Was on the phone with my mother and someone cut me off, just hung my mother’s phone up. I called back VM is full….. no one checks it? When I called the front desk I recd. a very flippant response from a young man. Rude and unprofessional. Earlene is the only receptionist who is always appropriate. This place is like a prison. NO CHILD….. NO ONE should be treated this way at anytime!!! It’s my understanding the social worker- Melissa Goldman( I do believe she is still there) is involved in determining my ability to speak to my mother!! A SOCIAL WORKER!!! I’m an MS RN BC( Certified in Medical and Surgical nursing)….42 years……have years of clinical and management experience. I do not wrote this with malice, I write this as I can’t bear the thought of others going through this.

Where is the care? Where is the professionalism? Where is the human decency!! I was not responsible for placing my parents here and if I could I would have taken my Mom out of here. Unfortunately, at this point in time….my hands are tied.

Last week I meet with Rob, the administrator to discuss possibly placing my Uncle here in Thousand Oaks . Rob gave me tour of the facilities. I couldn't have been more impressed. The facility I would truly call it a home. It was beautiful, and very well maintained and clean. I could tell they really care about their residents. Everyone was friendly and professional. I hope this will work out for my uncle in the near future. When I left the gave me a beautiful box of fresh made cookies. Honestly , they were the best cookies I have ever had.
Thank you for making this a very positive experience for me knowing that if I can place my once here I would be at peace knowing he will be cared for with dignity and love.

There are so many great reviews here and I agree with all of them. I was just finishing up some estate work of my moms and even eleven years later, my eyes water thinking about this place. I am forever grateful to all the Silverado staff and doctors. Above all others in Los Angeles they are the best. I know this because she was a few others, some very good but Silverado, even being a big company seems to make the individual first here. Everyone knew and really “ loved my mom” of course not like me but there was love seen in every aspect of the care she received there. I want to share my experience with Silverado, where my Dad has been receiving care for the past nine months. I've had the opportunity to see beyond the impressive entry room, colorful brochures, and welcoming intake process, and I'm happy to report that the staff's commitment to day-to-day care is genuinely remarkable. Their dedication provides reassurance to us – the families – and exemplifies the high standards they uphold.

Memory care facilities like Silverado face challenges, such as staff turnover, effective communication, financial pressures, and patients' impulsive behavior. However, the resilience and commitment of the staff at Silverado are inspiring. They demonstrate determination in overcoming these obstacles, giving hope to families and patients.

Our search for a facility for my Dad began in August 2023, after he had spent almost a year with family, taking a considerable toll. Out of the three facilities we looked at, we chose Silverado. I had heard about Silverado nearly two years earlier from a family member of a patient I encountered in the hospital. I am an APN who works in acute and post-acute care, and I remember her recommendation being compelling.   

We looked at three facilities before selecting Silverado.  We considered its proximity to our homes, the favorable staffing ratio, and their caregivers' focus on resident assistance without being tasked with laundry or housekeeping. Furthermore, Silverado offered a well-structured program tailored to the different stages of dementia care, with specific activities for each stage. While it's true that Silverado's monthly costs are towards the higher end of the range for memory care facilities, the costs support a high quality of care/support.

It's important to note that running an institution catering to a population of impulsive and progressively declining patients presents challenges. Silverado has flaws – my Dad has had some incidents, including falls and a medication error. However, the staff's commitment to keeping us informed, addressing concerns, and striving for continuous improvement is what truly matters. In this aspect, Silverado's staff has consistently delivered, providing us with reassurance.

For the past seven months, my Dad has been in hospice care, adding another layer of support provided by Silverado's in-house hospice agency. This additional support has been invaluable, offering a coordinated view of his progress and updates. Despite developing pressure wounds, with the attentive care provided, my Dad has shown signs of recovery, regaining weight, and showing improvement in his overall health.

The staff's dedication and continuous efforts to enhance care have comforted us during this challenging time. Even during late-night or early-morning visits, the staff has been attentive and kind to my Dad, showing genuine care and dedication to their work. On one late-night visit, I met a previous Director of nursing who was covering a night shift—it speaks volumes about the commitment and teamwork at Silverado.

