Without warning started using Jumio id…

Without warning started using Jumio id verification that requires you to upload a photo of your drivers license. They already have two factor verification why they added this is beyond me. I have had an account for years. They should have a work around. I guess I will have to get certificates and move them to broker account.

If you have a choice - just say NO

If you have a choice, do not use them.
Unfortunately, my employer uses this company for stock distribution and sales. So I requested the sale of a small number of stock via ACH. Took me days to figure out it didn't go through and they didn't tell me the status or why it didn't go through. They then sent a check via "presorted USPS regular mail", from Minneapolis/St Paul. The check took 11 days to travel a few states. Who sends a check "presorted"....that is for magazines and advertisements. Then when you call them you get an off-shore representative that does not understand the logistics and is just reading a script. Finally, come to find out they use ANOTHER company to perform the ACH transfers. I would absolutely not recommend this company if you have a choice. If you don't have a choice, stay on top of your transactions on a daily/hourly basis.

They are requiring a new authentication…

They are requiring a new authentication format with government id and camera snapshot that fails whether I use my phone of laptop. Help desk is helpless. Recovery letter steps don't follow the logon script. Will be moving my account as soon as I can get access!!!!

This outfit is a joke

This outfit is a joke. Luckily, I only have two accounts here, one of which I shall be closing soon as it is impossible to service the account. All of their telephone reps are foreigners and impossible to understand.
I plan on notifying the two companies that I own stock with about this horrible service. Just maybe they will go to a quality company for their transfer service e. g Compiutershare or /Broadridge

EQ rep in India and hard to understand and really wasn't helpful

I tried to understand why EQ sent me a request for another W-9 Taxpayer ID certification regarding Procter & Gamble stock. I called and spoke to someone obviously from India who was hard to understand and became impatient due to his poor English.
I think outsourcing financial info to foreign reps is in itself concerning, but this is common place and should be stopped by large corporations on the cheap.
Then when asked how soon this updated info would go into effect, he said 20 days, and that I had to call to confirm. Really??? We have AI, the IRS takes estimated taxes out of our back accounts within hours, but these guys can't get this done for 20 days?
This is a sad state of affairs! Large companies need to be more responsible to their shareholders.

Incompetence of the highest level

I am a UK widow trying to sell a modest shareholding in a USA company. Despite numerous phone calls, emails and letters, and spending over £500 in obtaining documents EQ Shareowner Services demand, I am no further forward.
My problems began on 8th November 2024 when I informed them of the death of my husband and asked for their help in selling his shares.
They persist in sending correspondence addressed to my DEAD husband at an address we left years ago.
Every time I phone I speak to someone different and am given conflicting advice. Promises to call back are not kept.
Unlike in the UK EQ Shareowners wil not do ANYTHING by email, postal services are slow yet EQS put unrealistic time limits on documents.
In my 78 years on the planet this is easily the most incompetent, unhelpful and stress generating company I have ever had the misfortune to have dealings with.

Since they require Jumio verification

Since they require Jumio verification, I can no longer access my account. It is so frustrating. I guess this was done in the name of safety but I used to access my account weekly and now it is no longer available! What a headache! I wish there had been some warning so that I could have moved my shares.

The representatives are nice but this company is so sketchy, I’m only with them as that’s where my stock is. They have so many sketchy practices and should be shut down

One Star is is way to kind, more like a black hole!

The platform just doesn't work, no matter how many times you go through it. Their server always comes back as unavailable. They should just do the world a favor and declare bankruptcy and go away. Forcing people to use this horrendous service to sell their stock is criminal. thats 3 days I'll never get back.

A horrible experience.

Giving this organization one star is one star too many. The only good thing I can say about it is that their customer service reps are respectful. Wait times to get a customer service is too long. One representative tells you one thing to do and then the application is rejected. The right hand does not know what the left is doing. A horrible experience.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

My father passed in 2018, his accounts were transferred to my mother. She passed in 2022. I was able to transfer her accounts to my brother and myself. Just in the last year I start receiving mail about a few accounts still in my father’s name that we didn’t know about. My frustration, I was able to transfer my mother’s accounts with our court document Decree of Decent. Now they are telling me that will not be accepted. How the hell did I transfer my mother’s accounts in 2022 then? They want me to do a small estate affidavit, the estate has already been through probate!! Decree of Decent is a Court order that any assets of my mother belong to my brother and myself. I have the Decree of Decent where my father’s account went to my mother, and the Decree of Decent where her account goes to us. When I asked through messages on my own account that was transferred from my mother in 2022, “Please share with me what documents I used to transfer this account to my name when my mother passed.” Here is their ridiculous response exact quote. “ We suggest you to help us with your father’s account so that we will check and assist you accordingly.” Unbelievable! Once I get this taken care of I am leaving this company, which it sounds like it will be hell getting my money sent to me!

