people ahead of me not enough employees any more time to look for a new bank
Suncoast Credit Union online service…
Suncoast Credit Union online service gets worse every year. Basically, when they close their physical branches, they also close their online service. Whether through the website or the app, you can't access it most days after 6 p.m. You always have to wait until the next day. I'm very disappointed with their online service.

I was just being helped and the representative stopped talking to me. I asked her what to do. She said remain on the line while I figure it out. Then she just stopped talking and hung up on me. What kind of people are you hiring now? Thanks for nothing. If you record and monitor your calls then explain to me why I was just hung up on by a rude stuck up employee.

I recently switched to Suncoast credit mainly because of location but was very impressed with the professionalism and time spent making sure I understood all aspects, sending me home with all I needed to know for reference.
Horrible bank
Horrible bank. I was trying to get my title transferred for months. I faxed over documentation that they said was never received. I called numerous times and could not resolve this issue. I ended up getting a new car to fix the issue. Would not recommend. Stay away.

Having relocated from New York to Florida within the past year, I had always conducted my banking with a credit union.
I was fortunate enough to locate Suncoast Credit Union and the services I have experienced are wonderful.
Jaelyn Moss, Member Advocate at the time who has now been moved into a different position, was the first representative I met with.
Not only did Ms. Moss demonstrate professionalism, she provided the utmost customer service. Ms. Moss walked me through each step of opening a new account, transferring my funds, setting my password and created a feeling of welcoming that made me believe my working with Suncoast was the correct choice.
Not every credit union or bank operates the same way, however, all of the representatives of Suncoast provide one-to-one interaction making a member feel that they are more than just a bank account.
Suncoast is fortunate to have Ms. Moss on their team.
Overall Review of Suncoast Credit Union
So far the people have generally been very nice, but that's where it stops. Doing business and using Suncoast is a nightmare on all fronts. The website/app looks like it was designed in 1990 and never updated. They constantly, and I mean constantly block your card/account for no reason. Any transaction that goes through...blocked. All the time. Then, you have to try and call them during business hours to figure out. Most of the time this happened they never texted or emailed or called. I had to call them and try and figure out why my account was blocked. This actually happened to me during week of Christmas when I was traveling up North. It was 8:00pm, traveling, trying to use my card...blocked. This was AFTER I had emailed AND called and let them know I was traveling.
Things have not gotten better since. Still gets blocked. I can't transfer any funds between accounts like CashApp, Venmo, etc for my kids. They do everything possible to make it difficult to use them. Stay away. Now that I've signed up with another institution, will be closing my account with them soon. This is unfortunate, as I heard some good reviews and gave them a shot.
The Customer Service is a joke
The Customer Service is a joke. People with really bad english knowledge pretend to be helpful but give a crap about customers.
My account with Suncoast Credit Union…
My account with Suncoast Credit Union was hacked fraudulently and overdrawn by more than $1,000. After being on the phone for 2 days I was told that there's nothing they could do to help me and that I was responsible for the overdrawn amount. I went to two different branches to pay the overdrawn amount and close the account. I was made aware that they could take the payment but they could not close out my account because it was under review. I was also made aware that it could take more than 90 days for the review to be completed at which point it would be turned over to collections. This bank is not part of the Better Business bureau. This Bank does not offer any fraud protection. This bank is making it impossible for me to pay the fraudulent charges and close the account. I wish I would have read the reviews before ever signing up with them because 80% of them are negative reviews.
This Credit Union hates Veterans
This Credit Union hates Veterans. I am a Dying Disabled Vietnam Veteran Medically Unable to Stand Stress, with Stress-Caused Bleeding Ulcers, Stress-Caused Heart problems, from Stress-Caused Heart Attacks. I have an Aortic Aneurysm repair that is leaking, and my Heart output is less than 10 %. I had just gotten home from a Heart Echo Exam and called Suncoast to get a $5,000 loan for a cheap car for my daughter. I have a DOCUMENTED 45 years of Great Credit, my home is completely paid for, and I own a block of land across from my home. The guy was friendly, asked a lot of questions and sent our loan in, and he said it was all approved, that all we had to do was join the credit union and sign the papers, and we would get the money for the car in an hour.
I joined the Credit Union and asked for the papers to sign and a woman was very rude, and told us we needed records of my 100% Veteran Pay and Social Security, and my daughter's Walmart Pay Checks.
I tried to be polite to the rude woman and we e-mailed everything to her. She said she wouldn't accept the Walmart pay reciepts they use to pay their employees, and she seemed to have something against me because I am a Disabled Veteran and kept trying to make excuses for not giving the loan THAT THE FIRST GUY SUBMITTED AND SAID WAS ALL APPROVED!!!!
When we asked for a supervisor she said she couldn't contact a supervisor for 24 hours, and then she hung up.
I called back and again asked for a supervisor, and was told to wait for a long time. My heart started hurting from all the aggravation, and lies, and I couldn't hardly breathe. After a while she said the supervisor was on a conference call listening to us, and she kept sounding hateful so I said it sounded like they had some problem. I said I was filing a discrimination complaint and she started acting nice saying everyone made a mistake, that the loan was really approved, and that all we had to do was sign papers she would e-mail us and we would immediately get the money to buy the car.
We waited, and waited, and waited and got papers with a long list of question that had nothing to do with the loan, and said they were being used to make sure of who we are.
The questions had multiple choice questions in which NONE OF THE ANSWERS WERE TRUE!
There was no place to write the correct answer. The Credit Union had already asked my Social Security Number, my age, my Date of Birth, and confirmed my idenity. These questions were clearly intended to harass me, and aggravate my Severe Stress Disability.
There were NO PAPERS TO SIGN, it was all lies again by Suncoast Credit Union. Their clear intent was to harass, and aggravate the Disability of a Disabled Veteran. My heart is hurting and I am going to demand a Criminal Investigation of these sick individuals by the Justice Department and Florida's Attorney General. I want to press charges.
They suck
They suck. Dont use them.
Well 2 months ago I opened an account at Suncoast Credit Union because my old bank sucked (or so I thought). I went to withdraw some of my money at the be done today and the bank is refusing to give me my money. They told me that there's a block or a restriction on my account but they can't tell me why and they can't remove it. So apparently credit unions are just as illegal as banks are. Somebody is not going to like me Monday when I end up face-to-face at the credit union to close my account and withdraw all of my cash. I'm the meantime, I'm filing a report with the NCAU and CFPB. This is against my constitutional rights and freedoms. I'm done playing these deep state games.

