I applied to Reedsy as a web developer despite having 6+ years of professional experience and building over 350 websites for clients. Their requirements mention needing at least 3 years of experience and a strong portfolio, both of which I clearly exceed.

Unfortunately, my application was rejected without any meaningful feedback or explanation. If Reedsy has additional selection criteria beyond what's advertised, they should be transparent about it instead of encouraging experienced professionals to spend time applying only to receive an automated rejection.

The lack of transparency makes the application process feel misleading and frustrating. I expected a platform that values experienced freelancers, but my experience suggests otherwise.

I hope Reedsy improves its screening process and provides clearer expectations or constructive feedback to applicants.

I like Reedsy, they are not too big for their boots. Everyone matters to them. If you have a query about matters relating to the publishing of your first novel, they understand and have an answer.
My Reedsy professional editor Rosie and professional proofreader Eleanor were really friendly, down to earth, we emailed each other, which, for me was nice.
My first of three novels, The One and Only Conchobar Stacey, a love story and family drama, follows an Irish family who emigrate from a small village in Ireland to Hell's Kitchen, New York in 1924. It covers a beautiful love affair, heartbreak and the Wall Street Crash of 1929.

I didn't know Reedsy, but I discovered it and quickly got to use it for my upcoming book and I'm really impressed with how easy the platform is to use and the quality of the editors I had at my disposal. My experience was average. It was easy to follow the process but i haven't received payment yet. I'm waiting to see if the promised payment is completed. So far the experience is neither very good nor very bad.
