It is with a heavy heart that I cannot recommend this company. After our appointment we were really excited – we had been put at ease by the friendly advisor, we enjoyed trying on the rings in the comfort of our own home, and we happily told people we knew all about the positive service.

Unfortunately, the problems started in December 2025 after our wedding rings were made. When we received our rings, my wedding ring had been made in the wrong colour gold and had to be sent back. This would not have been a major concern if the problems stopped here – mistakes happen after all.

One month into wearing my new ring, the yellow gold colour on it began to fade to expose a white/silver colour underneath. I took it to a local jeweller who suspected that it had been made in 18ct white gold and then plated (very poorly) to appear yellow. It was not the 18ct solid yellow gold ring I had ordered, and not what was described on the valuation paperwork I received with it. I got back in contact with Smooch right away and of course had to send back my new ring for examination. Following their examination, they were unable to provide any explanation for why the colour was fading and simply told me it had been made incorrectly and would need to be remade from scratch.

Just over 3 weeks later I received my new ring, correct this time. However, for reasons I cannot fathom, it was sent to me with a completely incorrect valuation certificate which stated the ring was made from platinum, the wrong size, and the wrong band thickness. I’m honestly quite stunned that when making a ring for the THIRD time every effort wasn’t taken to make sure every single detail right down to the paperwork would be correct. When I raised this with Smooch, they sent out the correct paperwork but no apology or explanation was given.

So, although I sit here and type this review now wearing a wedding ring which is finally what I ordered, there is a sadness in me knowing it’s not the ring I got married in. It’s not the ring in my wedding photos. One month into my marriage I had to take my wedding ring off and send it away, because this company failed to make it correctly not just once, but twice. Worse still, if the second ring was in fact just a yellow plated version of the first – someone at Smooch had actively attempted to deceive me.

I am giving Smooch a generous 2 stars – because despite the chaos they responded quickly and the issue was eventually resolved. But I would not recommend them to anyone, especially not for something as important and sentimental as wedding rings.

We had a fantastic experience choosing our wedding rings with Nick at Smooch. From the moment he arrived, he made us feel completely at ease and took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for.

Nick was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and never made us feel rushed. He guided us through all the different options, answered all of our questions, and helped us find the perfect rings that we both absolutely love.

I reached out to Nick at smooch to design my custom engagement ring, he took me through each stage and made the process so easy and enjoyable. Nick has a real passion for the craft and was so transparent and genuine. It helped how good the prices were as well!

A few weeks back, we had the pleasure of welcoming Nick into our home to help choose our wedding rings. We can’t explain what a completely refreshing and relaxing process this is. We’re used to picking jewellery in a shop, where there feels like slight pressure, however we had none of that with Nick. He is genuinely so kind hearted. He brings such a relaxing atmosphere, and is so knowledgeable. Not at any stage did it feel like a sale, but genuinely him caring about us, and truly helping us pick our dream rings. We are over the moon with our wedding rings. My husband to be had his uncles ring restored as he is no longer with us. Very sentimental. They took excellent care in restoring and shaping the ring. It will be worn with pride. I lost weight and had to have my ring resized before delivery. My new ring size was changed immediately and no request was too much. Excellent customer service and I would highly recommend smooch to anyone!!

Over 13 years ago we bought our wedding rings from Smooch.

I can’t remember much about the experience, other than it was good enough that 13 years later I went back to buy an eternity ring.

I had made a note of the ring name when we bought our wedding rings, and although it wasn’t on the website, Stephen found it for me and quoted.

Wonderful service, and Smooch pushed to get the ring made and hallmarked in time for our anniversary, despite a short turnaround time.

The whole experience from start to finish was absolutely flawless, it began where we met Nick at Chester racecourse for a wedding fayre. He immediately stood out not for the amazing selection but also for just his personality but genuine interest in customers & knowledge of his trade. Fast forward 6 months later and we have gone to a number of different suppliers but always needed up coming back to Smooch. Nick visited our home and immediately we picked up where we left off in the first meeting. Wha won us over was Nick wasn’t trying to upsell anything he was once again genuinely interested in what we want and creating something special for the both of us

We first met him at a wedding fayre and later chose and purchased our rings in our own home, which made everything feel relaxed and personal. Nick was friendly, knowledgeable and never pushy - he genuinely just wanted the best for us and gave us lots of helpful information to make the right decision.

The rings are beautiful, highly customisable and very reasonably priced. We’d also struggled to find a jeweller willing to resize our engagement ring, but Smooch confidently said they could sort it, which really showed their expertise.