I want to praise Jennifer Garner in the member solutions dept. My uncle & i had been having all kinds of problems with Suncoast, in regards to our auto workout loan. Information wasn't getting relayed, different employees were giving us incorrect info, not sending things in adequate times, & getting treated very badly/rudely, by an employee (Manny)!
He/they were calling constantly, sending 2 or 3 pieces of mail every other day & NOT helping us at all@@ i wrote a letter to Suncoast's president re all of our problems & high anxiety caused to us, a d Jennifer Garner called me, personally, to apologize profusely about everything & even said this rude, unhelpful employee would be addressed about his bad treatment of us, etc. She fixed the problem they all had caused, & rectified the whole situation within a very few days. She relieved our severe stress & anxiety which I had been dealing with for months with this company, (who's reviews only got two stars). I hope Ms. Garner's superior acknowledges her redemption, at least of our situation. This company needs more employees like her!! With her one call, it was the first time in a long time that my anxiety from just the Suncoast name, was relieved! Thank you from oth of us, Jennifer.
Worst credit union I have ever had the…
Worst credit union I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing.
They "lost" my bill pay for my credit account, that I have been paying for the past 4 years. Then refused to inform me of this by mail, phone, or text. This resulted in a negative mark on my credit score.
I gave them the ACH trace number from NOVEMBER. They are still “unable to find my money”.
Unacceptable service. $cr3w you guys.
It is difficult to access my account
It is difficult to access my account. Too many actions to manage. I will be closing this account soon
Suncoast bait and switch
Suncoast held a reverse mortgage on my parents home when they passed in Jan/Feb 2024 respectively. They issued a claim for X amount when we started probate. We are now closing on the sale of my parents home and - Suncoast is suddenly claiming nearly double what was owed, saying they miscalculated the interest. This is 6 months after their initial claim-ridiculous. We cannot get anyone on the phone to discuss with us. Don't waste your time with this bank - there's a reason the average reviews here are 2 stars.
I’m married to a banker
I’m married to a banker, so I understand customer service expectations in the financial industry, and my experience with Suncoast’s phone support was disappointing. While I did speak to one helpful representative (Marcel), the rest of the interactions left much to be desired.
My account was restricted due to some micro withdrawals from Home Depot. I wasn’t rude or unreasonable—I simply wanted clarification about why this happened and how I could have been notified more effectively than by email, which I didn’t see until a day and a half later. Unfortunately, this delay caused my bills to be late.
When I asked about alternative notification methods, I was met with an unhelpful and condescending attitude, particularly from someone I believe was named Leticia. Instead of addressing my concerns, she rudely reiterated that I had already been told about the situation. I wasn’t disputing that—I was trying to understand how to avoid a similar issue in the future, as I work long hours and overnights, making email an unreliable form of communication for urgent matters.
What upset me most was the unnecessary arrogance and dismissive tone. As a nurse, I deal with all kinds of questions—some repetitive, some basic—but I treat people with respect. That’s part of the job. Customer service is no different. If you don’t like helping people, don’t work in a role that requires it.
Suncoast needs to ensure their representatives are trained to treat customers with dignity and patience. Situations like mine can be frustrating, but there’s no excuse for making a customer feel unwelcome or regretful for reaching out. Marcel was the only person who truly embodied what customer service should be. Unfortunately, the behavior of others overshadowed his helpfulness.
Predatory fees and unsecured data
In June alone Suncoast charged me well over $400 in overdraft fees and I'm sure the total for the year is over $1000.
Data breaches are also a cause for concern.
Between fraud and fees this year, thieves have taken less of my money.
Yesterday I get a text and email saying "we see your account is overdrawn, we're here to help"
I'm not enrolled in texts of that nature and they're the reason my account is overdrawn. The charges aren't getting forced through, but Suncoast still takes their money.
Save your time and get an online bank or a national bank thats actually recognized by major financial institutions
I’ve never been subjected to so many…
I’ve never been subjected to so many freezes on my account, while at the merchant, looking like a fool because my account was flagged as potentially fraudulent, and my payment didn’t go through. I often receive a text message immediately, and a phone call, but it isn’t consistent. I’ve never been able to resolve the flag while still at the merchant, and a couple of times, I’ve even had to call CS to find out the issue, when I’m aware of my balance. BECAUSE THEIR NOTIFICATIONS VIA TEXT AND PHONE DON’T ALWAYS COME IN TIME!! Today, I received an email that my online access was restricted for 6 MONTHS because of their incorrect belief that transactions I initiated were fraudulent. 6th or 7th time since July 2023 I have had to go through the panic and get things straightened out. I’m thinking of switching credit unions, it is so unacceptable.
I called for pay off
I called for pay off, made the payement and than 5 months later they sendd me an email that I owe, thay messed up my credit!