While the monthly cost is higher than most, my Dad's care at Silverado has been worth every cent. I'm deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided, and I want to acknowledge some of the individuals who have stood out and been incredibly helpful during this time:

I want to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care my Dad has received at Silverado. The dedication and compassion of the staff have made a significant difference in my Dad's life and in our family's experience. I am truly thankful for their unwavering commitment and the high quality of care they provide.

My Father joined the Silverado community after a seriously bad experience in another community. His reaction upon entering Silverado for the first time was amazing. He told us he’d been there before and how bright it was. He smiled and danced right there in the lobby. The staff was incredible and welcomed him in with open arms. They gave him the time to adjust and were very encouraging to us as a family. Dad lived at Silverado for 14 month in total. We were always in the loop about his care, his needs and any changes they noticed. The nursing staff, the community staff, the food, the chef, were all such a blessing and made his time there a real home.

Silverados philosophy, dedication to training their staff, comes straight from the top. A lovely man who took time from meetings to meet personally with my mom after my father past away. I can’t say enough really. That says it all.

My wife has been in Silverado Thousand Oaks since the first day of opening. She has received great care from all Silverado personnel from caregivers to house workers, kitchen staff and administrators. They are attentive and concerned and give my wife attention and affection. They treat me with the same concern and keep me informed of her daily situations. Thanks to all concerned.

I have been with Silverado Bellevue for 3 years and it's a wonderful place to work. Looking forward to many many more years here!

My dad moved to Silverado Memory Care in St. Charles 5 months ago from another facility that was struggling to meet his care needs. We are very happy with the care my dad is receiving here. Staff is very professional, caring, and nurturing, with a lot of communication. They have an upbeat, happy tone caring for Dad with love. From day one every staff member speaks to him by name with respect. They have house pets including a dog, birds, and fish, giving it a nice homey feeling. Their daily activities are done at a variety of levels to accommodate all residents at their personal level, and they keep dad occupied with many activities daily. Meals are good food, prepared with personal dietary needs in mind. The chef met with us to ensure he knew my dad's likes and needs. They have separate areas where they can sit and listen to the radio or TV, and if the weather is nice, they can go and sit on the patio outside. We have never visited and found him in his room. Dad is very happy and feels settled at Silverado.

My father has been living at Silverado St. Charles Memory Care for the past year. We had to go through 2 other unfortunate situations until we found the best of the best - Silverado. Here you will find a compassionate and caring staff. I love that EVERYONE here is trained in Dementia care, so the residents in the community can feel safe and cared for in the most dignified way. Each time I visit my dad I witness first hand how kind and gentle staff members are at Silverado. One of the things I like most here is that there are different levels of care, so I know my dad will be supported for the rest of his life here, throughout the stages of dementia. The building itself is clean and inviting, and it feels like home. There are many activities planned for the residents who can choose how much or how little they'd like to be involved. I am very happy we chose to partner with Silverado St. Charles for my dad's care.

The staff is amazing. They really care about the residents. The facility is clean and beautiful.

We moved my 96 year old mother to Silverado, Frederick when she could no longer live with family. Silverado, Frederick were welcoming and immediately engaged my mother -- we were very impressed from the very beginning. We have, and will continue, to recommend Silverado, Frederick to others. The facility is well designed, well staffed and the best facility we could have hoped for. My mother passed at Silverado, Frederick with wonderful support from staff and hospice. I consider this high praise in an industry that typically doesn't deserve it -- Silverado, Frederick is exceptional!

Silverado Thousand Oaks has been a wonderful facility for my mother, All the staff are friendly and professional and have taken care of all my mothers needs. I've Have had many meals with mom and they are very good. We visited many facilities before choosing this one and the cleanliness was noticeably off the charts here at Silverado. The staff at Silverado North Shore is outstanding! The facility is lovely, but the people who work at Silverado are what make it a wonderful, caring community. Not only did every staff member know my dad, but they knew our families and the friends who would frequently visit. They prioritized his physical health, but also created a joyful environment and got to know the person who was in their care. We were so happy with our experience at Silverado!

Silverado is wonderful place to work. The management team is great. Our Administrator is hands on and involved. The experience here at Silverado has been a good one!

