I’ve had a bit of a mixed—but ultimately very positive—experience with Sleepout curtains.

My first order (the original version of the curtain) was absolutely perfect. It looked clean, worked seamlessly with my windows, and delivered exactly what I wanted. When I ordered a second curtain later on, I realized they had updated the design. The newer version included an extra fabric border that didn’t suit my window style as well and didn’t have the same streamlined look I loved the first time.

When I reached out to customer service, they asked for photos of the packaging, which felt a little unusual—but I understand that’s part of their process. After that, though, they handled everything quickly and really went above and beyond to make it right. They got a replacement out to me fast, and the whole situation was resolved much more smoothly than I expected.

As for the curtains themselves—they are hands-down the best blackout curtains I’ve ever used. My room is noticeably cooler, and they truly block out 100% of the light, which has made a huge difference (especially for my baby’s sleep). I also really appreciate that they’re non-toxic, which gives me extra peace of mind using them in a nursery.

Another big plus is how portable they are. I can easily take them down and bring them along when we travel, which has been incredibly helpful for maintaining sleep routines. And if you’re renting like we are, these are such a smart, non-permanent solution.

Overall, despite the design change hiccup, I would absolutely recommend Sleepout curtains.

One of the suction cups for my curtains was defective. Customer service sent me a brand new two pack with no questions asked.

We use these in our Airbnb for guests who want the blackout feature. We were unwilling to buy blackout shades because of the aesthetics with our setup. But these are perfect, and with the velcro plates pre-positioned and installed it takes guests just a minute to place the curtains.

I ws surprised how good the curtains look. They drape nicely and of course provide the blackout experience.

Suction cups hold well. Complete blackout! Material does smell when unpacking but quickly goes away. Quality seems good.

This product has been one of the only products that truly was as easy and perfect as it said it was!

I got the portable curtains, and it was delivered within a week. The curtains are very high quality and the stitching is great. Light does not go through these. I want to thank the customer service, because there was a slight defect, and they made it right immediately. The city installed these bright LED street lights recently and these curtains are able to block it out. I feel that my sleep has definitely improved. The included suctions are very solidly built, I even just let the curtain hang by one corner during the day without it falling.

I bought the smaller size of the Sleepout blackout curtain, but it didn’t fully cover my window. The Velcro strips stop about 3 inches from each edge, reducing the total blackout width by ~6 inches. This wasn’t clear from the product photos, so I’d recommend sizing up if you need full coverage.

Customer service was excellent—I exchanged several emails with Mel, who was incredibly helpful and happy to assist. They quickly offered to send me the XL replacement ASAP since it was daylight savings.

Bottom line: Good concept, but sizing/design can be misleading. Size up. Great customer support.

Terrible experience with the company. I had issues with the delivery and got the run around as the shipping company recommended I reach out to Sleepout and Sleepout customer service said it was out of their hands and up to the shipping company. I still have not located my shipment after a week nor heard any update, and at this point, I'm out 200 dollars and still exhausted from waking up every night. For the price of the product, customer service was very disappointing. Would absolutely not recommend ordering.

I really love the blackout curtains I bought from Sleepout. They truly do block the light really well and the product shipped really fast! I’ve had a great experience and highly recommend.

They have a great product but beyond that their customer service response time is exceptional and best-in-class. I accidentally had the wrong curtain shipped and they let me keep the wrong size and sent the original size. Thanks to all that this company does!

They ran out of stock of what I ordered and offered to send me an extra curtain for the trouble, very happy with the service

I was recently deployed and my package went missing- this company was amazing and sent me a new one even after the time frame since i was away with the military. They really have their customers backs and i will def be shopping here again!

I was disappointed with this product. The suction cups failed to stay in place, and for the price, I expected better quality. If you're considering a return, be sure to review their return policy carefully. I reached out to ask for a refund (shipping was deducted), which was approved—but I had to email them again over a month after returning the product to prompt the refund. They only refunded after my reminder, which is disappointing.

Great company

They use AI for the email responses. I literally wrote an email and received a response 30 seconds later. They don't address any issues or problems either. I ordered almost 2 weeks ago and I have yet to receive notice from UPS saying that they received my order for shipment.

They say orders are fulfilled within 3-5 business days but it is total bullsh1t.

Bought their portable blackout curtains via kickstarter, I didn't receive a track and trace for the order so was unaware they were being sent to me, I missed the delivery and was never updated that they even tried to deliver it to me so it was only after I checked myself I realised I missed it and that it was sent back to Sleepout. The company claims they can't track where my parcel is and that it never came back to their warehouse, I paid $100 for shipping and yet they can't see anything they claim. They made a ridiculous offer to send them again to me, asking me to pay again plus shipping as if it's my problem that Sleepout can't manage their supply chain.

Worst customer service I have experienced, shameful. Avoid at all costs, their products are not worth the hassle.
