STAY AWAY! I paid this company to inspect a car for me from interstate. Spoke to the inspector before, sent a text before and spoke to him after. Told me car was "perfect" like brand new. Car arrived with over 50 stone chips on the bonnet, guards and bumper. The windscreen was also pitted. When challenged they said i did not pay for the "paint package" even though i discussed paint condition when talking to the inspector as well as a text. Took no responsibility. I now have a $40,000 car that requires a re-spray.

My overall experience with Ride Inspect was extremely frustrating, despite the inspection itself being thorough. An Apple Pay autofill issue initially resulted in my contact email being incorrect. Even after I supplied the correct email directly, the advertised instant digital report was not delivered, and I eventually had to chase it up myself through the inspector.

When I later tried to provide feedback on my experience, I was told I’d receive a call back, but days passed without any follow-up until I had to pursue it again. While I appreciate the inspector’s work, the lack of communication, the failure to deliver the service as advertised, and their handling of feedback left me very disappointed.

Note: Following legal correspondence from Ride Inspect, this review has been adjusted to focus on factual experiences. It states my personal experience and honest opinion.

I was asked to pay the priority charge to ensure same day inspection.
I paid the priority fee to ensure a same-day inspection of the vehicle. However, I received a call stating the inspection had been completed without me present, and the caller yelled at me for "not answering my phone"—despite the fact that I had received no such call.

It became clear that my booking was confused with someone else’s, and there was no apology provided for the mistake. Without my consent, Ride Inspect then contacted the owner of the car I was planning to buy to reschedule the inspection for the following day. Luckily, I was with the owner when he received that call, otherwise I would not have known.

Despite paying for priority service, the car was not inspected on the day promised. Based on this experience, I would absolutely not recommend Ride Inspect to anyone.

Ride Inspect’s public reply claims they “notified me immediately” and issued a refund, but this is inaccurate. The refund was not immediate, and only processed later. More concerningly, after my review was posted, I received calls offering me a free service or cash if I deleted or changed my review — which I refused. I have reported this conduct to Trustpilot.
Below is a record of the texts and calls from the day of the booking (23/07/2025), confirming that my review is factually accurate and in good faith:
10:25 AM – I called the Ride Inspect number listed on their website. They were not able to answer.
10:25 AM (SMS RI): “Hi, I’m not able to take your call right now, unfortunately. I will call back shortly. *name of RI employee (removed)– Ride Inspect”
10:25 AM (SMS RI): “Hi please text me. Thank you”
10:25 AM (SMS Me): “Hello, I was hoping to have a pre-vehicle inspection in *purchase location (removed)* today at approximately 3:30 pm or 4 pm.”
10:26 AM (SMS RI): “Sorry next booking will be tomorrow or Friday. Thank you.”
10:27 AM (SMS Me): “Okay, no worries. Thank you.”
10:31 AM (SMS RI): “Can try to do between 5–6 pm.”
10:31 AM (SMS Me): “That would actually be really helpful, thank you.”
10:32 AM (SMS Me): “Do you want me to just pay you in cash when you turn up? It’s the basic inspection.”
10:32 AM (SMS RI): “Please make a booking online. Thank you. For today’s booking it will priority extra $50.”
10:33 AM (SMS RI): “Thank you.”
10:34 AM (SMS Me): “Okay, I’ll book it now.”
10:35 AM (SMS RI): “Thank you.”
10:44 AM (SMS Me): I sent a screenshot of the payment and receipt – “All paid, cheers.” (RI reacted with a 👍 emoji.)
4:20 PM (SMS Me): “Hello, may I please have an idea of your ETA so I can tell the owner?”
Shortly after this, I received the call claiming the inspection was already done — which was impossible.
4:41 PM (SMS Me): “Hi, just letting you know there’s no way the inspection could have been completed because the seller hasn’t been home all day.”
Following this, Ride Inspect called the seller directly (while I was present with him) to reschedule again without my knowledge or consent.
I stand by my review. Everything stated above is true and supported by records.

I recently booked a pre-purchase car inspection through Ride Inspect with Adam and couldn’t be happier with the service. He was professional, punctual, and extremely thorough in his assessment. What a great experience! We are in another state and desperately needed to get a car inspected to buy as ours had broken down. I booked priority and they were there within a couple of hours. Their communication was fantastic; they were thorough and even sent me videos knowing that I couldn't see the car myself. The report sent was also outstanding. What great service - would definitely use them again!

There was a misunderstanding from my part as to what the fee schedule covers.
After discussion with someone from Ride Inspect, we came to an understanding.
Issue is that I was honest about where we go from there.. but they did not keep to their promise.. thus why I now rate then as 1 star.

Booked pre-inspection online very easily, Bari performed inspection next morning, received a through and very detailed report with comments, photos and rating, Bari then gave me a summary and thoughts on vehicle over the phone, he goes above and beyond what I expected, and I can now make a very informed decision on buying this vehicle, this is my first experience with organising a pre-ispection Bari from Ride Inspect made it a very enjoyable one, definitely use again and refer to anyone, well worth the money..

Great service. Easy to book and organise. Bari booked and liaised with seller. Report was clear and received a phone call from Bari afterwards who gave me some insights and clear feedback on the car.