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! Working through a probated estate for my father and getting information is a ridiculous process. Slow and unresponsive. Same documentation has to be submitted over and over. I've had to resubmit a death certificate multiple time. Customer service struggles to provide requested information which requires additional follow up and more copies of same documentation. Definitely need more training and improved processes. Would highly recommend other to refrain from using their services. Once probate of the stock for the estate are transferred, I hope to never have to use their services ever again!

I made an account on here just to write this review Shareowners online pissed me off so much. Used to be run by Wells Fargo, sold off to EQ, who sold off to Shareowners Online. I never had an issue until the last 3 transactions to sell stock. I always put the sell order in for a direct deposit. Nope last 3 times they sent a paper check, took 10 business days plus weekends so really over two weeks, then you have to wait for your bank to clear the check. Almost 3 weeks from sell date to money in your account. They don't tell you, they just send it. However, they send it super slow, no tracking, no nothing. If you call them they blame it on your bank and say they rejected the direct deposit option thats why we sent a paper check. Due to their shit ass transaction I was late on my mortgage. Cost me more money than its worth. When you call them, they are very firm and direct with a we did our job and we could give two shits about you and your account. Their fees are a total rip off. Move all your accounts to Fidelity or Schwab or anyone else than this place.

One has to work really hard to be as incompetent as this company

My 95 year old mom lost a certificate for shares of stock held by Shareowner Online. We notified them and they sent a letter saying we needed to complete a surety bond with them to cover the lost certificate and transfer the shares into direct deposit. The cost is 5% of the value of the shares. The alternative was to get a surety bond by an "A" insurer and submit it to them.

Found out that going directly to the insurer is 1/2 the cost of getting the surety bond through Shareowner Online, so elected to go that route. I am using the same insurer they use. The agent asked for me to get a pre-approval on the surety bond from Shareowner Online before processing it, so I reached out to Shareowner Online to see how this could be done. Well, they don't take faxes, everything has to be by mail. You can also not speak to anyone directly in the lost certificate department. You get send to an Indian call center and they know absolutely nothing. Even when you insist on speaking to a supervisor who does speak English, he is useless. Informs me it must be mailed in and they will mail back a response. The process literaly took a month for them to get back to me to provide feedback on finalizing the surety bond to their absolute specifications. At several points, I tried emailing them to ask when they would get back to me and simply received a stock reply email response that ignored my question and told me that they understood that I had lost my certificate and then went through the steps to change them into direct registration by getting a surety bond. There wasn't even an attempt to addresss the question that I asked that I had sent in a draft of a surety bond and when they would provide feedback on it so I could finalize it.

I have now sent in the pre-approved Surety bond that has been finalized with tracking. They received it 2 weeks ago per my tracking and there has been no update in my account that they have received it and are processing it and when the shares will be put into direct registration. Is that really that hard to provide. I get emails from Amazon, when I purchase something, when it has left the warehouse and when it will be arriving at my doore and then when it has been delivered.

The snail pace of response, the lack of reponding to simple questions with answers that show you at least read the question put forth, the inability to answer questions over the phone.

I work with dozens of financial companies, Schwab, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase, etc. No one, and I mean no one is as un-customer service helpful as Shareowner Online. I just don't get the complete unprofessionalism of this company. If you have shares being held by them, get them out. Get them into Schwab or a broker as soon as you can. This company is the worst and should really not be in business and I am going to write the stock company we have shares in and let them know of my experience as well.

wish I could rate it a 0. When I went to sell stock for buying a house they changed my $21k direct deposit to a check without asking me. Check is a 10 business day turn around and now we will miss our house closing because of it.

The WORST

The WORST.
Trying to get hold of our money and assets is a NIGHTMARE. The website is the most user-hostile thing I've ever come across, you can't get hold of anybody for at least a couple days, and the response is some computer-generated crap that doesn't solve the problem, and if you try to call customer service you're on hold for at least a half hour and get a person who can't help (and rest assured, their first language is most certainly NOT english.)

This is the worst company I have every…

This is the worst company I have every delt with in my life.
They still send out dollar cheques to shareholders outside of the USA when most banks don't accept them, which take four weeks to come and 30 days to clear, and if the check fail to clear you end up paying all charges.
Trying to get a direct funds transfer set up is a nonsensical paper form filling exercise which should be done electronically via your online account. IN THIS DAY AND AGE, THEY TOLD ME THEY CAN NOT DO BANK TRANSFER.
Every time I call, I get the runaround. They tell me someone will reach out in x days or 24-48 hours. This has happened at least 4 times and no one calls. No one calls.
Move away if you can.

This is a terrible platform

This is a terrible platform! Please stop forcing shareowners to use it. The online account failed suddenly out of no reason, and all restore method provided on the website is not working. And the customer service is awful that you need to chase them all over the place to get help, and they are not helpful at all that no one is able to resolve problems immediately. It's investors' real money in there, and shareowneronline just don't give a shit. Worse platfrom I've ever used.
