I just like the whole experience of Rakuten. Gives great cashback, customer service is quick and responsive.

Love the concept but my cash back is frequently missing from some retailers like PetSmart and the investigation process is opaque.

The cash back is good and it is always proseced on time. I recommend it to everyone.

90% of the time, the amount showing on Rakuten's website is incorrect. For example, the subtotal on my order is $100, but Rakuten will only show $95 and give cashback based on the $95. Where did the $5 go? And how did they arrive at this $95 number?? I have no idea. And they never explain. And no, it is NOT due to currency conversion as the seller charges in CAD. If you bug them via support, they will often add the missing money back, without any explanation.

Another problem is partial cashback. For example, buy 3 items, only 2 items get the cashback. This happens A LOT on AliExpress and the one item that doesn't get the cashback is always the most EXPANSIVE item in the order. Coincidence? I think not. And yes, I verified beforehand ALL items are eligible for cashback. This happens a lot buying expansive electronic parts from AliExpress. You can go to Reddit and read all the complaints on this so it's not just a few isolated cases.

And the biggest problem - claw back. Rakuten will often claw back PARTS of the cashback that's already confirmed in your account, WITHOUT NOTIFYING YOU. So if it says you will get $10 on payout day, you might end up getting $8. $2 will inexplicably disappear. And NO, I did NOT return parts of the order as it's an order of ONE ITEM. And again, they do this WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION. No email whatsoever. Probably hoping you won't notice. This also happens a lot, you can also read all about this in posts on Reddit.

Overall, very unreliable company. You will get cashback, just not the amount they say you will get.
They were better when they were still called eBates before they sold to Japanese Rakuten.

Getting paid to shop is a no brainer. The hardest part is remembering to log in.

Rakuten makes it easy to get rewards. Just check in first and see if that site offers it. The rewards are great and it's wonderful receiving a cheque!

Love the 12x & 15x points events for major labels. Easy to find specific retailers. Both the app & website are easy to navigate. Cashback really is cash!

Many times I have to submit a missing cash back inquiry when it should be automatically be done. There were also times when they made excuses as to why my transaction didn't qualify for cash back. I haven't been using it as much lately because I'd rather not deal with the hassle

Rakuten is absolutely amazing. I just started using it the past few months at my sister's referral. Imagine, getting paid to shop. Imagine, getting a big, fat cheque. It's wonderful!!

I booked my trip to Europe using Expedia and the Rakuten extension and I got the cash back from Rakuten and the Expedia rewards too! What not to love close to $150 cash in my pockets!!