Brooklyn, Heather, Rob and the rest of the team at Silverado Thousand Oaks recently rescued us from what started out as a horrible experience at a different and negligent assisted living/memory care facility. Silverado was the clear front runner for us during our vetting and facility touring process, but after one early morning phone call to Brooklyn, she rallied her team and assisted us in getting a loved one on-boarded and moved in by 4pm that same day! Truly a miracle. They offer an all-inclusive/holistic approach to memory care. They focus solely on "memory care" which is how they are able to tailor the quality care they provide and give such personal attention to each and every one of their residents. From on-site medical care to diet and endless socialization and activities, there isn't anything they haven't helped us with. When the residents think they are at a "fancy resort," you know they must be doing something right!

My husband and I succeeded in keeping my father and both of his parents in their homes until they passed away. However, although we tried hard, we could not keep my mother in her home because of the nature of her dementia. My Mom was very unhappy at home and was increasingly unsafe but it still was difficult for me to adjust to the idea of placing her in memory care.
Although the transition was bumpy, my Mom is now extremely happy at Silverado. The professionals there assured us we and she would get through it, guided us through every turn, and were absolutely right about how it would unfold.
My mother fell twice while at Silverado and might have bled to death if she had fallen at home. But staff was just steps away to care for her and onsite nursing stopped her bleeding and then checked her wound daily. She would not have had that kind of care at her fingertips at home. In my view, they have not only her made her happy with so many activities she loves but they have saved her life.
Silverado has 25 years of research at its fingertips and has developed an excellent program. I love the basic philosophy that residents are treated with respect and not treated as though something is wrong with them.
I have learned a lot from the dedicated professionals there. I now understand why 24/7 care at home is not equal to living at Silverado. You can’t replicate at home a setting where everyone around your loved one is trained in dealing with people with dementia. You can’t replicate a setting where every discipline from general practitioners, psychiatrists, dentists, nurses and social workers to engagement specialists, beauticians and aides is present. Coaxing my Mom to come out of her room every day to socialize has had such a beneficial effect. She never would have listened to me! I have no idea what the ratio of staff to residents is, but it must be very good because there is always someone there to help and they know my Mom well.
In addition, Silverado has an excellent NEXUS program for high functioning residents who have other severe mental limitations, which is designed to deter the memory decline as much as possible.
Silverado also provides individual support and support groups for family and that is so helpful.

Most importantly, Silverado is a collection of dedicated and caring individuals who keep my Mom very happy and safe, both physically and psychologically.

Silverado Frederick Management team is unfriendly, unprofessional, rude, inattentive, etc. They will ignore, avoid, disregard and/or dismiss any family concerns in the wellbeing and safety of love ones is brought to their attention. Not a safe place for your loved one. Silverado founder wrote a book which is given to families to read it may be more beneficial for the management staff at the Frederick location to be required to do the same. Silverado’s only priority is the almighty dollar. The overall care and wellbeing of their residents is of minimal concern.
Stay away Silverado Fredrick is not what they advertise. Lack of proper medical staff on site, high employee turnover, poor food and drink items, dirty dishware, insignificant staff CPR certified especially during meal time, inadequate/minimal if any social activities. If you plan a visit, come on the weekend to get the real picture not the horse and pony show they love to present!!

My husband was a resident at Silverado for almost two years. In August 10, 2023, he collapsed with a coronary embolism and never regained consciousness. He passed two days later on August 12, 2023. I kept in touch with the facility thru the facilities manager, via text about his health and even provided her notification of his passing and an invitation to the funeral. A week after the funeral (11 days after his passing), I had my son stop by to pick up my husband’s belongings.

If you enroll with Silverado and your loved one passes while under the care of Silverado, make sure you pick up their belongings on the day of death or you will be charged over $200/day as a storage fee for their personal items. They say they charge the fee because they are holding the assigned room for your deceased loved one.

This situation let me realize the two (2) boxes of personal belongings for my spouse soured the relationship my family and I had with Silverado. When you are most venerable—after losing a loved one, it is still a business with them and they are not concerned about communicating fine print—as long as they have belongings for your loved one, they will charge you even in the resident's death.

I found the staff to helpful, caring, and professional. They put together a medical care team that quickly did his wound care and stabilize his medication.

My wife has been in Silverado Barton Springs for one month; and while that may be a short time for a thorough review it is not too short for "first" impressions. OUTSTANDING!!! The staff and the love that is given and received is an incredible thing to witness.
